Definitely enjoyed this restaurant today, Steak teriyaki was delicious however they could have went a little easy on the onions. The Christmas tree roll, out of season but still delicious. Golden Treasure roll was on point with lobster and crabmeat and nothing beats a traditional shrimp tempura roll! The decor was very nice and the waiter who served us was great too. I'm probably not a sushi person, but I'm becoming one! I've been to half a dozen sushi places over the years, and this is the first one that I really wanted to come back to. I've tried a dozen or so different sushi rolls here and have loved them all. I usually get some random rolls, sea weed salad, and the shrimp tempura side dish. Fairly heavy coating, so I wouldn't order the meal size. The place is always clean, and the staff is very friendly. The hostess/waitress recognizes me and always brings me a fork. My wife and I stumbled upon this gem randomly a few nights ago. I am so glad we did. When you walk in the restaurant is some what small but gives the family atmosphere. The menu is broad. It simple and to the point. I ordered the monster roll and veggie yobi soba. It was delicious! My wife got the kamikaze roll, miso soup, and edamame. It was so delicious we went back the following day and ordered to go!!! I believe the lady working is the owner and she is super sweet. When my sushi order came out incorrect I was scolded for it and then told after sitting there for 20 minutes that the chefs REFUSE to re-make my order. Owner is rude, always has been for the years my mother and I have been coming here which is a shame. Usually you would treat your regulars kindly since we've been supporting this awful business. Had a run in where there was mold in my mother's food of which the owner was not willing to comp nor provide some sort of coupon for next time or even an apology! Instead she wanted to explain to me that it's the same thing as if I had mold in my food at home. I didn't realize that serving moldy food at a restaurant was justifiable, but it is in this woman's eyes. Anywho, once explaining to her that serving customers moldy food was unacceptable and you should pay more attention to what you serve your customers. I was yelled out the door to never come back. Even though this spot has the same exact logo of the AYCE at Salem Crossing, it's not the same format. This Sakura is a cozy, clean, family run place. Service is friendly. Portions were perfect. I got a Chirashi bowl - the rice was perfectly seasoned and most of the fish tasted very fresh. The white tuna was less "buttery" than my standards. But for $13, I was full and satisfied. Husband got a volcano roll and something else from the special combo menu. He could tell the shrimp was freshly fried for the volcano roll, and liked that it had a lot of flavor WITHOUT the drowning of sauces on top you see elsewhere (probably used to hide mediocre sushi). Not the abs best in town - but if you're in the town center area, craving some sushi, and don't got zushi-status guap to throw then I highly recommend this lil Sakura! read more

I should have know it was going to be a bad food experience when we walked into a dark warehouse like place. My wife and I ate at Sakura on January 29, 2022. I ordered the $25 teriyaki steak with shrimp and vegetable tempura. Our server told me it is a new york steak. I received seven small slim chunks of hard overcooked meat - not a new york steak. The tempura was served on the same plate as the steak swimming in teriyaki sauce. The meat - not new york steak - was terrible. The tempura was wet. read more

For the record, I've been to this establishment a few times now..and the service here definitely needs some work... Today I came here with my boss today for lunch, when we walked in we were told we could sit wherever we wanted, no problem there. I'll give this lady who is always working the tables the benefit of the doubt, it's some work to have to take orders, serve, sit down patrons, and clean up tables. But the attitude I experience EVERY.TIME. I've come here is the reason I usually deter anyone who mentions this place for lunch. Granted the food wasn't bad, and they seem to have great specials. But going out to eat is not just about the food, it's about the experience. Today my boss looked at me several times in disgust, after she asked a question about what she wanted to order and received attitude from the server. There were a few times she was still ordering and the server already walked away mid sentence... We ordered shrimp dumplings as an appetizer and they came out piping hot and delicious! The sushi was fresh, but they put the wrong sauce on both of our volcano rolls. The spicy sauce was more of a sweet sort of brown sauce. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't what we ordered. The presentation was also sort of lacking. They closed at 10, and we came in at around 8, but it seemed like they were rushing us out. Also, at one point we heard a scuttling sound in the walls and ceiling which was a bit off putting... I came during lunch time, around 12:15 or so, and ordered the American Dream roll, and the shrimp tempura. This was by far the WORST sushi I have ever had. The shrimp on top of the American Dream roll was overlooked and flavorless, the roll was poorly made and had little to no flavor...it's supposed to have spicy crab, avocado, cream cheese, and spicy tuna. I could barely taste the little dab of cream cheese they put inside the roll. The shrimp tempura roll was flavorless as well. Then to top it off, they doused both rolls with some kind of watery sauce that made the rolls super soggy. I must've come at a bad time, or something, because this restaurant got a lot of good views.
