I came here on a Sunday afternoon and got the ayce ($20pp) and they had a variety of appetizer and sushi to try (no sashimi). The food was made quite quickly and I liked that they filled the roll with a good amount of fillings such as avocado and fish. Everything tasted quite fresh! Staff was very friendly. They did automatically charge a 20% service fee. After getting the bill they said we could go next door to the mochi donut shop and get a free donut after presenting the bill which was a great welcome! Overall I was impressed with what I got at the $20pp for lunch and would come again at dinner to see how the sashimi taste! Food(50%): 8.0 Staff/service(25%): 7.5 Value(25%): 8.5 Overall: 8.0/10

All in all, one and done. I'll start with the good parts. Decent service. Server takes your order and a few minutes later, you get your order. And you can do that until you're done. And I'm done rather quickly. I'm not a big eater. The sashimi is quite good. The sushi is supermarket quality. The one that had Tuna and Philly cream cheese was horrendous. The cheese has been sitting far too long and tasted bad. The seaweed salad was delicious. The chicken on the stick was average. The beef was rubbery. You chew and chew and chew and you get the idea.

O' Yummy Sushi is an All-You-Can-Eat Sushi restaurant in Virginia Beach. They offer a wide selection of sushi, sashimi, and rolls. They also serve Japanese appetizers such as tempura, BBQ squid, and noodles, such as Yakisoba and Udon. Some of my usual orders are Spicy Girl (deep-fried spicy crab meat and shrimp tempura), shumai, kani salad, seaweed salad, shrimp sashimi, and spicy crab hand roll. Since it's all-you-can-eat, you can try anything on their menu. They also offer a la carte, but personally, their AYCE menu is worth it. The staff are amiable and patient with us even after multiple ordering rounds. The lanterns and the decorations give a Japanese restaurant ambiance. This restaurant is our go-to sushi place in the area. Whenever we have people visiting the area, this is one of the first restaurants we take them to, and they are always impressed. This should be on your list if you are a sushi lover or just like me, who only likes appetizers.

***I am now posting this review based after several lunch and dinner visits.*** My friend and I were wanting to do a sushi lunch and check out a different restaurant because I feel like I've been to them all. So I did some research here on Yelp and found this place. It's an AYCE small sushi restaurant and it looks like it opened up last year and it's really cute on the inside! It has a warm ambience and felt homey. We were seated at a booth and asked for two high chairs for my one and two year old, and we realized the booth wouldn't fit the high chairs because the booth was against the wall. So we were quickly moved to a regular table where they fit much better. Waitstaff is hit or miss. Most of the time they are kind and yet sometimes we have had a rude waitress who sometimes wears a Sakura sushi shirt. Lots of appetizers to choose from and I've tried miso soup, udon soup, avocado salad, seaweed salad, shrimp dumplings, and bbq chicken sticks. The hot, fried items were pipping hot and so fresh and crispy and savory, while the salads were nicely chilled, and the soup was steamy and hot. I have tried the Dragon, Rainbow, Beach, Candy, Volcano, and a few others. The sushi was not only beautiful, but large and tightly rolled with a huge amount of filling and not an overwhelming amount of rice which was pleasant and awesome! The rice was tender and the fillings were clearly so fresh and vibrant and ample. There was a couple occasions the rolls were a tad skimpy on the fish and the tops of the rolls that had avocado were very browned. I just took off the browned pieces and asked for no more avocado on or in the rolls. I didn't see any desserts on the menu, and unfortunately there aren't any. There are smoothies and boba though! My friend ordered a mango milk boba tea cause she just has to have something sweet. When the mango milk tea came out we started laughing cause it's served in what looks like a giant glass beer mug! It was huge! But she drank every last sip cause it was creamy, smooth, not to sweet, with just a hint of mango, and plenty of boba. I enjoyed several sips as well. Since my initial lunch experience I've done several dinners here, and the dinner menu is great. Definitely love the dinner menu and really appreciate the sashimi selection.

Came to this restaurant not realizing it was all-you-can-eat. Overall, it was pretty good--not the best sushi I've ever had, but definitely a solid deal. The rice was a bit on the mushy side, but the servers were very quick and the food came out fast. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself was well-themed and nicely decorated, which made for a pleasant atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Came here with my daughter after her physical therapy evaluation so we were hungry as we both didn't have lunch yet. It was around 3 pm, so not very busy at the time. Our service was adequate and pop Japanese music was playing. My daughter enjoyed her sushi rolls. I had miso soup, seaweed salad & some sashimi. It was tasty and I finished my meal with the mango salad. Dinner was AYCE $28.95. Lunch menu is AYCE $18.95 but has less options. It's not a bad deal! I'd come back again, it's worthy of my patronage!

This place was so cute and cozy! I loved all of the themed decor. It was full without seeming too crowded/overwhelming. Our server was so attentive and polite. There were ten of us total, and she made sure we were well taken care of. The food was really good. I am the only non-sushi eater in our group (go ahead and judge lol), but they have a decent selection of non-sushi options. I had the gyoza dumplings (fried to crispy perfection), the chicken teriyaki, and chicken fried rice. The one thing I will say is I was disappointed by the small amount of chicken in the rice. I legitimately thought it wasn't mine at first because I didn't see the chicken. Overall, the rice was good and I just combined it with the chicken teriyaki (which was a little overcooked, but excellently flavored).

I am in this area quite a bit, shopping and eating at various businesses in this shopping area. I was working remotely at a coffee shop nearby and I had a date to meet up with an old friend for lunch. I had remembered that O'Yummy had opened not too long ago, when I popped into Tasty BBQ awhile back. I suggested O'Yummy to my friend for our reunion lunch date. I had not seen this gal in over 7 years and she used to be my old lunch buddy, so she trusted me wholeheartedly. I needed O'Yummy to pull through so that I could keep my reputation LOL. Thankfully, O'Yummy didn't let me down! To be honest though, I am always slightly a little hesitant when it's all-you-can-eat, but it turned out to be a great experience! First, when you walk in, it's very clean, new and lots of bright, Japanese themed decor. There were fish tanks and just very cheery in there. I just liked the vibe! Second, the staff was super friendly! They came to check on me often while I was waiting for my friend to arrive, making sure I didn't need anything. They continued to do so, after she arrived and for our entire dining experience. They were great at making suggestions too. Third, I found that the AYCE price of $17.95 was really cheap! Is it just me? I don't think you can get eggs for that cheap anymore! Haha, just kidding. KIDDING! But seriously....a small pack of sushi at the grocery store is at least $13. You do the math! Fourth, the quality of sushi for an AYCE! Ok, so is it Michelin star quality? Couldn't tell ya, never had it. Only seen it on TV. None of those types of spots around here for MIIIIIILES. I can only imagine. But, anywho, I have had bad sushi and they've usually been at AYCE places and O'Yummy definitely didn't fall into that category! The menu isn't super extensive, about two menu pages worth (one side is mostly drinks though), but just as well and there are enough choices! How much do you really need to eat? The menu is heavy on maki rolls though, with a limited selection of nigiri sushi. There are also hand rolls, special (fancier rolls) and hot kitchen menu items. For my vegetarian friends, they have about 5 choices. The only bummer is that they didn't have sashimi at all, but I understand that, being ACYE. We ended up ordering (this is what I can remember): + miso soup - good. I like to have one to wash down the sushi pieces + tempura shrimp (you order by the piece) - served with ponzu sauce, ok size and it was crispy! + spicy salmon - we both really liked this one + rainbow - always order this one for the color. Who doesn't like rainbows? + Greenbrier roll - this was one of my faves + red snapper nigiri sushi - fresh! + spicy tuna - this was great too! Overall, that was a lot of food for two people. We definitely left with a full belly. The AYCE factor makes me eat more than I should, but I'm no quitter hehehe! But in all seriousness, if I'm craving sushi, which I often do, I won't hesitate to go back to O'Yummy again. It's affordable, healthier and made fresh. Plus, friendly service, what more do you need? Stay safe, Friends!

O'Yummy is an ayce sushi restaurant which is managed by the same group as Sakura. If you take a close look, O'Yummy's menu is the same menu Sakura uses at their VB and Chesapeake locations. O'Yummy just has a different name - from what I've been told it's intentional so as to not oversaturate the area with Sakuras (O'Yummy and the Chesapeake Sakura are less than a 10-minute drive apart, so I get it). It doesn't matter what name they use, all that matters is that they serve good sushi at a reasonable price and their service is top notch. Having hit up O'Yummy a bunch of times over the past 18 months, they do just that. So if you have a big appetite and want to eat like a king in a short amount of time, hit up O'Yummy. O'Yummy is roughly the same size as the Chesapeake Sakura. It's quaint, cozy and looks clean and well-maintained. Regardless of volume, service is fast. Their staff is nice and they don't mess about. They use tablets to submit your order, which is instantly sent to the kitchen. There will be, on occasion, times when the server who took your order is walking away from your table while simultaneously another server is approaching your table with your order. This obviously wouldn't happen with sushi and rolls, but if you order an appetizer, or something simple (like soup), all that'll be out swiftly. This is good for instances when you may need to eat and run, which is a positive. But why would you wanna rush a sushi meal? Regardless, O'Yummy is a fun spot that can handle small and big parties. They can handle high volume, too, and do so with minimal issues. Their fish is of good quality and your dollar here goes a long way. Thanks, O'Yummy, for being awesome. JV

This was the best sushi I've had in a while. Very fresh, great taste. Especially love the cooked chicken teriakye sushi. 5 mins from my house... my new GO TO.

My daughter and I met for lunch and took advantage of their all you eat lunch for $16.99. Even though it was during the week and it was after 2pm there was a good amount of customers. Our waitress greeted us and sat us down right away. She took our order and our kani salads were on their way to our table before she even got back to the kitchen. They use tablets with a direct connection to the kitchen. The sushi rolls came out quickly with good flavor. The waitress checks on you several times to see what else she can order for you. I wish they had a bento box lunch for those days that you don't want to fill up. We will definitely be back.

I might be a sushi snob so please take this review for what it was and for the day I went. I went on a Sunday afternoon. First, I opened the door to a waiter that was right there waiting to seat us. Didn't even step foot in the restaurant. I felt rushed from the moment I sat down to order. Very cheap AYCE sushi and you get what you pay for. Very basic rolls and the raw fish was not as fresh as I would like. I've been to many AYCE that offer special rolls for maybe a couple dollars more for AYCE. I will probably not come here again but if you want like cheap plentiful basic rolls this is the place to come to.

Fast friendly service with fresh sushi and sashimi! Greeted immediately and taken to our table where they promptly took our drink order. It was AYCE, so we did!! The food came out fast and it was great! I ordered the kani salad, the Golden Lobster roll, the Dragon roll, red clam sashimi (a lot!! 1 dozen pieces) Unfortunately, they had no conch! But they had such an extensive and excellent menu of other food from which you could choose that you didn't leave feeling hungry!! So we had an epic dinner!!!

With all that being said, I could not believe it when my order arrived it was exactly as I requested. It's not really a sushi joint. We decided to give Saruki Japanese Hibachi a try on a weeknight and were seated after only about a five-minute wait. One thing we really enjoyed was having the hibachi table to ourselves. Unlike many hibachi experiences where you're seated with other parties, it was just my family, which made for a more relaxed dinner. Our chef was entertaining without being over the top, and the cooking was done well. The steak and scallops were both cooked perfectly, which we appreciated. The meal came with the standard vegetables, although we noticed there were no bean sprouts, which are common at many hibachi restaurants in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. We also missed the traditional dipping sauces that usually accompany hibachi meals. Instead, we were served a mayo-based sauce that wasn't really to our taste. The staff was happy to provide Sriracha when requested, which helped. Service was decent, and the food was good overall. However, with restaurant prices being what they are today, the experience didn't quite stand out enough for us to make a return visit. It wasn't a bad meal by any means--just one that ultimately felt a bit forgettable. This version comes across as fair and constructive while still explaining why you likely won't be back.

We ordered the Tuna & Salmon Sashimi (sadly the Yellowtail was sold out), along with the Wasabi Roll, Fire Cracker Roll, Rainbow Roll, Virginia Beach Roll, and Spicy Salmon Roll. Every single bite was phenomenal! The fish was fresh, the rolls were all unique but very tasty, and my friend and I literally ate every last piece lol. The staff was kind enough to let us enjoy our meal even though they close at 8:30pm, yet they suggested we come earlier on Fridays if we want to thoroughly enjoy the dine-in experience without feeling rushed. The restaurant itself is fairly small, it only had about 5 tables and a bar area, but you can tell it's a local's favorite and now it's officially one of my favorites as well lol. I'll definitely be back soon. The sushi here is absolutely top-tier. Just FYI, don't get tricked by the GPS, it might direct you to the stores alongside Shore Drive. Amura is actually located on Pleasure House Rd. You're welcome! :)

I came in with a friend on a Friday night (9/12/25). It was a little busy and, since we arrived…read moreabout an hour before closing, things were a little hectic. Regardless, the staff was friendly and fully accommodated us during our entire visit. Amura is one of those spots that doesn't look like much upon first glance, but their focus on food and service makes this essentially a hole-in-the-wall gem. I must stress, this place isn't jacked up or anything (the venue is clean, organized and works perfectly for what they want to achieve service-wise), but the aesthetic belies its incredible sushi and friendly service. Also, although Amura has a Shore Dr address, it is located the Chic's Beach Shopping Center, but is on the Please House Rd side of the strip mall. If you don't know that portion of VB, it may initially be confusing. The items we ordered (btw, ordering is a little old school - they provide menus, but you order on a separate sheet of paper using an also-provided writing utensil) and enjoyed were: Tuna Sashimi Salmon Sashimi Wasabi Roll Fire Cracker Roll Rainbow Roll Virginia Beach Roll Spicy Salmon Roll Let me tell you, I haven't enjoyed sushi this much in ages. That's partially on me because I've defaulted to dining at the acye a la carte sushi spots. Also, a few months ago, nearby Misako took sushi off their menu (if you're wondering, I'm afraid it's permanent... at least for an extended hiatus), so I was left to find a new go-to for sushi. Regardless, we devoured ALL the sushi we ordered, which was impressive since my appetite isn't nearly what it used to be. But Amura's fish is so fresh, and their flavors meld so well with the fish, that I couldn't help myself. Along with fantastic and gorgeous company, this visit to Amura was top shelf. I had a great time on this evening - Amura played a big role with that. Thank you, Amura! I can't wait to return. JV
