Great and friendly service! Nice date night place! Great food! It was fancy but home town feel as well. The only thing that I wish would be some handheld items that weren't sushi.

Bread and butter which was good

Parking is difficult but after 3 times around, I got lucky. I have heard so much about this place and went when it was burger night which was a good deal. Well, apparently it states a beer and burger but you can only get the most basic domestic ones like bud. I asked if they could credit and I pay more for a different domestic or wine and was told no so I didn't get the burger. I ended up ordering the tuna tartar and a speciality salad. The waitress was really nice, very attentive. I did notice she told the table next to me specials but not the burger one (which i had read about and brought up). Back to the food, the tuna tartar was just not good. The salad was ok and not satisfying after the tuna. They do provide bread and a mix of butters so that is the (only) highlight. The atmosphere was good but if the food isn't all that great, its not worth it.

This is my favorite restaurant due to the filet mignon. It is served with the perfect pairings. However, every time I visit there is a problem to some extent. The service is terrible and you should expect to be there for a while. It took me 35 minutes sitting at a table before I met my waitress. It is a nicer restaurant but the service does not align with the quality of environment and food they serve.

Heard good things about this restaurant and the menu seemed interesting. When I made the reservation I didn't realize there is a casual bar side and a more formal restaurant side. Our reservations were in the restaurant side. I was wearing jeans and I felt comfortable. There were people there who were dressed up. We had a group of five. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Definitely is now one of my favorite places to eat in Pendleton.

The service was excellent. We were on the informal Side of the restaurant and they have a reservation only side of the restaurant. Rustic ambiance with sports tv on the wall in side of restaurant. A large wine, beer and drink menu! I had the seafood pasta which you can choose white or red sauce. I chose traditional red sauce which was very flavorful and had mild spices. It had clams mussels, scallops and shrimp with angel hair pasta. It was amazing. All the shellfish was cooked perfectly. The plus was NO SAND in the shellfish!!! Topped with fresh Parmesan. My husband had the stroganoff made with premium ground beef and fettuccini type noodles in a brown sauce. He loved the flavors. The stroganoff was topped with feta cheese which gave the meal just enough saltiness! Dessert was crème brûlée that was served at room temperature which I prefer with a nice crisp top and a strawberry. I had the brown sugar bourbon pecan cheesecake that was enough for two. Large slice! The food is high end, prices are above average but the food is worth every dollar! They also serve sushi rolls as a dinner. Great for a special occasion or date night! Going back for anniversary celebration! Bon apitito!

I'm between a 3 and a 5 - 5 for the food and 3 for everything else. I would have felt like maybe the restaurant was just having an off day before I read other reviews and realized it seems like there are lots of days when something is off here ... We had a reservation for 5 with my 96 YO Grandfather. He is in generally good health and utilizes a cane but I'm not so sure they utilized good service or judgment placing us on the second floor of the restaurant - especially since there were LOTS of tables on the first floor that were never occupied during the entirety of our visit. There is no elevator - he wobbled/hobbled up the narrow stairs while the rest of us stressed this would be what did him in. I believe the power had went out at some point before our visit - whether it permanently affected the AC, no idea - we might as well have eaten in hell it was SO HOT (especially on that second floor) - it was at least 77 degrees (in our fancy attire) with NO air and no hint that the air was actually working. I felt most for our server who had on long black pants and long sleeves and had to go up and down the stairs so many times. She was delightful - probably the only saving grace for this review. The food was good. For the price point, the lack of "extra" is definitely noticeable ... the front house of staff is just off - no extra welcome greeting (in fact when I checked in for our reservation, the man was annoyed - our reservation was for 5 and he asked me with a slight tone, "So you need a 5-top?" ... I said, "I'm sorry I don't know what you mean with a 5-top, is it an elevated table top because my Grandpa can't sit on that." With his annoyed face and tone he replied, "No it means a table for 5.") ... the server and good food are what saved this review. Anything less and I would have left a 2 or 3 star. Just way too hot and unwelcoming. PS the sushi was good - def an elevated and delicious sushi experience.

Who serves a New York steak in a bowl? Steak was tough and half was fat.Daughter fish was so dry and here is the kicker I asked to tasted the jalapeño butter for steak and Server brought out a tiny portion o wouldn't even call it that.Ask server really that's it told me the chef said that's all I could get. And when steak came out it was just as bad. What kind of chef puts that on the special and not have enough to put on a steak or even request more?Golden Corral. Serves a better steak and fish than this place. That chef must have came from Burger King.Im sorry Burger King is better.

Crab cakes and scallops appetizers

Husband and I decided to have date night at Blue Heron. We did not have a reservation but went in right at opening. Hostess said they were fully booked for the evening but had space for us coming in so early. Warm bread was good but the butter made it better. We opted for the scallops and crab cakes for apps. They were okay but not memorable. The star of the evening was the pork chop. Super flavorful and presentation was great.

Happy Birthday Sue!

Our group of 8 was seated right inside the entrance of the restaurant and my back was to the lake side view. Therefore, I can only say I experienced a typical hotel bar restaurant vibe. Our server did a good job-even taking a minute to take a group photo for us. The brunch menu had a variety of choices. I chose the Renfrow Wings off of the Shareables Menu and a side salad. This consisted of 13 chicken wings so I had plenty of left overs. I ordered 1/2 teriyaki and 1/2 bbq. It was hard to distinguish between the two, but they were good. I need to go back and give this restaurant another try. This time I'll make sure to enjoy the view, maybe even sit outside on the patio if it's cool enough. I know this sounds strange, but I'm giving them a 4 star in anticipation of that lake view...

Unfortunately Rick Erwin's missed the mark on its primary assignment. The restaurant is nicely decorated in the style of a steakhouse. Dark wood paneling and shutters adorn the walls with pleasant dim lighting shining down from above. Service was strong with a team serving our table. We were greeted immediately and offered water and a drink. However, we were not offered bread, which is unusual for a steakhouse. Our appetizer of Buffalo Cauliflower was just ok. The breading had a subtle after-taste, which may have been from the batter being undercooked. And the buffalo sauce was not very prominent. So the dish was not as strong as I would have wanted. For our main course, we ordered the porterhouse for two--the signature dish at any steakhouse. Unfortunately, it fell short. When the steak arrived, it lacked the expected presentation; it had been grilled rather than broiled and was served without the usual butter or sizzling finish. That missing sizzle wasn't just visual--it showed in the flavor. A proper porterhouse should have a rich, salty, buttery finish, but this one was surprisingly bland. Just as disappointing, instead of being presented as the centerpiece of the table, the steak was served on a plate that we were apparently expected to eat directly from. It felt odd and took away from what should have been a standout experience. Overall, this was a below average experience for a steakhouse. We will try it again down the road since the choices near Clemson are limited. But Rick Erwin's should really revisit what it is trying to be and then decide how to be that.

For appetizers we got the clam chowder, not shy on the clam, was very tasty and a side salad with maple bacon vinaigrette, nice and refreshing. Something called to me to get the crab cake and since it's an appetizers I ordered that with a side of street corn. Upon first sight, I felt maybe they went a bit light on the remoulade but the flavor from the crab cake itself was incredible, and the remoulade was a nice enhancement. Any more would've overpowered the flavor of the crab cake itself. They did it right and the street corn was also delicious. Pimento Cheese Rockefeller Shucks pimento cheese and jalapeño pepper jelly. I didn't know what to expect from this but we are adventurous and I'm glad. This may be my favorite of the evening! We also got the Butter Parmesan Rockefeller which was heavenly. Next onto the raw oysters. We opted for gulf, Virginia, and NC and ended up ordering more VA & NC. Normally I use lot of horseradish and coctail sauce but the mignonette was so delicious that about half way through I only used that. Finally, and I wish I had gotten a picture, we talked ourselves into getting the crème brûlée cheesecake, diets be damned. I love crème brûlée and the hubby loves cheesecake. This became apparent when after a few bites we made a deal that I eat the top and he can have the bottom this was a win win for us! All the food was a hit, we loved our server, and the location and ambiance! Not only will we be back, I could see us becoming regulars. The hubby loves raw oysters/seafood and I'm coming around. Everything I ate was fabulous and I would order any of it again though there are other menu items I want to try as well. Thanks Shucks for a great night out. We will be back!
