Went for brunch delicious food, beautiful views, and the pricing honestly wasn't bad at all. Everything we ordered was flavorful and fresh, and the atmosphere made the experience even better. Definitely a spot worth visiting!

This is a rooftop bar only review as we just hung out and had some drinks. The outside bar didn't open until 4p on a Saturday, and after it opened, we ordered some espresso martini's with Licor 43 which were pretty good. The dirty martini's were made extra dirty on request and the rose was flowing as well. They also had a Del Maguey mezcal flight which was a nice way to finish off the afternoon. The bartender was friendly and engaging and was also prompt with service, even after the bar filled up. She said it can get busy in the evening hours and also as the restaurant side opens up. If you're staying at the Element or the Aloft hotels (they're in the same building), this is on top, near the rooftop pool. 7th Floor!

This place has great views and it's super cute inside and outside! I ordered a sangria and the short rib and yucca hash. The drinks were really good, however I would not recommend the food here at all. The short rib was extremely dry and hard and the yucca hash was extremely dense and flavorless, which was very disappointing considering the prices. I had two drinks and the dish on my check, however the server split up the items, I requested to put them together however they were charged separately with the automatic gratuity on each so it ended up being more. I'd only recommend this place for the views and drinks, I wouldn't waste your money on the food!

If you've ever wondered what it's like to be gaslit by your water glass, welcome to Sal Y Mar. I politely asked the server not to pour me the tap water. She then proceeded to stare me down like I had just spoken in ancient Sumerian, grabbed the glass anyway, and dumped in the forbidden Florida faucet juice like we were in a hydration hostage situation. She then dramatically introduced herself and said she'd be our server... as if that wasn't painfully obvious from the whole unsolicited waterboarding situation. But wait: plot twist! She forgot our drink order because she didn't write it down. Maybe she thought the water moment was so iconic it would carry the whole shift. Spoiler: it did not. The food? Absolutely phenomenal! Every bite was perfection! We ordered the 23-karat gold tomahawk, and the chef himself came out to present it. That hunk of shimmering, gilded meat was fit for royalty and honestly, it made me forget for a second that my water came with a side of passive-aggression. So yes, come for the views and stay for the 5-star food just don't expect the service to match the price tag...unless you're into culinary Stockholm syndrome.

We came here celebrating one of our friends and we saw online that they have a great happy hour, we were kind of a big group so we decided to sit at a table, that's when they told us that the happy hour it's at the bar only, thing that was not advertised in the happy hour but well we decide to stay and share a couple wine bottles, shoutout to their wine selection it's actually pretty nice. We shared a couple appetizers, the tostones were very average and the charcuterie board was just okay, the star of the night were those croquetas, they are outstanding and one of the best things of our night here. The vibes and the views are great but that's all it's worthy here. It's one of those place that you are paying just for a nice view. Our waiter was not that attentive either, he was actually kind of rude when we asked for the happy hour, which is crazy if you as a restaurant advertise that, so my stars are actually just going to those croquetas, the view and that great wine we had!

I just came here for happy hour and it was fantastic. We enjoyed the roof top bar and the weather was perfect. The happy hour options were great and I thoroughly enjoyed all our food in drinks. I loved the tostones shooters, so good! All the bartenders were so friendly and made great drinks. Bathrooms were nice and clean! A great spot for drinks and food!

When I looked at the menu and location of the restaurant, I had rather high expectations going in. But I left feeling disappointed, especially with it being Mother's Day. It is important to say that this is not a reflection on the server/waitress that I had. She was great! Given the situation, she did her best with the situation and I'm very appreciative of her effort. However, this restaurant seriously had some serious mismanagement and oversight. On Mother's Day, of all days, how are you this severely understaffed? I know you had 3 large parties that came in, but if you know you were going to be short handed, perhaps you should have limited or restricted the number of reservations rather than stretching your staff so thin. Because of this, the overall service and experience suffered. I show up 10 minutes before my reservation time and ended waiting 20 minutes past my reservation time before I was seated. I put in order for appetizers and they didn't come out until the entrees came out. The entree itself, which the braised beef short rib was pretty tender, the overall plate was lukewarm. The Yuca Mash was under seasoned and I didn't get any of the seasonal root vegetables that were listed on the menu to accompany my dish. While the Croquettes and Baked Oysters were decent in flavor, they too were lukewarm. I truly hope this restaurant and management can get things in order. This is a great location and has potential to turn out great food. But if you have these operational shortcomings on major holidays, it really doesn't reflect well on the restaurant as a whole.

A pleasant hideaway with a delightful view. Finding parking can be tricky unless you want to pay for the valet. We managed to grab the last space in the small lot behind the building, but I wouldn't count on it on a regular basis. They have a good selection of beverages and lots of food choices. My wife and I shared their Ahi Tuna Nachos, which tasted even better than they looked. Sadly, we were hungry, and we didn't stop to take pictures. You should order them, and you'll love them too. However, please grab a couple of pictures to post and correct our oversight.

I do love this spot when I stay in Tampa. The menu selection is very limited. I would like to see more options. The drinks are on point and for the most part service is really good. I love the views from the rooftop and with good weather, it is a nice place to hang out. A

Attentiveness of the waitstaff made me feel like royalty This restaurant sits atop the Aloft hotel with magnificent views downtown tampa. The Aloft hotel has a rooftop pool next to the restaurant. I noticed many of the hotel guests order food and drinks from sal y mar and head to the pool. I ordered the pork belly sandwich with plantains. Generous portions of pork belly. It's topped with a delicious creamy goat cheese spread and garlic toasted buns. 10/10 This is my new favorite tampa spot. Will definitely return.

What a lovely surprise! It's kind of hidden on Bay Street. It's behind the Restoration Hardware Gallery. You'll see the outdoor patio area on the left as you're exiting the food court. In fact, that appears to be the main entrance (or it was that day). There's another entrance next to the Shake Shack as well. The interior is very reminiscent of bistros in various parts of Europe. It's somewhat dark & moody with warm wood furnishings. The wine/coffee bar is the focal point. The seating is comfortable & diverse. There are also large tables set up for groups of people. It's definitely a great meeting place after a day of shopping. It's also great for couples on a date. I was the first one there that afternoon, and had my pick of tables. They have such a great wine list. I already knew what I wanted thanks to the great descriptions on the menu. The white wine flight is a pick of any 3 from the menu. I had a generous pour of a few French Sauvignon Blanc wines and a Blanc de Franc. It was my first time trying the latter white Cabernet Sauvignon. What a treat! I loved all 3, but my absolute favorite was the one from Domaine Doudeau-Léger. The service here was wonderful. Nina gave me some great suggestions when I asked about the toasts. I ended up choosing the Wild Truffled Mushroom one. It was delicious! The mushrooms were the star of the show. The subtle hint of truffle really brought out the natural flavors. I totally recommend this one. If you're a mushroom lover, there's a mushroom & pea soup that was also recommended. I couldn't leave without dessert. I think my only disappointment was that they didn't have the croissants ready. The Crème Brûlée one is popular as well as the Basque Burned Cheesecake. It would have taken an additional 30 minutes. I ended up getting the Pistachio Ricotta Cake. It turned out to be a good decision because the croissant would have been too filling for me. This cake was perfectly light and paired very well with the cappuccino. They serve Kimbo Italian espresso for all you coffee lovers out there. Even the small detail of having a delicious Italian biscotti cookie bite in the spoon was the perfect ending for me. I'm looking forward to more visits. Hopefully, I'll get to try that croissant dessert that everyone raves about. They serve brunch on the weekends. That's what I want to try the next time I'm at International Plaza.

So on a long shot a placed a pick up order with the hopes that I would get a message with the new location. Well that was a bad idea because all I got was $10 taken and no food or information. It stayed in the waiting for 10&10 to confirm my order screen until they closed and then it went to ordered picked up at 9:09 pm. I tried to get a refund with Door Dash but was denied due to their Credit Card terms and policy's so dashers beware. Of course those Tampa views are amazing and it wasn't too crowded -- we booked reservation so we were seated right away. There is bar seating that I assume is first come first serve. It's a very intimate spot, so I also wouldn't advise too big of a group coming here -- it is NOT a club, there is no dancing lol. While the music was not my speed, is was still a nice vibe. The service was really nice. We had 2 or 3 people come check on us which I appreciated as everyone was pretty busy it was nice to have multiple people making sure we were good. The food menu is very sparse so don't come here to get full -- it's more of finger foods and lite bites. NOT dinner. They have a full alcohol menu. The food menu is primarily why I gave it 4 stars, but I would come again for a cocktail and to mingle perhaps. The Buns were flavorful. I was a big fan of the texture of the meat. Something about it was too soft, but it was flavorful. This would likely be what I would recommend to get though lol. The Mediterranean pizza was OK, just different. The dumplings were also decent. The ticket/tab can surely climb quickly when you're having a good time, so do with that what you will.
