Chef was entertaining and very engaged with each of us that sat around the hibachi grill. The food was excellent and definitely five star. The disappointing thing about our experience was that our drinks were always empty we could not get the waiter to keep them refilled , the salad and sushi came out after the hibachi was complete,and there were only 15-20 patrons in the restaurant at the time. Have dined here since they have opened. We loved sitting at the hibachi table and regular dining at the bar. Service has really declined since then. Recently had dinner with a party of 10 for a birthday. Our chicken was tough...literally could not eat, shrimp was decent, veggies over cooked, steak over cooked, portions were extremely rationed, drinks were never refilled. I had to go to the bar to ask someone to come clear our soup/salad bowls and refill drinks. A big disappointment-- not interested in going back. Requested a specific chef, who we waited on and then they placed him at another table. Could be the other chef had no experience but no excuse for wait staff. read more

My husband and I decided to try Sakura today. The facility is clean and pleasing in appearance. The service was friendly and efficient. The food leaves much to be desired. Both my husband and I ordered the hibatchi filet mignon (medium rare) and shrimp, The beef was tough and over cooked, causing us to speculate as to whether or not it was actually filet mignon. Terrible service. My friend and I met at the bar for dinner and drinks last night and told the bartender we each had living social coupons. He said okay and we ordered asking him to make sure we both got up to $30. When it came time to pay he told us we were not allowed to use both of our living socials and could only use one. Then, I'm assuming he was the owner, came out and yelled at us in the middle of the restaurant. He was practically screaming and threw the coupons at us and stormed off. He refused to come back out and talk to us and the bartender wouldn't help us in anyway. It's sad because we come here all the time but we will never come back here after the way we were treated. We've been here several times with friends that like it better than we do. It's "OK". Food is typical hibachi style and there is a lot of it. We've had cooks that were good and cooks that were so-so. Went here because of a $30 Living Social deal. First off, I ordered a Makers on the rocks, it was $8.00 for a pretty pitiful pour. Then the salads came, if you want to call it a salad. It was a bowl of lettuce with a sliver or cucumber and a sliver of tomato. The Filet and Chicken hibachi was pretty decent, needed more salt though (pretty unusual for Japanese food). My wife and I ate here for the first time Monday evening. We're both vegetarians, so we ordered the hibachi vegetables, an avocado roll, and a tempura sweet potato roll. The sushi was great, the dinner was average, but the service left ALOT to be desired. They were way understaffed for dinner service, and it took way too long to get our food and to get our drinks refilled. Several customers left while we were there because of how long it took them to get served. One couple left because they were refused a seat at a table that was clearly open and remained open the entire time we were there. We also thought the price was a little high for the amount and quality of food received. If we ever return to this restaurant, it will be during their happy hour for half off sushi and drinks. I don't think we'll ever go back for dinner. read more

My wife and I frequent this place for their awesome happy hour food specials. Happy hour hibachi ends at 6, but happy hour sushi lasts till 6:30, which we can usually get to in time. Rolls are only 6 pieces instead of 8, but it's still a good deal and they taste fresh (and i eat the raw stuff too). Will return! read more

I am going to give this 3 stars, with the option to revise at a later date. Ordered sushi to go, but I got a good feeling when I went inside to pick it up. Nice atmosphere overall. I realized when I got home that I was missing a roll, but that was partly my fault for not checking. The sushi itself did not taste super fresh, and my entire family agreed. However, I do not think sushi is the main draw. The hibachi grill was impressive looking, and I believe the food from that end is the main draw. I would not go back for the sushi, but I would be willing to give the grill a shot because it was a clean and comfortable setting. read more

I came here with my grandmother recently. The server was friendly and the sushi was decent, but nothing special. The pricing was average and what I expected. Absolutely fantastic for lunch. I ordered a bento box, with teriyaki salmon and a California roll, my girlfriend ordered the teriyaki chicken and my 18 month old had tuna rolls. The entrees were served promptly, each with a salad. Being the glutton that I am, I tried a bite of everyone's food and was quite pleased. The teriyaki sauce they use is FANTASTIC, very smooth, sweet and reminds you slightly of a barbeque sauce. The salmon was very good, the pork buns included in my bento box were AMAZING and the chicken was moist and in the accompaniment of some squash and vegetables. The sushi rolls however, we rather bland. Then again, we ordered some bland sushi lol. The real kicker was when we received the check, coming in easily $10 less than I would have expected. We love Sakura! The price is cheaper than most hibachi restaurants. There is hardly ever a wait to be seated.

This is a fun little place if you're in the mood for dinner and a show. Not fantastic food, but lots of it and usually tasty. You can have the hibachi show, or just order off the menu, though that's where you might run into trouble as the regular wait staff usually speaks pretty poor English and might not understand what you want or even pay attention to whether you're doing OK or not. They do have some fun alcoholic concoctions like "Dreaming Dragon," but my advice is to bring a group and do the show. read more

Food is absolutely amazing! The hibachi chefs are always talkative, funny, and talented. The only thing I don't like about the place is sometimes the service in the wait staff can be spotty . First and last time coming to this place. Went there to celebrate my friends bachelorette party, and things started off good. When the chef came around passing our soups and salads, the chef grabs a soups and instead of placing it on the table he slides it and it lands all over my friends chest and legs. Keep in mind this soup is hot. The chef NEVER ONCE apologize, but instead laughed about it. Second of all he got all of our orders wrong. But we didn't make a big deal about it but when we asked to speak to the manager our waitress (who did the best job she could. Props to her) comes back and said the manager said she would give us a discount. Which we said ok. When the new bill comes out she gave us a 10% discount. 10% guys. Money comes and goes. But never once did she como to apologize. When we asked to speak to manager once again, she comes out literally jerks the bill out of my friends hand and comes with with a discount of 2 more dollars. Really? It's not about the money. It's about the poor attitude she gives. She got upset and basically said the chef had insurance and that it's ok to throw soup at a customer. And you know what's the worst part? That this chef has had manyyy multiple complaints about him. This is coming from another couple who was sitting near by and stated the last time they were there the chef did the same thing but with the boiling water they clean the griddle with. I ordered 3 sushi rolls to dinner. The first one had some bad taste . The second was shrimp tempura and the shrimp was so over burned . The last one was disgusting and I told the manager to change for something else . She was pretty rude to me and said since I ate 1 piece of this disgusting roll I will be charge for it . ( I paid $2.75 for that damn piece) I find it very awkward. Never in my life I was told to eat something I don't want and pay for it . Food was delicious besides the dragon roll. The chef was wonderful. The waiter was quiet but not to bad but the hostess was horrible. She is the one who took the bill applied a coupon that wasn't mine and I didn't notice and signed anyway then she took my bill and changed the price.I realize it wasn't my coupon but the way she did it was really rude and typical if you make that type of mistake that was $5 people just write it off not say "don't leave your bill is wrong I have to add to it" after its signed and you write a tip. read more

My second visit to Sakura was no better than the first. The food is good but the service is quite lacking. Point blank, they need more help. We started out ordering some sushi and an appetizer. We then ordered a hibachi combination to share. First off our hibachi came out first and it was cold. They were very polite about this and eventually brought us another plate of food that was perfectly cooked. Our sushi was sitting on the bar for a long time due to our waitress being very overwhelmed with too many tables to handle. Then our appetizer came out. I wish I could recommend this restaurant because the food is absolutely delicious but if they do not get at least one more server I have to say it's not worth the time to go sit and not be taken care of. read more

Normally one of my favorite Japanese steakhouses to go to. everytime I go it's very delicious and service is good. I came here the they night to have a nice dinner. we didn't sit at the tables we sat out in the lounge area near the sushi bar. service was good as usual but this time the food was not delectable. I had the teriyaki chicken like I normally do. the zucchini was undercooked and not seasoned like normal. where as the chicken was chewy. hopefully the next time I come back it's better cause normally it's amazing. read more

The restaurant seemed nice, and he hostess was nice also. The restaurant looked nice, but looks can be deceiving. We were sat at a table, and shortly afterward, the waiter came by and whispered that the table hadn't been cleaned yet, and started wiping the table while we were reading our menus. The waiter was quiet the entire time, whispering so quietly it was difficult to hear him. After ordering our food we watched as some sushi was prepared and then sat on the counter. Two men were standing by having a conversation by that sushi. 25 minutes later the waiter comes out of the kitchen picks up the sushi and hands it to my friend along with the rest of the food. The sushi was room temperature and gross. Raw sushi like this is a breeding ground for bacteria, and should be eaten cold. It shouldn't have been left out for as long as it was. The rest of us ordered mango chicken. The plating was pretty epic, but again, looks can be deceiving. The chicken was very dry, some pieces were even hard and tough to chew. Not even some white sauce was enough to make the chicken good. I've had better mango chicken at the mall, and for a fraction of the cost. The salads we received with our meals were mediocre. Entire chunks of lettuce, and tomatos made the bites hard to fit in your mouth, while my salad seemed to be sitting in a soup of ranch and water. The manager was not very helpful, getting angry at us when we said the food wasn't good. Our food was comped, but the service was still bad, and the food was worse. read more
