Buffet food
Celine P.

The food hits the spot after a long morning of driving north. Lots of crispy fried options. Sushi was a bit sad with cheap crab meats. $20/person at 1pm. Grimey, sticky air from lack of air circulation. Lots of families yet quite quiet. The service is self service. Lots of quick cleaning ups though!

Honestly one of the best Chinese buffets I've had in a while. Huge variety, and it was busy (Wednesday around 1:30 PM) so the food stayed fresh and constantly rotating. For $20, it's honestly an unbeatable deal. It's still a buffet, so of course the quality isn't top-tier, but I was genuinely surprised by how good everything tasted. I tried basically every meat dish and all of it was delicious. Overall, I doubt you'll be disappointed or find a better deal in the area. Definitely recommend.

I visit Sakura Seafood Buffet twice a year. This place is delicious. There's many different sea food, salads, fruits, snacks, pastas, all kinds of drinks including coffee and tea. At the end you can enjoy some ice cream. Is just so much you can eat. I do recommend this place for all families. You serve yourself and people are always very kind. The even cook the food en front of you of you want. Love this ambiance and very comfortable place to come and enjoy time with your family

We were in the middle of our meal when a few waitresses nearby kept chatting and glancing at us. Then one of them came over and asked for our receipt to confirm we'd paid. It completely ruined my day, and I lost my appetite. You should check your cameras instead of bothering customers like that. It's been a few months, but I still feel really upset about it. I won't be coming back.

Don't go on a Sunday!

Sunday Crowd. So many people and they take in whoever they can seat first. We were a party of four and numerous groups were seated before us. Lots of pushing and empty trays. Food is good but could be better for the price. Don't ever go on a Sunday if you do go. Food = 4 Stars Service = 2 Stars Ambiance = 0 Stars

It's too pricey only seafood is shrimp, the rest ok. They should add more seafood, as a Seafood buffet restaurant.

We had the 2 combo plate with rice ($15) and sampled a bit of everything from the steam tables (turo turo and they still heated it up for you after you select it) and the fried items on the back counter. Everything we ate was masarap! I had the fried bangus and mongo (rare to find this on the menu these days) . Sisters had the diniguan, bulaklak, Kare kare and afritada. We added pandan for dessert and pancit palabok to go. The guy was soooooo nice!!! He asked us where we came from, etc and kept bringing us things to try (sinigang was also very good). He was the sweetest!!! The food, family vibe, cleanliness, value and excellent service make this as special place. Just go!!!

The prices were right in line with what you'd expect for a hibachi restaurant, so we felt we got great value for the money. I also appreciated that they serve drinks in large soda cups--a small touch, but one I really liked. The service was friendly, attentive, and genuinely polite from start to finish. Our hibachi chef was funny, engaging, and did a great job with both the cooking and the entertainment. He made our anniversary dinner even more enjoyable. The only thing that surprised me was how empty the restaurant was. After our experience, I honestly think they deserve more business. If you're looking for good hibachi in Salinas with generous portions, solid prices, and excellent service, I'd definitely recommend giving Fujiyama a try. We'll absolutely be back!

It was definitely firm, which makes sense since it was fried, but the contrast worked well. Sweet and savory with the crispy exterior overall, really good. Service was fast and efficient, with a very attentive server. The ambiance was clean, nice, and relaxed. It wasn't very busy, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!

My favorite dishes are Palak Paneer and any variation of Coconut curry. Most recently I ate the shrimp coconut curry and was very happy with the flavor. The biggest issue was the service -- it was pretty much nonexistent the entire meal. It took a while to get served, and once the food came out, there was very little follow-up or attention afterward. We came towards the end of the night and most all the tables were left dirty, filled with plates from diners who had already left the restaurant. The food itself was decent overall and still had the good flavors I remember. The fried fish had really great seasoning and flavor, but it was overcooked and only served lukewarm. Honestly, if it had come out fresh and hot, it probably would have been excellent. The rest of the dishes were pretty good too, but unfortunately none of the food was actually hot when it reached the table, which took away from the experience. I'd still order from here because the flavors are there, but going forward I'll probably stick to takeout instead of dining in.

I actually had to circle back to find it, which already made it feel like a bit of a hidden gem. Arriving around 1:30 pm, the dining room was completely empty at first glance. For a moment I wondered if they were closed, until I noticed the doors slightly ajar. Not long after stepping in, I was greeted and invited to sit wherever I liked, which added a relaxed, unhurried feel to the whole experience. I went with the Mango Beef Special Lunch Combo ($10.99) The dish came with generous crisp vegetables, chunks of mango that paired nicely with the zesty savory beef. The fried rice and chow mein leaned a bit on the mild side flavor-wise, but a touch of chili oil and some of the entrée sauce brought everything to life. The combo also includes soup of the day and your choice of appetizer, making it a well-rounded plate. Portion-wise, it's more than fair--especially for the price. In fact, it easily undercuts most nearby Chinese spots and even fast food options, in the later case being obviously fresher and more balanced alternative. This feels like the kind of place you root for. I'll be back to explore more of the menu--and honestly, I'd take supporting a quiet local kitchen like this over a fast food chain any day.

One thing about the food tho....
