Me and my son was craving ramen and I been wanting to try this place since it opened. It's somewhat of a far drive but it was worth it. Walking in they sat us down immediately and even asked if I wanted a booth or just regular chair seating. We sat at a booth. Started off with waters and I checked the menu out. We ended up getting the spicy miso ramen to share. It already came with an egg, chashu, seaweed, bamboo and corn in a tonkutsu broth. Some places you have to add all that in yourself and they charge you by the topping so I appreciate that this already came with the bowl. The prices aren't bad either! The ramen and sashimi was reasonably priced IMO. We got a sashimi appetizer to share which came with 8 pieces of chefs choice. They were so quick with it. The service was amazing!! I'm telling you they came out with the ramen so fast I was impressed. It was piping hot. I asked for one extra little bowl for my son and she got that out too. Then the sashimi came literally right after. It was salmon, ahi tuna, I think hamachi or white tuna, and tbh idk the other fish but everything tasted fresh! The ramen itself was delicious. We added some togarashi and hot chili oil that they have on the side for us for an extra kick. The service was so A1 our server came out to check on us almost every 5 mins asking if everything was alright and to fill our water cups. Love that they are so attentive! This is such a cute and cozy ramen spot. It's not super big inside, somewhat of a tight space but the menu is pretty big IMO. If in the area I would return again!

I met up with my best friend for lunch, we had agreed to give this place a try since we've both never been. Arrived a few mins before 1230pm thankfully no wait! I was greeted and seated immediately. Our server was very kind. Brought us water and gave us time to look over the menu. I ordered the spicy miso ramen my friend ordered the chashu ramen. We also each order a roll: salmon and Philadelphia. Orders came out quickly. The ramen was hot and plated beautifully. The spicy miso was bomb!!! It was soooo good not too spicy, the ramen was perfectly al dente! The broth was so flavorful and they didn't skimp on the topping and the meat! The egg was so silky and it just melted in my mouth! The rolls tasted fresh. This place is amazing!!! I was eyeing their curry so I will surely come back for that! Service was amazing, food was delicious! Highly recommend! The place is clean and beautiful inside. It's not a big place so I'm sure the wait be long on a busy day! But they do work fairly quick!

/Good food and service/ The shrimp ramen was good. We also tried a few appetizers; they were good too--came out perfectly cooked. The service was quick, and the atmosphere was relaxing. It's a solid 4-star spot for a chilled-out meal--definitely worth a visit and drive.

The customer service upon entry was amazing. The place was over half full upon entry and similarly occupied when we left. The ambient sound is not bad against their music. PORK KATSU CURRY RICE so dang delicious. It gets better the more I eat it. 4.25 out of 5. BBQ CHICKEN RICE BOWL had that smoky teriyaki aroma that brought me back to an old Manchester Mall joint that I totally miss. Nostalgia, Ratatouille-style!! We were so happy with the Food and The price that we ordered additional to go food for the next day. The BEEF RICE BOWL was freaking delicious and tender. The only downside is that their California roll says it uses crab meat, but you can see that it is the imitation STICK crab, which is fish. So not terribly happy that they don't properly communicate this. (I didn't remove a star for this, as I was aware enough to not order it.) Definitely worth coming back to try out more.

I love it. If you want an affordable eat, cheap date night this is it. The food was pretty good. Is the quality on par with its higher end ramen spots? No. But for the price it's pretty dang good. Anddddd they provide pictures for their menu items. That's a win in my books. Shrimp tempura udon: broth was tasty, udon noodles were chewy. I'd definitely get this again but the only change I'd make is to ask for the tempura items on the side. I didn't like that my tempura got soggy. Other than that delish! (4/5) Takoyaki: standard, good. No complaints. (4/5) Tengu maki: for $14 that's a great price. The roll was delicious! (5/5) Spam musubi: very basic. I wished they pan fried the spam in the teriyaki or something. Just spam and rices (3/5) Overall, I'd definitely come back. It's very affordable. Service was good. Ambiance was great. Little tight but that's okay.

TLDR; pretty good ramen, cute little interior kinda spaced away from everything else though, with some decent sushi and all right appetizers. staff is new and still working out the kinks. I got a chance to try: 1. Chashu ramen: really yummy and well sized bowl. Noodles are great and broth is flavorful. 2. Seaweed salad: standard salad, wouldn't get again. 3. Sweet fried chicken: comes with sauce on the side, and I thought it was well presented, albeit lacking some flavors 4. Spam Musubi: really felt like this was just a bunch of rice, could done better with 2 pieces of spam instead of 1. 5. Edamame: lightly salted, if you like it, you should get it. 6. Dragon roll: Well crafted, artistic presentation, and flavors that work together well, least fishy I generally wait for everyone to get their food before eating, but we ended up waiting like 15 minutes+ for the last person to get their rolls before eating; that felt pretty bad. I would've preferred either a slower rollout of appetizers so we could've synchronized our eating of our main course options.

The place just recently opened but I've been waiting for a while for them to open. Our family decided to come and try it for dinner yesterday. The restaurant is small and intimate. I don't remember how much the occupancy size is but it looks like it can hole up to maybe 25ish people. I didn't take a photo of the inside at the time since there were other diners and didn't want to intrude on their privacy. But it was really cute inside with beautiful art on the walls. As you walk in you're immediately greeted and seated. We had a party of 5. It's a booth/chair combo type seating arrangement except for one table of 4 by the entrance. Our drinks were taken and brought out immediately. The young gal was training and did a fantastic job. We ordered quite a bit of food (plain udon with no toppings, plain curry udon, chicken curry udon, dumplings, spam musubi, sushi rolls (Rock n roll, fresno, hangover, and okey dokey). Our food came out pretty quickly. My son loved the udon and said it's his favorite restaurant. The chicken curry had a lot of rich flavors. The broth was quite thick almost like a gravy consistency (which is not my preferred type of soup), but Nancy came over to the table and asked how the food was and if we had any comments/suggestions. She listened to us and took my opinion gracefully. The sushi rolls....I can eat here at least 3 times a week just for that. The rolls were delicious and for the price I'll definitely be back. Most places are charging a ridiculous amount for sushi rolls. This place is worth a try and my family and I will be coming back! Especially since my son said it's his new favorite restaurant.

I noticed they just open and decided to stop by and have some sushi rolls. The location is a bit small with a couple medium size tables and the rest are 2 seaters. The staff was very friendly and there was no wait time. I ordered a seaweed salad which was very delicious and fresh. I then ordered some salmon nigiri and a Philadelphia roll. The nigiri was delicious and the rice with the salmon tasted really good. The Philadelphia roll which is one of my favorites, definitely didn't disappoint and I enjoyed mixing in some of the sauces they had on the table with my sushi and nigiri. Definitely will be returning to try more of the menu. The food was high quality and location was clean.

I was traveling through Fresno for an appointment Friday and afterwards decided to get some dinner. I wanted something different and noticed a Japanese restaurant, Ten Gu Ramen had recently opened and wasn't far away. When I arrived two young ladies immediately greeted and seated me. The interior of the restaurant was richly decorated with Japanese art, wallpaper and super cute geisha dolls. It set a great warm mood. The ladies both went over the menu with me and were helpful to decide what I wanted. I ordered calamari rings, spicy shrimp ramen and a coke. The calamari rings came out in just a few minutes and were huge. They looked like large old school onion rings. Excellent calamari. Panko crusted, firm and tasty. The ramen came next. Also, just a few minutes after the calamari. Very good as well with just the right amount of spiciness to accent the broth. The broth had great body and flavor. Shrimp and vegetables were great too. Only suggestion for improvement is to allow the ramen noodles to soak up that broth and soften a bit before serving. A pretty minor observation for what I felt was a great find and excellent experience. The portions were very sizable and I ended up taking home more than half the meal. The next day I found the ramen had softened up having soaked up that broth. Oh it was delicious. Lastly, the price was right!

The curry tasted so good! It was a little more on the liquid side but the flavor was great! The sushi was good and the prices are even better!

The menu presented extensive and adventurous options that as first timers could have been intimidating but with the help of Donavin our delightful server, we selected the perfect seafood salad for the Mrs. and the curated selection of Maki (delicious sushi "tacos") that together made for the perfect share. Add to that a smooth Japanese beer and a surprisingly moderate overcast that made our dinner on the patio the perfect way to celebrate our first meeting 47 years ago. There were so many other tempting menu options that we'll look forward to sampling on our next for sure visit. Hopefully we will have the pleasure of having Donavin as our server even though our observation is that all the young people serving are helpful and gracious . The young ladies that greeted us and then ushered us to the patio were lovely and gracious. It was then that we met Donavin who became our adept curator for the evening. Whether you're craving sushi, teriyaki, or ramen, they really have something for everyone. The sushi and sashimi are incredibly fresh -- honestly some of the freshest fish we've had at any sushi restaurant. It tastes like the chef went out and caught it that morning. The 14-piece sashimi platter with a couple of rolls was more than enough for two people, and everything was excellent quality. The ramen is also fantastic, but fair warning: the bowls are HUGE, so definitely come hungry. Their garlic edamame is absolutely addictive, and we really enjoyed the poke in the seaweed poke salad, though the dish does lean very heavily on the seaweed, so just keep that in mind before ordering. Cassidy is new to the restaurant and waited on us. an Shewas wonderful -- super friendly, attentive, patient, and just genuinely great service all around. The only downside was the new menu design. The font is extremely tiny, printed on a small laminated sheet, and honestly very difficult to read. Hopefully they make the text larger in the future because the food itself is outstanding. Overall, highly recommend Shobu if you're looking for fresh sushi, excellent sashimi, hearty ramen, and great service.

Being Japanese, my Grandma typically craves Japanese food and only goes to places she enjoys. I wanted her to branch out, so I selected this spot. When we entered, the vibes were a bit off. It was summer in the valley, and it was hot. There was no AC inside, just fans, and we were literally sweating during our entire meal. It was quiet, very dark, and not clean--sticky floors and menu. The service was nice, but not very attentive. Regarding the food, we got two Bento Boxes and one Caterpillar Roll. For the price, the portion was good, but the quality and taste weren't the best. The tempura was really thick, and the shrimp was reminiscent of the frozen Costco shrimp tempura. The sashimi was stringy and of poor quality. The rolls we had were falling apart, and the avocado was mushy and not fresh. Everything we had was subpar at most, which is a shame considering how vast the menu is (lol at their AI pictures though). I wouldn't come back nor recommend what we got. Good Japanese food can be hard to come by in Fresno. I'd skip Shobu Japanese Cuisine due to the food quality and environment. Find them off Blackstone Ave. in the shopping complex with free parking.

I ordered a California Roll and a chicken platter which included bacon fried rice and a "Spicy Mayo Sauce". I got my order and it was packed with everything in its prepackage and ready to go containers. It all looked like it came out of a manufacturing facility. IMHO, the California Roll did not seem freshly made and came with a tiny cup of ginger with a pea sized wasabi. So, the California Roll was ok. The chicken was diced up in 1"to 1/2" cubes and was not moist at all. Rather, it was dry. Bad choice on my part. The rice was plain with pieces of bacon mixed with you grocery style frozen peas, carrots, corn and green bean combo. It tasted good because how can you ruin fried rice when you add extra oil to the plate. Not my most highly recommended place. I would have rather gone to Panda Express and paid about $12 for a tastier plate. The $27 I paid for the 2 items was just....too much! Especially for a primarily take joint:
