The experience was fun and nice. But the shrimp was poor quality and also the lady took my order wrong so I was the only person without fried rice for my appetizer. That was disappointing. On top of that she was the one who made a mistake and probably realized it so she came back and asked me if I was the one who wanted steamed rice to make it seem like I ordered that which I didn't. Mind you we were already half way into our meal. Then I said no I wanted the fried rice which is what i initially ordered so she told me it will cost extra. Then I said whatever I am already halfway through my meal and my boyfriend shared with me his portion. Like Jesus lady you made a mistake and tried to put it on me that I want steamed rice. Also the chef totally forgot my boyfriend's families allergies and proceeded to cook everything together. But thankfully someone reminded him that they had a shrimp allergy. Jesus! Hopefully they get their orders right for someone else.

Was fun meal because the chef made it fun. My steak was overcooked, though supposed to be medium rare but was well. Very dry. Didn't eat it. The apps and sides were good, and I was full when I left.

Fun place to go for celebrations. Loved the way that the chef interacted with us, he was pretty fun. It definitely is a popular place since there are a lot of people there, but fortunately we got a seat together. The food is good, nice proportions for the pricing. I've came here before in december and it was nice to celebrate graduation here in may :)

It's been years since I've gone to a hibachi restaurant and I don't know why it's been so long! I can't believe I'm writing this about a hibachi restaurant. We were hit with a dinner lull and wanted something a little exciting. Having a kid, we wanted something fun and entertaining, and wow, this place hit all the marks. Our kid especially enjoyed the experience and gobbled up the soup, fried rice and even some of the meat! Portions were huge, chicken was super tender, shrimp was cooked perfectly, and steak was surprising not bad. I loved the fried rice and veggies and I mean, who can go wrong with the yum yum sauce? I thought the price was a little overpriced but for dinner and a show, I can't wait for the next time to go back. Service was prompt, and very attentive. It was packed for a Wednesday night and will def make reservations next time. Don't know about the sushi bar, but can't wait to go back.

I've been to Sakura before, but sat on the sushi side of the restaurant. This time, I went with a group of friends for hibachi. The chef put on a good show with flames and throwing food to catch in your mouth. I ordered the mushrooms appetizer, and shrimp & filet minon combo. I loved the filet minon so much. It was tender and juicy! I highly recommend it. My husband's appetizer was chicken livers. I honestly wish I got that, but the mushrooms I got were good too. Aside from the chef we also had a server getting us our drinks and high chairs, as needed. All in all, it was really good time. I'll definitely be back.

I never thought I would frequent a hibachi place for their sushi but it's just such high tier sushi that I always make a left at the hostess stand to get to the sushi bar (instead of right towards hibachi). The cuts of fish are thick, the sauce on the spicy rolls have the best ratio of fish/Mayo/spicy, and the seared salmon melts in my mouth. When I come here, I don't crave the fancy rolls with a bunch of ingredients because I know their regular rolls already pack a bunch of flavor. The sushi price at Sakura being cheaper than the surrounding area helps me justify eating out here so often. A meal for me to be full costs ~$22 (for 2 rolls and 2 pieces of seared fish).

Celebrated our daughter's birthday here and it was so much fun. The food was delicious as always and our chef was wonderful. He was very interactive and kind. Salmon, Steak and shrimp all cooked perfectly. Portions are well worth the money.

After seeing the list, we chose Randy's. Randy's is a Great American Restaurant, and I must say it's so good to go to a GAR with a menu different from the others. In the past, I've written about how one can go to Coastal Flats and get pretty much the same menu as, for example, Jackson's. We made a reservation for 5 p.m. on a Saturday. We arrived about a half hour early, so we asked if they could seat us right then and there. The people at the host stand said "yes". We were seated at a 4-top booth. Thus, there was plenty of room. The booths, which have mohair seat coverings, were a shade of green and quite attractive. The environment clearly says "upscale steakhouse." Our server was prompt in getting to us and asked if we wanted some water. We chose tap water. He gave us time to look over the menu. We decided to not have any appetizers as we didn't want to get too full. To drink, my husband got a glass of Catena Malbec while I got an Espresso Martini. Our server asked if we wanted some bread. We said "yes". The bread basket had 2 flaky, buttery croissants, plus a slice of white bread and a slice with raisins. For our main course, we both got the 7 oz. filet mignon cooked medium rare. We chose to try two sides. One side was "roasted asparagus" which consists of: "poached egg, parmesan (we asked for no cheese and our request was honored), truffled Bernaise aioli". The second side was "Honey roasted organic rainbow carrots," which were "dusted with candied walnuts". As for the food --- We both thought our steaks were properly cooked, However, my husband said his was on the dry side while mine was just right. We both really enjoyed the side dishes. The asparagus was unconventional, to be sure. Never did I have a poached egg with asparagus. I ate the egg, and it was properly cooked. Looking back, I should have thought to put some salt on it as there was none. The truffled sauce was creamy and added nice flavor. The carrots, to me anyway, were a pleasant surprise. The honey added a nice flavor along with the candied walnuts. They, too, were cooked perfectly. As for being "rainbow" carrots, most were orange, with some white and yellow ones. We had some room for dessert, so we decided to share "Tressa's crispy meringue filled with lemon curd and finished with passionfruit coulis". Since it was our anniversary dinner, a dollop of whipped cream was added to the plate. In that dollop was a lit candle, which was a nice touch. I found the coulis to be on the tart side. The lemon curd was mildly flavored. Service was excellent, though dessert took a while ,to arrive. All in all, a nice splurge and we're glad we came here. (Well...we didn't care for the traffic on Leesburg Pike, but the dinner made it worth the trip).

The atmosphere: The restaurant is beautifully decorated, with a warm and inviting ambiance. There is plenty of spacious booth seating, which made for a comfortable dining experience. The food: My table started with the Crispy Fried Point Judith Calamari to share. I have a peanut and tree nut allergy and didn't initially realize that the dish included pesto. The staff promptly remade the appetizer without the pesto, which I appreciated. However, the interaction left me feeling a bit like an inconvenience based on the tone of the response. For my entrée, I ordered the Patsy's 5 Star Reserve Rib Eye. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare and was absolutely delicious. I also added a side of the House Steak Sauce, and it paired wonderfully with the steak. I highly recommend trying it if you're someone who enjoys dipping sauces with your steak! The service: Overall, the service was pleasant. The staff was kind, attentive, and ensured we had everything we needed throughout the meal. While there were a few minor hiccups, I enjoyed my visit and would return to try more of the menu.

The salmon, while the best part of the dish, still left more to be desired. It was a bit dry and I didn't think the sauce was all that flavorful. As soon as we entered, General Manager Sam welcomed us like old friends. After we were seated, my wife asked if he had previously worked at The Dabney, and sure enough, that's where we recognized him from. It was great catching up as he shared what he'd been doing since then and how his dream had always been to open his own restaurant. Seeing that dream come to life made the evening feel even more special. The restaurant was busy (definitely make reservations), but we were able to enjoy cocktails while we waited for our table. My Grey Goose martini with bleu cheese olives was phenomenal and set the tone for the rest of the meal. We started with the Bison Tartare and the Ceviche. The bison tartare was leaner than traditional beef tartare, and the crispy chips added the perfect savory crunch. The ceviche was incredibly fresh and bright. For our entrées, I had the ribeye while my wife ordered the Dory. The ribeye was cooked perfectly--juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. My wife couldn't stop talking about how buttery and delicious the fish was. To finish the evening, we ordered the 100-Year Port Flight featuring 10-, 20-, 30-, and 40-year ports. Vertical tastings are such a fun way to experience how a wine evolves over time. The 40-year was absolutely outstanding, and the 20-year was another favorite. The 10-year was enjoyable but still showed its youthful character compared to the older vintages. The atmosphere strikes a nice balance between upscale and relaxed. The main dining room can feel a little tight when the restaurant is full, while the bar area has a few TVs for anyone wanting to catch a game. One thoughtful touch that stood out was the women's restroom being stocked with amenities like hair ties and hair clips. We noticed they also offer a tasting menu, and after this experience, that's already on our list for our next visit. Between the outstanding hospitality, exceptional food, excellent cocktails, and welcoming atmosphere, Evelyn Rose absolutely earned five stars.

The Sea Bass was cooked well but not much seasoning, mostly the lemon sauce. We were told the Seafood Cioppino was spicy but there really not much spice at all. The Calamari was solid though. The vibe of the restaurant seemed more business so might have not been the right choice for a birthday dinner. No one acknowledged or asked about special occasions (I don't care since it was for me, I didn't make the reservation). The food was ok but I'm not sure I'll be dying to come back.
