Delicious Food & Understand Service. The scallops was one of Best I ever try in NJ Restaurant!

    Cheesesteak (very good)

It took me too long to try this place. I had thought it to be very similar to scores of other Italian restaurants in the surrounding area. And to some degree it is. But even on this first visit I can see how it surpasses many of them. I decided to bring my uncle for an extra opinion. The specials looked good but I was in the mood for something more lunch like. I went for the cheesesteak. My uncle selected fettuccine alf and we shared the chopped antipasto. This was a decent and huge salad, but unfortunately also contained chopped olives which I asked to be omitted, it probably wasn't possible. Arriving at the same time was a nice garlic cheese bread, nothing earth shattering but above the standard bread and butter for sure. I enjoyed my steak sandwich very much. This is not Philly style, large chunks of perfectly tender filet along with mush onions and peps all of which had some time on the grill. The fries and coleslaw were good too, coming in at 10 bucks I thought it a bargain. My uncle liked his pasta very much, even enough to say it was as good as his fav place. This was a lunch portion and even for me would have been 2 meals. The service was very good and our waiter had extensive knowledge of the menu. Even though the strip mall seems an odd place for a very good place, they created a nice ambiance inside. Im already planning a return trip for dinner. Oh yeah, BYOB!

Linguine with meatball at 12 o'clock Chicken parm top right Eggplant parm bottom right

Ordered takeout Based on reviews we ordered the following meals. Eggplant parmigiano Rating 2 stars Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken Rating 1 star Lettuce wedge. Rating 4 stars Linguine with meatballs Rating 3 stars Pollo parmigiano Rating 2 stars The chicken and eggplant parmigianos were salty and bland. We added spices ourselves to the dishes. The lettuce wedge and bleu cheese crumbles with bacon tasted good. The side salads contained a lot of brown lettuce pieces. Sides of potato and veg mixed in with entrees The eggplant parm portion was very small. Prices high for quality and portions. We were happy to try this restaurant. We came away disappointed.

    Complimentary seasoned bread.

The vibe is old school and cozy and was beautifully decorated for the season. We started at the bar with vodka martinis that were made perfectly by the friendly bartenders and generously filled as well. We asked if we could move to a table for dinner and they accommodated us immediately telling us to take our time at the bar and showed us the table they reserved for us when we were ready to sit. Once we sat down our server, Tony, came over immediately and introduced himself. He told us about the restaurant and also about the nightly specials. We decided on the clams casino appetizer. While we were waiting he brought us fresh baked Italian bread and homemade butter. It was delicious and when we were down to the last piece a new loaf was put down without even asking. The clams and lemon wine butter sauce were delicious. Salads came soon after in a light vinegarette with fresh sliced cheese. The entrees we ordered were the Roebling Veal Chop milanese style and the seafood pasta. Both were delicious and the chop was giant! For desert we shared "A little of everything" which consisted of a tartufo, a tiramiso, and a canoli. They gave us 2 complementary limoncellos to have with desert. The owner stopped by to see how everything was and kicked up a conversation about the restaurant and how it owned it for 39 years. It started in Chambersburg, a once vibrant little Italy in Trenton that no longer exists. Throughout the night we were treated like VIPs and truly like family. This date night at Marsilio's kitchen was more than a meal. It was a dining experience and we will certainly be back soon.

It's dark and cozy and has a lovely large bar set off to the side of the eating area. We have enjoyed Thanksgiving here for several years as well as many many many meals they are consistently yummy and always warm and welcoming. This is one restaurant where I've never had a bad meal. I ordered the Penne Alla Vodka with breaded chicken--creamy, flavorful, and super satisfying. An 8/10 for me. My sister had the gnocchi with breaded chicken and was raving--she gave it a 9/10 without hesitation. We also had a couple drinks, and let me tell you--they were made with love. You could taste the care in every sip. Terri and Ron took amazing care of us--so kind, welcoming, and genuine. I've been going here for over 15 years so you're gonna have issues occasionally with most places, but I just HATE ignorance. I walked in just now to get my food, it's 9:10 p.m. so the restaurant is basically empty, if not completely. As I walk up I see a guy come from the back, and i announce my name and that I'm here for pickup, silence... I then look down and notice either a customer or server left a VERY LARGE amount of cash rolled up in a reciept, on the customers side of the register. I'm honest, so I let the guy know. He takes it, not even a thank you. We continue the transaction, complete silence. Despite this, I even told him " thank you, have a good night ". Nothing. I can't understand how you can hire people to deal with customers who are this ignorant. Just unreal. I still am giving a 4 star because I really like the food, but this isn't the first time I've dealt with a rude person at register, so I can't brinf nyself to give them a 5. The food is good, prices aren't bad, but hopefully you don't deal with the same guy I just did. Straight ignorance. I don't understand how you can be that rude to customers, ESPECIALLY one who could've just got you for a large some of money because of their mistake SMH

It wasn't showing up on my account. I called the restaurant and they were able to find and confirm. I don't know if it's an Open Table glitch. They were so accommodating upon arrival when our party went from 9 people to 7. The staff was amazing and on top of everything. We ordered apps off the dining room menu but they let us order large pizzas instead of the 12" ones. We had calamari and bacon wrapped shrimp. I love that they offer the calamari in both fried and grilled. I was outvoted on the grilled but I have to say that the squid was perfectly cooked. Not chewy or fishy at all. Very tender. The breading was light and not greasy at all. The bacon wrapped shrimp were interesting. The shrimp were huge. They were drenched in BBQ sauce. I thought it was ok but I'm not sure about the flavor combo. We ordered a large plain and a large pepperoni. I thought the plain was delicious. The dough was good and not too much flop. The sauce was a bit sweet, which I like. The only issue is that the cheese and sauce didn't stick to the dough so it slid off while cutting. Overall, I think they did a great job with a large group during weekday lunch.

Arancine crispy risotto stuffed with ragu bolognese, pomodoro, pecorino- I was not aware it's an actual shredded meat inside the arrancini usually it's just plain cheese stuffed. The pomodoro sauce i was not a fan of I was not sure if it's just blended tomato sauce because i could taste the raw garlic and the sauce itself is so much liquidy( we make our own tomato sauces at home from our garden we grow heirloom tomatoes). Calamari Fritti crispy fried calamari, roasted tomato pesto, basil oil- a couple of the squid it's so rubbery I hardly ate them. It's a NO for me. Pasta Fritta Crispy bucatini pasta fritters "alla Nerano", zucchini, provolone, sweet corn bechamel- this has 2 portions, This is the best one of out the other two apps I ordered. I never would thought about making a buccatini pasta as a fritters with zucchini and the sweet corn bechamel made my night.! If I come back again- this would have been my entree and will order 2 servings. Our entree: Spaghetti alla Carbonara spaghetti pasta, guanciale, egg yolk, cream, pecorino cheese- I love it although I got too full from Eating the buccatini fritters. The guanciale Has a smokey flavor but not overpowering. The carbonara has great flavor. Penne Pomodoro e Basilico penne pasta, tomato sauce, pecorino cheese, basil oil- I feel the pomodoro sauce is weak. I had better tasting tomato sauce than this one. My guest upgraded it and got ceasar salad (no picture bc I forgot. It was $2 and i feel the ceasar to small , not enough ceasar dressing and we said no onions- they had onions in the salad. They could have served in a bowl rather in a small plate. For dessert I ordered Flourless Chocolate cake- I had better one from Other restaurants. It's chocolatey but i feel something is missing. I should have ordered the lemon tart instead. Overall, I feel that the atmosphere and service were mediocre. Did they not know about any bday celebration tonight? I added it in my open table reservatioWe were the first one got seated near the front door that one room With 16 ppl by the time we finish our dinner. Our server was not very much attentive. Our coke and ginger ale were flat and I feel Like it is not the branded coke and canada dry ginger ale served to us. Prices were reasonable. Bill was about $98 for two people. 3 apps, 2 pasta entree and 1 small ceasar salad, 1 Dessert I gave 3 stars because I love the buccati fritters and the carbonara. Other than I had better italian food. I was hoping to be seated where the main dining room but we weren't seated there.
