    Hibachi shrimp

We ordered delivery through Uber Eats and it was terrible. The food was terrible. We frequently go to Sakura to dine in and it's always been ok. We've even gotten delivery before and it was ok. But today the food was super cold. The hibachi shrimp was so overcooked that it was practically burnt. See picture. I know that the delivery person picked it up as soon as it was ready because I can see the pickup in the app. So it's the restaurant's fault for not maintaining the temperature. I don't understand how the kitchen can allow burnt shrimp to go out when you can can clearly see it. Also the portion of shrimp was very skimpy. Not sure what's going on with the restaurant tonight but it seems like they just don't care about the quality of the takeout or delivery food. If they don't want that source of business then they just need to get off of the delivery apps.

My daughter took me here for lunch as a Mother's Day gift. She's my sushi dining date since she loves it just as much or more than I do so this was a new place for us to try. It's in a small shopping center in Germantown so ample parking. Walk it to an open and airy dining room that was way too cold for my preference so you may need a light sweater. We were greeted and seated quickly. They weren't busy but that could be because we went on a Friday around 1pm. They have an extensive sushi menu. It took us a while to decide. I can't remember what my daughter had but I got the Cholesteroll. It was good, great presentation. It was a bit too creamy for my taste. It needed something else besides the shrimp tempura in order to give it more texture. My daughter's roll was filled with different types of fish. She enjoyed it. We ordered the spring rolls. Some of the best I've ever had in life!! Seriously. For our meal we both had the Yaki Soba with shrimp. Mine lacked noodles. I had way too many veggies. My daughter said hers lacked shrimp so I gave her mine since i didn't have anymore noodles. The flavor was good though so I was a tad bit disappointed. Our server did tell us the cook was new. I enjoyed our time there. Our server was attentive and sweet. I would definitely go back and ask for the Yaki Soba with extra noodles!!

First time ordering pickup for this location. Sushi is always consistent! We love it! Everything was super fresh! Hibachi was very good! Kids chicken teriyaki was kind of a weird texture, but the rice and spring roll were good. Everything was very prettily displayed even in the to-go containers. When we ordered online it didn't give us a time, so we called to check. She was very sweet and let us know our wait time. Restaurant has always been clean when we have dined in. Low lighting. Definitely will return. I would recommend the sushi, hibachi, and salads above the other offerings.

Best sushi in Germantown. Maybe best sushi in Memphis. (RIP Sushi Jimmi on Poplar) Sushi is kind of like Mexican food to me: same ingredients for similar dishes. For an establishment to excel, the difference is in the variation. If we're talking Pareto principle, most sushi places easily do the 20% effort to get 80% of the results. Sakura is a place that, to me, does the other seemingly overbearing 80% effort that brings the important 20% of going from good to great. The inside seems very sanitary: for some reason when I think legit sushi joint in Aishi prefecture, I think OR grade eradication of pathogens. I don't know why I think this (other than Lexus making the LFA in a germ-free environment...for a car!), but Sakura in the 38138 makes me think this. Using quality ingredients in a clean environment with efficient service (dine-in or take out) to make an enjoyable experience (other than said tile making it, dependent upon patron density, a bit noisy). As for the sushi rolls: some have a slight more spicy range than others, others are sweeter, some have more crunch, you get the idea. The most notable thing, however, is the fullness of flavor. Each roll presents some aspect of sweet, savory, salty, some slight spice, umami, crunchy, smooth, meaty, etc. It's the full range of a 5-course Asian meal in one. Easy, convenient, strong take out game, good range of cooked versus raw options, excellent service. Highly recommended.

We are currently visiting from California and desperately searched for sushi in the area we stayed in. This was a 40 min drive for us and I'm glad we went. Parking was decent for the shopping plaza, and customer service was great through and through. We were seated right away and given menus and our drinks. The sushi was well prepared and presented. Taste was fantastic for the rolls we ordered and I was very happy with our selections. We got the Phelps, Mexican, California and Ferrari roll. All were perfect and I was stoked to have some leftover for midnight snack :) I do feel like they could make the inside of the restaurant a little more updated and modern, but overall it was great and I would be back when we visit. Already recommended to all our friends we visited. Thanks again!

Was out doing some shopping at Sephora which is across the street and decided to dine here for sushi! They have an extensive menu with great lunch options. They open at 1130 and i was there at 1141. There were a few people there already. I was immediately greeted and seated. Placed my drink order for a coke with lemon! The coke was very strong just how i like it! I decided to go with the teriyaki salmon bento box which came with the teriyaki salmon, cucumber salad, one gyoza, one spring roll, 4piece Cali roll and white rice (i substituted for fried rice for $2) i kept the sushi menu because i was going to look over it and see if i wanted to order some sushi to go. The pictures of the Germantown roll on Yelp looked very good! While waiting i got the clear soup and ginger salad. Both were very delicious! My meal took about 10 mins and the presentation was nice! My salmon was hot and fresh, as was the friend rice! The cucumber salad was a fresh pallet cleanser and the spring roll and the gyoza also added a nice touch! The only issue i had was the Cali roll! I feel like it was not fresh at all. The avocado was brown inside and the rice texture gave it had been sitting for maybe a day or so. I didn't feel they made the roll fresh and since the Cali rolls comes with the bento box, i felt that it something they already have made up to place with them. In addition to that, the pieces were very big! I despise big sushi (just my preference). I took one bite of the sushi and decided not to eat anymore of it. Other than my issue with the sushi, the bento box was very good! I would def come again to try other sushi.

Sakura never disappoints me with their sushi. It's always so fresh and delicious!! My favorite is the Mardi Gras roll! It has various fish on there. Tuna, eel, salmon. So so good! Staff is very attentive. I definitely recommend. You won't be disappointed!! Joyce roll is deep fried to perfection. Dragon roll is topped with eel. Salmon skin roll is so delicious with the crispy skin in the middle. There's so so many rolls to choose from. Price is pretty reasonable too!

Really good sushi, get the max roll. The owner/manager is the nicest guy that you will meet, the vibe of the restaurant is also great.

I've enjoyed introducing Thai food to a couple different groups of people and getting to try different things with them. I prefer Pad Thai with pork at spicy level 7 to really appreciate the flavor. If I have had a lot of spicy food then level 10 works but when not I prefer 7. The Pad Thai with Beef was surprisingly good as it is made with angus beef. The Chef's Fried Rice is super sweet and tastes really good without spice. I may try it super spicy one day but I think it's good as is. The sushi here is really good as well. My fav (and my fam's fav) is the Bomb Roll. When it comes to curry this is how I basically feel: - Red and Panaang curries: Great flavors, excellent choices to go all the way to level 10 spiciness. I always eat it with chicken. - Yellow: Has a really distinctive flavor that can be ruined by too much spice. I recommend level 5 or less. I've had this with chicken and tofu and both are pretty good. - Massaman: This curry has a very light flavor and is best kept at spicy level 0-3. People with peanut allergies beware: contains nuts. - Green: I actually dislike this curry. I don't really enjoy the flavor and its burn slowly builds over time after you have eaten your last bite and is hard to counteract. - Jungle: I thought I would like this one because it is just spice, but since it doesn't have coconut milk, it doesn't have any real flavor to it (to me anyway). My husband arrived about forty-five minutes later and waited... and waited... and waited. It took an additional 45 minutes of waiting before the order was ready. They were busy, so he showed grace. But when he got home, the food was also mediocre. Example: the cashew chicken had NOT ONE cashew in it, and the sauce was so thin it ran through the rice like water, flavor was expectedly bland as a result. Perhaps this was a one time miss, but it'll be a while before we try BA again, which is unfortunate since they're very close to home.
