I had the most expensive specialty, king maki. It was sweet and tasty. There wasnt a whole lot of king crab meat, however id expect a bit more for the price. Had a spicy yellowfin tuna roll. The food was good. The service did not match with the quality. We went there for dinner around 9pm. The waiter messed up with my order. I was super hungry so I took it. Also I knew no one wanted to spend two-hour salary on one unexpected dish because it happened to me when I was working for my part-time job. We used to come often, at least once a month, but we heard there was a management change, and so often when that happens, quality, quantity, variety, and/or service suffers, so we had not been for awhile. Turns out the opposite is true for Sakura (yay!). There are some new menu items; we tried two of them and were not disappointed. Pleasantly surprised by the Monday sushi special. However, hostess and manager were very rude and not prompt to seat me and my two year old who almost got into everything! The waitress took about ten minutes to get drink orders and sushi took 50 minutes. My husband and I went about 12 months back and also had a bad experience. Shame on me for trying again. Sushi and sashimi options were pretty good- sashimi was a generous size for the price. I cannot recommend the udon noodle however- ingredients were poor quality and the broth was pitiful....I've had better broth in instant noodles. For a higher end restaurant charging almost $15 for a bowl of noodles, I certainly expected better. the best sushi in akron, hands down. every time i go there or get take out i am blown away. i pretty much always get the same things and then try one new thing. i tend to usually go with the same group and we all agree. rolls i adore: red dragon spicy scallop chop chop their salad dressing is yum, even though the salad is simple. all the japanese dishes like chicken teriyaki came out looking and tasting amazing - NOTHING negative at all! house sake is yummy and inexpensive. something i'm really pick about when it comes to sushi is the rice. sakura has perfected sushi rice - not too chunky, not too vinegary, PERFECT. consistency and flavor alike. seriously, do yourself a favor and pick up some rolls from here sometime. yummooo. read more

My boyfriend and I meet here for dinner on Mondays occasionally. He loves there sushi and select $4 rolls on Monday's make it worth the drive. We have never had an issue until today. My boyfriend overheard the owner say something to the effect of, the only people that come in on Monday's are cheap or poor. WHAT? Your business is packed and I see lots of items coming out of the kitchen besides $4 sushi. Every time we have come in we order more then just sushi as well. If you don't like the clientele take the special off your menu and raise your prices. You won't have to worry about my boyfriend and I, we'll save you some trouble. My absolute favorite sushi that I have found in Ohio since I have moved from California. Most places don't have fresh fish, understandable since we live in Ohio. This place is always busy, fresh fish, and creative rolls. Monday is there half price day, but it's just the simple rolls, nothing fancy. My boyfriend loves the paradise roll, it seems neat with the coconut on top. I stick to the pink lady, but a lot of their rolls are great. If you can't make up your mind, tell the sushi chef to make you something and tell them what you like and don't like and voila you'll have amazing rolls! The best sushi in town hands down. The place is pretty small but very relaxing. I was almost overwhelmed by the assortment of sushi available. I tried four different rolls and every single one was amazing. Have a lot of options that I've never heard of before. Such as sushi with mango or lemon. Highly recommend. I would've rated this place with 5 stars but the service was barely good. At the very least a smile would've been nice. Don't let the lack of customer service get in your way. Recently went here for lunch with a client as the other place I tried does not open for lunch. The quality was excellent, the service was great and while the place was not big, it was big enough and my party of three was comfortable. The biggest thing though, was the selection!! I have never seen so many different rolls as a sushi restaurant. I had the spicy salad which was great and the flaming tree which was unlike anything I have ever had before and delicious.
