Sushi was overly "fishy" and served with lettuce?? Stomach felt sick after dinner. Best item consumed was the fried rice, and grocery story sushi is considerably more fresh and pleasant than what they served. Sushi chef had airpods in ears the entire service, talking to someone on the phone and refused to interact with us. Wait staff were not at all interested to work for a tip. Dead bugs/worms seen in the overhead light diffusers over the sushi bar. First time taking my son for sushi. Horrible experience.

Extremely small sushi rolls this is the 3 roll bundle in a container built for 1 roll.

I've gone here countless times throughout the years. It's been my favorite restaurant for a long time. I last visited them 11/19. I love the soup and salad (the ginger dressing is GREAT), the hibachi rice, veggies, and chicken/shrimp/steak/salmon (the meats I've tried). The sushi is pretty good, too. The only con is waiting a bit for a chef to come out and cook your hibachi order. But I believe it's completely worth it.

We got the house salad, gyoza, & veg tempura. They were all really good! Then we ordered 5 rolls, the Dream Roll, Fire Island Roll, Volcano Roll, California Roll & Philly Roll. We loved them all! Possibly not the philly roll just because it had a smoke flavor to it. This place was great service and everyone was really nice! Definitely reccomend!!

I really wasn't expecting much from a Hibachi joint in St. Joe, especially after reading some of these reviews. As far as the wait time, I don't feel we waited unusually long. With a number of tables occupied (plus a completely full table across the way), we got beers pretty much immediately, and the grillmeister was up and running after about 30 min or so. Our chef was pretty entertaining, but more so the food was soooo good. I'm fairly picky about my Chinese-American food (yes I realize this is a "Japanese" restaurant but what we had was pretty much stir-fry). I guess I'm spoiled as far as Chinese-American food goes, but I was diggin' it. I had the filet mignon and scallops. Dee-lish. For four beers and two meals, I paid around $83 with the gratuity automatically included. Pricey? Maybe a little bit. But I felt the food & entertainment was well worth it.

Not really excited about their sushi. The prices are exorbitant and the rolls are very small. I do enjoy going to Sakae off29 hwy but the distance for us is discouraging. The kc area have much better restaurants tucked away in little nook and cranny spaces ! I miss living in the city. Country life has its disadvantages at times.

If you like calamari then you'll enjoy this roll.

Good food. Good service despite the current epidemic situation. All the waiters/waitress were mask so good.

Wow, how lucky am I to stumble across this amazing place across the street from my hotel and open…read morefor lunch!? On a Monday!? I rarely see omakase restaurants or izakayas open for lunch or on a Monday, so this was pretty exciting for me. I wandered in without a resy (I hear it is needed for dinner) and was seated at the bar. All three chefs were helpful and talkative. I ordered the chirashi lunch, and while I was assured it was enough to eat, I left myself open to future nigiri. I ordered an iced green tea to start, and it was served in a beautiful glass (see photo). It tasted like hojicha as it was roasty. First, I was served gomaae, blanched spinach in sesame dressing, which was very nice. Next was miso soup. The soup was lukewarm so not my favorite, but the presentation was nice. Then came my chirashi don: a small bowl with rice mixed with diced takuan on the bottom, an assortment of fish: masu (ocean trout), tai (sea bream), hamachi (yellowtail), akami (lean tuna), suzuki (sea bass), chutoro (medium fatty tuna), and o-toro (fatty tuna), accompanied with cucumber, shiso leaf, and thinly shredded daikon. While this was satisfying, the freshness and quality led me to try four additional nigiri: kinmedai (golden eye snapper) with lemon zest and charcoal salt, seared gindara (black cod) with yuzu miso, in-house cured saba (not on menu but glad it came up in conversation!), and for dessert, Hokkaido uni (also not on menu, but happened to be in and fresh)! Everything was fantastic and the prices are very reasonable. The service was wonderful too. I would love to return for dinner and enjoy the omakase experience (though it is available at lunch). Itadakimasu!
