Be sure to make a reservation beforehand as it tends to get crowded especially during dinner. Even if you make a reservation, many people still had to wait for a short period. The hibachi chefs are all skilled. Each of the chefs have a standard performance they follow but adds in their own unique spin to it or some comedic effect. That way your hibachi experience will be a little different each time you come. The food was both plentiful and flavorful. They give you a large portion of meats, veggies, noodles, and rice. I have been going to Sakura for years. Typically, the food is good. I ordered from Doordash and ordered what I usually order. I got the California Rolls for myself and a co-worker. They put fish roe on half of the order. I called and informed them that we did not order fish roe on the Calif rolls. They said I could come in and they could make me a new order. My co-worker went there to get the order corrected. This was 3 or 4 hours later, after work. They refused to make her a new order and just scrapped the fish roe off. The sushi had been sitting out for hours and they would not correct the order. I will never be going back. This restaurant is more concerned about making money than giving people the right order or even correcting the order. They kept saying that the menu had it on there and we kept telling them it was optional for an additional price, and we did not want that. read more

This is one of our favorite celebration spots to go to! This location always gets you seated quickly and has the best and most funny chefs. We both got the chicken teriyaki and it was full and packed with flavor. They are very accommodating of eating preferences and food allergies. Come for dinner and a show... leave happy! All food is seasoned perfectly and cooked so well. You get an appetizer (2 shrimp, chicken liver, etc.), fried rice, noodles, vegetables, and your main meat(s). All included with the dinner price. The portion for lunch I thought was really good for the price and even two of our colleagues order veggie and tofu and it was abundant! It's been years since I've gone to a hibachi restaurant and I don't know why it's been so long! I can't believe I'm writing this about a hibachi restaurant. We were hit with a dinner lull and wanted something a little exciting. Having a kid, we wanted something fun and entertaining, and wow, this place hit all the marks. Our kid especially enjoyed the experience and gobbled up the soup, fried rice and even some of the meat! Portions were huge, chicken was super tender, shrimp was cooked perfectly, and steak was surprising not bad. I loved the fried rice and veggies and I mean, who can go wrong with the yum yum sauce? I thought the price was a little overpriced but for dinner and a show, I can't wait for the next time to go back. Service was prompt, and very attentive. I've been to Sakura before, but sat on the sushi side of the restaurant. This time, I went with a group of friends for hibachi. The chef put on a good show with flames and throwing food to catch in your mouth. I ordered the mushrooms appetizer, and shrimp & filet minon combo. I loved the filet minon so much. It was tender and juicy! I highly recommend it. My husband's appetizer was chicken livers. I honestly wish I got that, but the mushrooms I got were good too. Aside from the chef we also had a server getting us our drinks and high chairs, as needed. All in all, it was really good time. I'll definitely be back. read more

I never thought I would frequent a hibachi place for their sushi but it's just such high tier sushi that I always make a left at the hostess stand to get to the sushi bar (instead of right towards hibachi). The cuts of fish are thick, the sauce on the spicy rolls have the best ratio of fish/Mayo/spicy, and the seared salmon melts in my mouth. When I come here, I don't crave the fancy rolls with a bunch of ingredients because I know their regular rolls already pack a bunch of flavor. The sushi price at Sakura being cheaper than the surrounding area helps me justify eating out here so often. A meal for me to be full costs ~$22 (for 2 rolls and 2 pieces of seared fish). read more

The bottom line is that Sakura has a show it puts on and the food is good. If you went three times per week then the show would get kinda old but the food remains good. We don't go that often - though we did when there was one in Olney, MD. The chef was entertaining and the food was cooked to everyone's liking. I wouldn't rate the filet mignon as excellent but it was fine. I still contend that my favorite fried rice at any restaurant comes from Sakura. It just blends well. Also, the servings are massive. I was impressed with their ability to handle a seafood allergy from our group. Some other reviews claim that this place is showing its age but I found it clean and bright so maybe I'm a pushover. To me, the food was good. My wife said she thought the food was bland. One person at our table did put additional salt on their food. There was just too much food. One couple at our table for ten was sharing an entree, which in hindsight, would have been a good idea. With soup, salad, rice, vegetables, noodles and the entree, it would have been plenty for two people. We brought the leftovers home. This location is clearly busy; especially on a Saturday night. My college-aged daughter was here with a group and as soon as their chef, Tony, arrived at the table he immediately singled her out calling her "baby" and making lewd and overly flirtatious comments. She was very uncomfortable the entire time. I went to the restaurant the next day and explained to the manger what happened. He was not happy about it but did not seem overly concerned. I then asked to speak to Tony who ended up denying that he cooked for them even thought the entire group remembered his name and he's the only Tony that works there. Came here for a work holiday dinner right when they opened. It had been years since I had been to this location, but I already remember it being good and well prepared and very tasty. Friendly staff and great and personable chef. We ordered drinks and sushi and everything came prepared correctly. The Japanese crab cake sushi was amazing and so delicious. When I go, I always order my salad without dressing. It isn't that I don't like it, it is just that I don't like it swimming in dressing. They got it right and brought my salad to me plain. The soup was hot and delicious. The sake was good and hot, though it kept getting cool very quickly. Our meals were prepared with care and were filling and delicious. The only reason for one less star is that though I love the fried rice, my stomach doesn't handle the yum yum sauce very well and I tend to get sick after eating it (which is why I don't use it for anything else). I would love to be able to get fried rice prepared without the yum yum sauce, even if my fried rice can't be prepared on the grill with everything else. I will likely ask about that in the future when I visit Sakura again. Other than the fried rice issue, everything was good. My filet was prepared at the correct temperature of medium rare and my shrimp and lobster were also prepared deliciously. The vegetables were good, though I should have ordered double veggies as some of my co-workers did. Great restaurant, fun holiday meal with co-workers and delicious food. We used to go to Sakura in Vienna when we lived in that area. But, now our in Chantilly it had been years since we are here. And it was a pleasure. The hibachi was delicious with all the right spices and meats cooked to order. The chef was entertaining for our kids. The sushi was surprisingly good, better than anything else we have tried in the area. The yellow tail in particular was tasty and the wasabi was actually spicy. I arrived here a little early and had a cocktail while I was waiting for my friends to arrive. I ordered the Fujiyama cocktail, which is a concoction of vodka and a banana cream mixture. Felt very safe inside with the proper COVID-19 protocols in place. They require masks and take your temperature at the front. But at the same time, we weren't able to get the full hibachi experience. They have a chef at another table nearby (no diners at the table) cooking all of the food on the cook top. Then, he transfers the cooked food onto plates, which the waitresses deliver to the customer. It would have been fun if the table was turned around so that we could have watched him cook the food. Regardless, we still ordered tons of drinks (no souvenir cups, though!) and had a great time. The hibachi chef cooking our food interacted with us, made a few jokes, and even joined us at our table towards the end to throw some chicken in our mouth. When he found out that it was one of our friends birthday celebration, he brought a bag of leftover Halloween candy and gave some to each of us. If you are seated at a table with a child that orders no meal whether it be kids meal or adult meal, you will receive half the portion size as the chef will give the child with no order full size portion meals. So your meal value will be non existent. Instead of full spatula portions, you will get half a spatula. Basically, you are paying for that specified child's meal with your own meal.
