I've been here 3 weeks in a row. Food is great, service is great. Vetty has been my server twice and she treats you like family. The overall food experience, looks great, I still have not sat in the habachi section yet, but seeing the live cooking from across the room looks inviting. That will be my next review. Cheers

Great food and great service in a laid back atmosphere always friendly and food is great and fresh. Best hibachi around

I remember going to Sakura on West Street many moons ago. Stopped in for lunch and was seated rather quickly. Had the Chicken teriyaki bento box. Really good...I especially enjoyed the peanut dressing on the salad (a distinct specialty at Sakura restaurants).

Came here for a birthday dinner and they were really quick to sit us down. I don't think they are strict about social distancing but it's cool. We had our mask. Food was ehh. I've def had better hibachi at the poplar location but it was good for what it was. Service could've been a little faster but hey it's the corona going on so i understand. Over all it was pretty good. I don't think I'll drive out this way for hibachi tho.

Type of service to be expected

Food was fine but the service was absolutely terribly slow. Like the staff could not be bothered to follow up on guest.

Is this the best Chinese restaurant in town? Good heavens, no!…read more But it may be the best in the buffet class, rivalling the Grand Pacific, though without the crowds, the noise, and the shrieking urchins. Good food throughout, regularly freshened. A small but nice salad bar (better than the Grand Pacific's). Others are right to lament the relative want of vegetables on he bar. But I do like their asparagus and their green beans. Favourites of mine include two or three of their chicken dishes...beef & peppers...their hot & sour soup (a tad too hot for my own very tame tastes, but a lovely flavour). One nice touch: on the bar, a big bowl of fresh chopped green onions to sprinkle on soup or other dishes--Ichiban's deep-fried shrimp is my #1 and gets a whack of those onions. There are a few regrettable things--not bad, really, so much as just ordinary. The "crab Rangoon" has been nowhere near either Rangoon or any species of crustacean. For dessert you can have fruit. Mostly canned. Ice cream in dixie cups. And regrettably commercial chocolate pudding. But then, we don't go to these places for dessert, do we? Here's one thing that needs to be remedied forthwith...Servers issue one big paper napkin to start, and bring lots of smaller diner-style serviettes on request. Good so far. But the last four times we've been, the big napkins have REEKED with an aroma that I'm pretty confident is mould. Yuck! My guess is that it's a storage issue. GOOD service. Prompt, polite, responsive, unobtrusive. A good place to go on a casual date, or with the fam, or with buddies from work. Good value. Chow down!

When my wife placed her order, she specifically pointed to the items she wanted on the menu. That section of the menu clearly states that each meat is a 1/2-pound serving and that you must order two meats. Based on the menu, she ordered two 1/2-pound meats. Nothing during the meal indicated there was a problem. It wasn't until the bill arrived that we discovered we had been charged for twice the amount we ordered. Unknown to us, the order had been entered as double portions, and we were billed accordingly. The exact same thing happened to the other couple dining with us. We explained the situation at checkout. Our waitress acknowledged that it was a "miscommunication," but the cashier refused to correct the bill. I respectfully disagree that it was a miscommunication on our part. We ordered exactly as the menu described, and my wife even pointed to the specific items she wanted. If there was a misunderstanding, it occurred after we placed our order--not with what we requested. I paid the bill because it was obvious we weren't going to reach a resolution, and I wasn't interested in beating my head against the wall any further. What disappointed me most wasn't the ordering mistake--mistakes happen. It was that the restaurant acknowledged the mistake but still expected us to pay for food we never intended to order. Good customer service is measured by how a business handles situations like this, and in our case, they chose not to make it right. Because of this experience, neither our family nor the other couple who dined with us plans to return.

I've enjoyed introducing Thai food to a couple different groups of people and getting to try different things with them. I prefer Pad Thai with pork at spicy level 7 to really appreciate the flavor. If I have had a lot of spicy food then level 10 works but when not I prefer 7. The Pad Thai with Beef was surprisingly good as it is made with angus beef. The Chef's Fried Rice is super sweet and tastes really good without spice. I may try it super spicy one day but I think it's good as is. The sushi here is really good as well. My fav (and my fam's fav) is the Bomb Roll. When it comes to curry this is how I basically feel: - Red and Panaang curries: Great flavors, excellent choices to go all the way to level 10 spiciness. I always eat it with chicken. - Yellow: Has a really distinctive flavor that can be ruined by too much spice. I recommend level 5 or less. I've had this with chicken and tofu and both are pretty good. - Massaman: This curry has a very light flavor and is best kept at spicy level 0-3. People with peanut allergies beware: contains nuts. - Green: I actually dislike this curry. I don't really enjoy the flavor and its burn slowly builds over time after you have eaten your last bite and is hard to counteract. - Jungle: I thought I would like this one because it is just spice, but since it doesn't have coconut milk, it doesn't have any real flavor to it (to me anyway). Lately I'm fond of their Jalapeno Chicken dish. We get to-go most of the time but when we do visit here it's quite a treat because of how nicely they have it decorated. Their little alcoves for groups of 6 to sit comfortably and have an intimate dinner together are very cool. The sushi is just ok but I'm willing to try more.
