This spot is such a gem! Been coming for years and it never disappoints. Fresh, fast, delicious food paired with friendly service. Love it!

Everything is absolutely delicious and intentionally crafted. The Studio Ghibli music was the cherry on top!

Haven't been back in a while. Service was prompt and friendly. Prices have doubled and portions are smaller. Fish is fresh. Ordered Salmon Kama, forever roll, Ika salad (spicy), toro sashimi, and unagi nigiri.

    Salmon Tataki. Spicy!

Staying in a small town like Auburn, CA, I am surprised to find a top notch Sushi restaurant here! The small and modest seating area belies the really great food. Started off with the Salmon Tataki (thin slices of Salmon) and it is absolutely delicious! It's got jalapeños and is generally spicy, so i decided to skip adding any Wasabi. Next came the main dish - a Super Rainbow roll with Shrimp tempura. Ingredients are amazingly fresh - the shrimp tempura in particular tasted like they prepared it from scratch with live shrimp. Everything is just amazing, and I'm tempted to make a second visit on my way back to San Francisco. A real gem - can't recommend this enough!

Love this hidden gem! I first discovered it because a friend and I went to a popular place down on Lincoln Street and found that the wait was going to be nearly an hour! We decided we didn't want to wait that long so searched for something else and this is where we ended up. So glad fate brought us here! Since that initial visit, we've been back a few times... pleased with the service and dishes each time. My sister joined us on our most recent visit - she and her family go to Mikuni 95% of the time, but she was very happy with the food here and said she'd likely be back as well. The atmosphere here is about as opposite as you can get - where Mikuni is generally very busy and "loud", Sakura is small and chill... yet the food is still great. We started off with a Goyza Plate as an appetizer... the "plate" added a few interesting things to the usual deep fried pot stickers - there was some green salad, sticky rice and an orange - all with great presentation. We then went with three rolls - the Arizona Roll, Sakura Roll and Godzilla Roll. All were great - and large rolls! The Arizona Roll was the spiciest and my sister decided it was a little bit too much for her so she stayed with the other two. While we were getting close to finishing, the waitress surprised us with another small dish - a salmon appetizer. It's always nice to be surprised like this! I'm not even sure if the dish was normally on the menu, but WOW - it was some of the tastiest salmon I've ever had! So buttery and tender, it just melted in our mouths! We all loved it! Much appreciated! I'll definitely keep this place in mind whenever I'm in the area and wanting sushi. Highly recommended!

Gave this place a try for the first time. There are now 5 Sushi options in Auburn, so one would think this would drive competition and make things better. Unfortunately Sakura is not in the running. We got 4 rolls to go and the bill was $54 before tip. When he handed me the bag I was already a little worried because it was pretty light. When we got home we opened up some very pretty rolls, but it was clear we would be supplementing our meal. I'm not sure how he rolled them so tiny. We "dug in" and they were good, but compared to the other options in town they were bottom 2. Everything did seem fresh, and that's a big deal, and presentation was nice for to-go. Fair amount of wasabi and ginger. Favorite out of the 4 was the 49er. If we try it again I think we will eat in and see if he can look us in the face when they deliver the rolls. But again l, with so many options it will be a while before I spend that much to retest them out.

Happy Mother's Day!!…read more Today for Mother's Day, we decided to celebrate with my neighbor and have the best sushi in town here at Jinme. Jinme is consistent. Delicious every single time... so tonight, we celebrated with my daughter. We sat right away and how gorgeous was it tonight!? Balloons, streamers, and Mother's Day table cloths. After a little bit, our server came over and we ordered sunomono and vegetable tempura. Their vegetable tempura was a mixture of the vegetables, in one. Like a birds nest. It came with 4 pieces and a dipping sauce. It was different, but very good. The sunomono (cucumber salad) was cut in half into thin slices without the seeds, and the dressing on it was delicate and went so good with the cucumbers. Quite a bit of time had passed and we were given some complimentary spring rolls to snack on. The sauce it came with was a little spicy & sweet. We ordered a Simba roll, Auburn City roll, 49ers Roll, the Ultimate Roll, and salmon sashimi. All looked fantastic! The sashimi came with miso (as an appetizer). We will ended up sharing everything with each other. I really like that baked salmon roll (Simba). It has a sweet mayo on top. The Salmon Sashimi is my favorite bc the salmon on top is made with high quality salmon belly. The freshness makes me crave this often. The 49ers roll was delicious. It was different from your regular sushi rolls with rice in the outside. it had an entire cucumber casing on the outside of it. The Auburn Roll has thick pieces of red rings and salmon throughout... what a dream... Lastly, we ordered moochi ice cream and deep fried strawberry ice cream... both were out of this world!! This was the first time I have ordered dessert here and it was phenomenal! Strawberry just gets me! Our service was great! The decorations were a cute touch, too. Jinme went above and beyond to make us feel special on Mother's Day!

I tried a slice of their peach pie and apple pie ($7.99 each). I really enjoyed the apple pie! It was absolutely filled with apples, wasn't too sweet, and lightly spiced so the apples really shined. The crust wasn't extremely buttery or flaky but it held up well. I liked that it wasn't too rich tasting. The peach pie's filling was moister so the bottom crust was softer than I'd like but I thought the chunky yellow peach filling was tasty. I came back again later and got a whole apple pie ($30) to bring home. I also tried the steak pie ($14.99 I think) which had tender beef, carrots, peas, potato pieces in a savory sauce. I thought the crust went really well with the beef and veggie filling. It was hearty and comforting, but a touch on the salty side. Their ambrosia apples were sweet and not tart at all. They're not as sweet as honey crisp or sugar bee apples but I still liked snacking on them. Overall, I give Ikeda's 5 stars mainly because of the apple pie but I thought everything I tried was good. Some non-food notes I also appreciated: the service was warm and friendly, there's a decent amount of onsite parking, there are some tables and chairs outside so you can eat your goods immediately, and the bathrooms wer

The day before the race, I arrived in Auburn (my first time ever) to pick up my race bib and to look around to take in the local culture. Nectar Cafe was at the top of the search results. As luck would have it, Nectar Cafe was just a short walk from where I parked my car, and just a short walk from the Start/Finish line of the race. Man... I am so glad this restaurant exists. The food and the service were great. I had the Southwestern Wrap and a brownie. I was so happy with this place that I knew I had to go back the following day after my race. And that's exactly what I did. The following day I had a BBQ Burger with their own house made patty. And this time I had even more dessert. All the desserts are vegan, and they are awesome! I tried all of them. The chocolate chip cookie, the brownie, and the chocolate mousse were delicious.
