Shrimp Teriyaki

There was way less food than normal. The new container that they use holds less food, so it was less filling. The food was done in about 10 minutes and it was hot and fresh. I did not eat inside the restaurant but it appeared to be clean. The person that took the order was pleasant and nice.

REVIEW UPDATE: December 15, 2023 Since the original review in 2021 I've returned a few times and the food was delicious. I'm giving this restaurant a 4* knowing that it is a restaurant in a league of takeout restaurants. I typically specify restaurant class when giving reviews so that Yelpers understand that a 4* for a takeout restaurant is not the same as a 4* for an upscale dine-in restaurant. Primarily a take-out restaurant this place consistently produces delicious teriyaki and hibachi. The ordering process is seamless and quality of the food is good. You can see them prepare the food on the grill using good cooking technique to cook the proteins. Overall a good experience and I will continue to visit. ORIGINAL REVIEW: December 16, 2021 For a local Hibachi and Teriyaki restaurant this place meets the mark. At the same time when it comes to Hibachi and Teriyaki takeout in the local area you have to go in with lower expectations because sometimes the customer service and quality can be a mixed bag from fresh and exceptional to downright offensive. Sakura Hibachi and Poke seems to take pride in their dishes. I ordered the Chicken & Steak Hibachi with a side order of Shrimp Tempura. Flavors for both dishes were near equal to the quality at a dine-in Hibachi restaurant. I asked for some teriyaki sauce on my chicken and steak and they poured just the right amount. They didn't drench my food in the sauce nor did they come up short. Food seemed to be fresh. However I would have liked to see them take more pride in the self-serve condiments station which looked very unkept and messy. For me that sight turns me off especially when there are open sauce jars with serving spoons inside. It wasn't a deal-breaker for me but the fact this isn't a conventional "sit-down" restaurant I think they could stick to individually packaged condiments and minimize risks all. Yes, there are seats for customers to dine-in, but this restaurant seems to be more of a take-out establishment. Overall, decent experience. I'll return.

pho with chicken and brisket

this place is SUPER stingy with the tiny packets of hoisin they give for a full bowl of pho and meat. i asked for more and they only gave two. the broth could be way better as well, nothing like the pho places in DC, crofton and wheaton. i'd rather drive 30 mins away and get good pho with ample sauce than fight with the underpaid cashiers about tiny packets of sauce (which you have to pay extra for!)

Spicy Hawaiian Bowl- looks ok, but the salad is bad. Also asked for the sauce and toppings to be on the side....clearly not.

Overall the food looks and tastes good. Had a bento box, two hibachi orders, and the spicy Hawaiian bowl. The spicy bowl looked the worst with the salad being old and not fresh.

Spicy Salmon Roll

The food is horrible and complete mush. Sushi rice was over-cooked and mushy. The filling of the sushi is mushy. The fried rice isn't the standard version either. They just went ahead and gave us brown rice that tasted like plastic. The teriyaki sauce is slimy and was all around the other food areas. Customer service wasn't too welcoming either. They are overpriced and selling below $10 quality food.

Hello, my name is Unique and I'm addicted to Pokè. Unfortunately, this time at SH&P, my itch was not scratched and the customer service seems to have declined. There are about 15 signs in and around the place advertising sushi burritos. When I proceeded to order one, the person taking my order informed me "sushi burrito no more", disappointed I opted for the Hawaiian breeze bowl. Before I got my bowl, I noticed a A man behind the counter in dark shades and a grimace. He was angry and speaking rather rudely to the other staff. I'm really big on the customer experience and it's not at all appropriate to reprimand staff in front of customers. This same sunglass wearing man angrily made my bowl. Needless to say this bowl was not made with love. I watched him closely and he seemed to just be slamming seaweed and angrily squirting eel sauce on my bowl. The bowl left much to be desired. Loaded with bland white rice and lacking fish, I was pretty underwhelmed. Uninteresting flavor profile, and mostly a rice bowl. I suggest an update to the signs and menu to more accurately reflect what's offered. I also suggest homeboy with the glasses to take a chill pill.

Yummo yum. I have been waiting for this place to open. Like, seriously. I saw that it was opening soon and got uber excited! Easy peasy location in Largo Plaza. I believe it is where the old shoe store used to be (am I dating myself?) Either way it is pretty open inside with a good amount of seats, wherever you sit there is place to watch tv. They have a section where you are able to see the sushi being made in addition to them cooking on the grill. The menu is fairly large in size for a fast casual place. They have teriyaki, hibachi, bento boxes, sushi, sushi burritos, poke bowls, and dessert. Each of these selections have various choices of meat selections. It was explained to me that the teriyaki choices are slightly smaller. Not my fave- the up-charge for: fried rice, noodles, yum yum sauce, etc. But, I suppose I understand. I got the chicken and steak hibachi with noodles. This meal was huge! Much bigger than what I expected and what I received from a comparison joint. Also, the steak actually resembled steak, rather than that chopped meat like substance that you can get from other places. The best part, leftovers! There is no way you can finish this portion in one sitting and everyone knows that hibachi taste better after the sauces can sit in overnight and flavor it up. Prices are slightly higher than the closest comparable fast casual hibachi, but the quality is way better. Also, I didn't notice a loyalty (buy 5 get one free or get half off) catd type of thing. Regardless, I'm going back! I've got lots more to try!

Right: 2 spring rolls--wouldn't recommend. Left: Hawaiian Breeze poke (spicy tuna, salmon & ahi tuna)--not great, not bad.

Not a bad place for a quick poke bowl fix. It's not the best fish (freshness) by any means but you definitely get a good portion for what you pay for. If this is your first time trying poke, I'd say go for it. If poke is your favorite food, I would look for something else.

This place DOES NOT serve Poke bowls like it is listed here on Yelp. This is a hibachi and pho place. Disappointed.

This place is now like a Panda Express. The food looks to have been sitting out for hours and they won't allow you to sample.

It was 11:45 am when I visited so I would've thought they would have some kind of business. I checked out menu since this was first visit at this establishment. Decided on the number N1 which is pork ramen. I also decided to give the Thai Tea w/boba (tapioca round thingys) a try since I have never tried one. Let's start with the ramen. I asked if the ramen was spicy and she said no but they can make it spicy. I decided to go with the original. I should have gone with a bit of spice because the pork based broth was very bland. The two pieces of pork they give you had a very strange taste to it. I did not eat it. The mushrooms tasted and looked like ones you get out of a can. The other two ingredients were corn? and sliced green onion, and lots of it. Why do you have corn in ramen? I did not want chowder, I want ramen. Plus it was not worth 15 dollars I paid for such cheap ingredients. The Thai Tea w/Boba was tasty but I did not care for the gelatinous tapioca balls in the drink. If I ever get this drink again I will forgo the boba. Service was good, counter lady was nice enough, and their bathroom was fairly clean but I will find somewhere to go for soup, like a Pho place instead.
