We got sat right away. Our server was ok. She seemed very rushed and annoyed in general. She took a while to take our order even though we can clearly see her at the bar texting on her phone. The chef was good. He was funny and engaging and really entertained my daughter since it was her first time at a hibachi place. Generous portions of food. Our server was slow. They forgot my rice. But they were really fast! It only took them 20 minutes to put my order together. And after I ate, only 40 more minutes to have violent diarrhea. Total butt mud. In the woods. Unrelated, if you are looking for a great place to hike, try Paris Mountain State Park. But stay on the trail unless you wanna find a nasty surprise. We had Jenny Marie, she was horrible. We had to wait 10 minutes for her to come ask what we wanted to drink and there was nobody else there. She came out smacking her lips wiping food off of her face. She said the roll was "rolling down her face". It was an act of congress to get more than one cup of sauce for our hibachi, and when we asked for more I was scared I felt like I was threatened and she mumbled insults as she walked away. A few minutes later we see her downing shots of sake like frat boy at a party. She came back to the table grunting and apologized to the people next to us for not being able to handle her liquor while on the job serving customers. The table paid cash for our bills, and that was the quickest I had seen her move all night when she saw us get up from the table, assuming we hadn't paid. In conclusion Jenny Marie count your days working there, I personally would have fired you on the spot. I love Sakura but it is a shame the kind of people they have working there. read more

I normally go for the sit down dinner and show in front of the hibachi grill, but there was football on TV. I sat at the bar and they prepared my meal in the back and served it to me. Everything was great. It's a very nice place to go to. read more

My wife and I have eaten here multiple times. We both are fans of good Asian food. The restaurant is clean. Service is ok. We had the teppanyaki grill table with family one evening and it was decent. The chefs are not nearly as skilled as chefs in better known Japanese steak houses. We usually order luncheon boxes so we can sample a variety of foods. The food has been pretty mediocre. We had a table of 12 and yes a reservation. We were seated right on time. The servers were very accommodating as we had 6 children with us. The hibachi chef was very entertaining and the food was cook to everyone's tastes. We had a great time and lots of food as we all took a container home. Recommend you give this a try. Came here for the early bird and was thoroughly impressed with the food. Our chef wasn't the best performer but he sure could cook up some good food that was actually seasoned perfectly for once. The rice didn't need any extra soy sauce, the steak was cooked perfectly medium rare, and the shrimp wasn't overcooked. Kudos to the chef. We also got the sushi and it wasn't bad either. It had the right ratio of rice to fish to veggies. Only thing is that the sushi rice wasn't soft enough, but it's not like we paid top dollar for this. I told the waitress I had a mushroom allergy and to please not bring any mushrooms to the table. She proceeds to bring my meal loaded with mushrooms in it. Of course she says, "I'm sorry". But that doesn't mean sh*t. You just put down something in front of me that would have sent me to the hospital if I hadn't noticed and "I'm sorry" just really isn't enough. Sakura Restaurant at Pleasanburg Greenville SC Great food. The young waitress girl was very attentive and served the food with a smile. My husband ordered the house entree salad, house soup followed by a delicious fillet mignon with a delicious sauce, some spinach, oranges, and rice. I enjoyed miso soup, sea weed salad, smoke salmon. With ginger and the hot green spice, with some warm and delicious green Japanese tea. And a lobster tail at the end. Everything was so perfect! We enjoyed our time. Just few things: 1st: the lady at the front entrance didn't welcomed us with a smile and directed us to go and sit away somewhere else, instead of the place we asked for upon arriving. She said that we had to wait 4 hrs to eat inside that area. We spend 1:40 hrs eating at Sakura. The glass windows were dirty. We also noticed there were few people that got there after us, who were being taken care of, and we saw them at the place we asked for at the beginning. On our way out, we didn't looked at the same lady who didn't smile at the door, neither said good bye to her. Maybe the salad portion could be a little bit more instead of just 3 pieces of lettuce and half of the tomato sliced in two. We left a tip for the girl though, that girl was refined! That is until today, on her little brothers birthday for a party of 9 we arrived at 4:32 and had a reservation at 4:30 and wanted to get our table while some of the others were still getting out the car, only for the hostess to get the manager on us and she was terribly rude for no reason. Saying that everyone has to be inside for us to get a table...? She was basically making things more complicated for no reason instead of just getting us the table we asked for. When we use to go for a regular table we never had a problem but this time we wanted the food cooked in front of us. My son couldn't decide what he wanted for lunch with the family for his birthday, finally we decided on Sakura. This is the full on Teppanyaki experience with the chef, the cart, the egg in a hat, etc. Since we had a large group of 14, we took up two of the grill tops and one chef was used to accommodate the whole party. I'm guessing part of the food experience suffered as not everything was cooked as perfectly as has been my past experience here. The staff were all very friendly, and the chef was as champ. At one point he sang us a song from his church which was cool, let's just say it was a joyful noise. It's good to know he has a day job. Sakura is one we've driven past many times in a strip mall location out Cherrydale way and one recent evening we said, let's try it. I thought it was just fine. It is the usual deal, hibachi show and cooking. We got filet and shrimp. The food was all good quality. Our chef was fun and enthusiastic. Service was fine and I appreciate a hard job dealing with these multi-groups around the grill. We got sake which our server kept flowing and was attentive. We got basically everything we were looking for in this kind of restaurant and Sakura hit all the right spots for us. I called in my order for chicken and salmon hibachi, hibachi chicken and teriyaki chicken they like it'll be ready in 15 minutes no it took about 25 minutes. I check my order they charged me for a side salmon which is same price as a meal I'm like why would i just want the salmon and not the meal you didn't say you didn't have a option for the combo when i called and if you would of said it's same price i would of def got the meal! My friends and I got a takeout order of the Hibachi dinners on a busier Friday night. We chose takeout to mitigate our risk of exposure as we are living on a college campus, however if that's your goal, we'd recommend that you don't do takeout here on a Friday or Saturday night. For Covid reasons alone, we can't really recommend visiting as when we arrived to pick up our dinners, there were numerous unmasked families in the lobby and we were met with an unmasked staff member to get our food. Social distancing and masks are both not enforced at this restaurant. However, on the topic of food, we also can't really recommend this restaurant either. My steak was supposed to be cooked medium and it was extremely well done and unseasoned. My friends chicken was mildly undercooked. The miso soup was extremely salty and none of us could handle more than a few sips of it. read more

I've eaten here twice. Friendly staff, great food, great hibachi chefs, but expect a fairly long wait on the weekend, and the place can get uncomfortably packed really quick. The only thing I find odd about this place is that it seems to draw a good portion of seemingly upset, fast-food walmart-looking folk, along with the occasional and belligerent odd drunk who goes after the staff for having to wait their turn like everyone else. The menu has your standard Japanese steakhouse, but everything I ate tasted very expensive and flavors were highly developed. The yaki noodles are made in house. The hibachi rice is seasoned with house ground seasonings, not oil and soy sauce. Food presentation is on point. Gyoza was fresher than fresh and cooked to perfection. Nothing was greasy or too rich. I ordered lunch from their online website. There are 11 people I ordered for, so the cost was almost $200. I paid via Apple Pay, and it was taken out of my account, but the restaurant sent me a text saying the order failed. I called the restaurant to see what we could do to fix it, but they said the online platform was a "third party" and there's nothing they can do about it. I'll have to wait 5-10 business days for a refund from them. Almost $200 worth of food- with no food and no refund given to order again. Absolutely terrible customer service. Almost 2 weeks to wait for a refund is unacceptable. read more
