My review is based on take out only. I was in the mood for Japanese food and wanted to try Sakura Sushi on Triangle Rd, so I placed my order over the phone and it was ready when promised in 20 minutes. Sakura Sushi has a large menu, including a kids menu. There is something for everyone. I ordered their Sushi Dinner- 10 pieces of various sushi, and a Spicy Tuna Roll. It came with Miso Soup, and Green Salad with Ginger Dressing. I also ordered their Valentine Roll-Spicy Tuna, Crunch, Avocado inside,Spicy Tuna Outside. Everything I ordered was delicious. The Miso soup had seaweed and tofu in it. It was warm and comforting. The Green Salad was fresh and crisp not watery like some other places, and oh that Ginger Dressing made the salad. Then on to my sushi. It was beautifully displayed and had fresh wasabi and pickled ginger and a separate container of soy sauce for dipping. Every piece was fresh, including my Valentine Roll. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. My boyfriend ordered Steamed Pork Gyoza for an appetizer. They were good. For his entree he chose their Beef Teriyaki Dinner. Beef Teriyaki pieces with fresh Vegetables and Fried Rice. His dinner also came with Miso Soup, and Green Salad with Ginger Dressing. He enjoyed his meal but wished the beef was more pink and medium rare. . They do have seating if you choose to eat in. The dining room looked nice. PRO TIP: Their bento box lunch specials ($13.95) CAN'T BE BEAT if you order shrimp tempura from column B! When you order shrimp tempura in the lunch special, you'd think that they'd just put 2 shrimp tempura pieces in your bento box...but they include 2 shrimp tempura AND veggie tempura (broccoli, eggplant, zucchini, and sweet potato - one of each). That's like an entree in itself and a dream come true for those who wanna ball on a budget and each some delicious noms!!! Honestly that's the best part of the bento box lol. But the tuna roll and teriyaki (I've had beef negimaki and beef teriyaki) are also very good - just not as generous or filling. They also charge for hot tea ($1.50) - just FYI as I know some Japanese restaurants don't charge for it. Service is very quick and friendly and there's ample parking since it's located in a strip mall. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the fish, the sushi rice was really good (just the right level of sweetness, sticky but not pasty). Love this place alot! I've been here 3 times already. Their lunch special is such a great bang for your buck. I ordered the lunch box special. You get a choice of a sushi roll, an side dish and a main protein dish. I get the tuna roll. The tuna inside is very thick and they don't skimp on it. I get the shrimp tempura for the side dish. This comes with 2 shrimp tempura, one eggplant, zucchini, broccoli and a sweet potato. That's 6 pieces of tempura! I also ordered the beef teriyaki. The quality of the mear is very good. It is soft and the sauce is amazing. Comes with broccoli and onion. You also get a miso soup and a salad with ginger sauce for appetizers. There's so much for for under $14. I recommend adding the ginger sauce in your rice for an extra kick. This place is a must try! read more

Happened to pull off into a parking lot to check Yelp for a place to eat and Sakura Sushi popped up as one of the higher rated restaurants around so I gave it a go. As other reviewers mentioned, there seemed to be a number of regulars and the staff was dressed in traditional garb. Taking my cue from the reviews, I tried the hand rolled spicy salmon, the AK-47 and the scallop sashimi. To drink, some warm green tea and for desert the red bean mochi. Everything was very fresh, served quickly, but not rushed. The bill was returned promptly. All in all, a pleasant experience. The spicy salmon didn't blow my mind, but the AK47 wrapped in picked carrots (?) ginger (?) was amazing. One of the better new rolls I've tried in some time. read more

Service was very slow on a Saturday night with only few tables of people (quite surprise that there were so many empty tables on the weekend).Still, we waited long for the waiter to get our order and serve the food. There was only one waiter. Food - sushi and sashimi were okay. Nabe yaki udon was not good. It has two pieces of shrimp tempura in it and both were already soft when the bowl arrived and all the tempura flakes (outer shell) fell apart as soon as I picked it up. All I left was the shrimp inside. There are also small pieces of boiled chicken inside and some small pieces of vegetables. We asked for hot tea. The tea was pretty diluted and no one came to refill. I think it's a bit pricey for the quality of food (at least for the udon) and also service. If you do go there, sushi is probably a better choice. read more

Mediocre sushi joints are a dime a dozen across the state, but Sakura definitely stands out. The fish is incredibly fresh for such an unassuming location tucked away in your typical non-descript Jersey strip mall. We went here for dinner the other night, and it was fantastic. This place does mostly takeout business so the dining room was pleasantly quiet with soft Japanese music in the background. The staff is very attentive and polite, and it's BYO so you can bring along a nice bottle of wine. The sushi was amazing. We only had maki rolls and some tuna sashimi, and some edamame for an appetizer. We had a few of the standard rolls (dragon, spider, rainbow) and a local special called the Godzilla roll, which is deep fried! Everything tasted wonderfully fresh and flavorful. Went here last week and was completely disappointed. It was not busy when we arrived and we were seated right away. When a server didn't come for a while and I noticed other tables were not served I got that feeling that things would be going downhill quick. The night continued at this pace. Everything, yes everything, took forever. As people came in to get their takeout orders they waited too. The place is cramped so they had no choice to wait impatiently while watching us diners wait even more impatiently. I felt like a fish in a bowl. The food was ok, on par with an all you can eat sushi place. Definitely not worth the value. I just couldn't wait to get the check and go home. I will not return and would not recommend this place. If you want decent sushi for a great price go to Sushi Palace. If you want great sushi locally and are prepared to pay up for it, go to Shumi. read more

Of course, much of the dining experience is lost with the current COVID-19 epidemic. But when my family craved sushi, we knew just who to call for take out, and they did not disappoint. The fish is as fresh as ever and they are taking all types of heath precautions to make sure the product they deliver is the finest and completely safe.
