    More sauce than food.
    Stacey C.

I should have left when I walked in. It smelled like grease and bathroom. I sat for a few minutes and was going to leave but they came out with the food so fast. My meal was less than lack luster. It tasted watered down bland sauce. The portion was very small. I hope I don't get sick from the food. I will never come back. The AC was broken and dripping water as you came in. I was so angry I spent my money here.

The Best Thai Restaurant in Jacksonville--Hands Down! This place never disappoints! Their Thai tea is consistently perfect--smooth, rich, and just the right amount of sweetness. For an appetizer, we ordered the spring rolls, which came in a set of three with a delicious sweet and sour-style dipping sauce (forgive me, I can't recall the exact name!). My husband went with the chicken fried rice, and the waiter brought out a Thai chili spicy sauce that paired beautifully with it, adding just the right amount of heat. I usually stick to my favorite--mussaman curry with tofu--but this time, I switched things up and got it with chicken. And wow, it was just as incredible! The flavors were deep, comforting, and absolutely delicious. Our server was fantastic--attentive, friendly, and checked in on us often without being intrusive. For dessert, I treated myself to mango and sticky rice, and every bite was heavenly. The mango was incredibly fresh, with a soft, buttery texture that melted in my mouth. And let's not forget the ambiance--the booths give off a cozy, transportive vibe that makes the whole experience feel special. Food: Outstanding Service: Exceptional Ambiance: Inviting and unique If you're craving authentic Thai food in Jacksonville, this is the place to go!

This is a Thai restaurant in a strip off beach Blvd a friend said they really enjoyed the food here and we needed to try it so I was excited to go! Walking in they have the built in booths where it's like your own private area which is really cool! Started with an app sampler which was delicious! Spring rolls, egg rolls, fried shrimp, curry crab wontons , no complaints all tasted great nice and crispy! Next we got coconut soup, Tom kha, I love this soup, this was a more savory version with hardly any sweet creamy coconut notes in it, still good but not my fav version. Next we got pad see ew, flat noodles in a sweet and savory sauce with veggies and chicken, delicious!! This dish was exactly how I like it, flavorful with crisp veggies, yum! House fried rice, with all proteins including crab! Yummy!! The seasoning on it was very delicate! To top it off, mango sticky rice, De- lish!!!!

Overall, great flavored dishes but extremely little portions. The atmosphere was very cute and they had Thai-style booths in the restaurant. I'd recommend the drunken noodles or the red curry, both had really good bursts of flavor that hit the spot. They were both sweet and spicy, the red curry's coconut flavor sold the dish. The only complaint would be the curry dish's serving size is the size of a kid's portion. Do not get the crispy duck, the serving size was about 4 small slices of duck for a pretty high price, and they admitted the portion size for duck shrank in the past 2 years. The fried rice didn't have any flavor, so I wouldn't recommend ordering it. I was really excited to try this place but my family was disappointed by the small serving size.

Had to stop one of our favorite Thai spots they never dissapoint. Great tasting food with the hospitality of a family owned restaurant. All the dishes are seasoned perfectly with just the right amount of spice to your liking. If in the area give them a try you won't be disappointed.

Food was good, cool seating. Not super family friendly, no changing room in woman's restaurant. Have to change your child on their floor or out in the booth in the restaurant...

Crispy Duck and it's still crispy even when taken to-go!

Hands down our favorite Thai restaurant, and not just in Jax! Been coming here for over 10 years and the food has not changed. It's just as delicious as it was the very first time we dined. Note: hours have changed since covid. They are now open until 8:30 on week days and 9:30 on weekends, with last seating 30 min prior to closing. The crispy duck has always been a long time favorite of mine, and today I even learned that it's just as crispy and delicious when taken to-go! The duck is boneless and a mix of perfectly tender and crispy. It is served on top of a bed of veggies in a light brown sauce with a dark brown sweet and sour type sauce for the duck on the side. If you're a fan of duck, this dish is to die for. Another one of our favorites is the pad thai. Trust me when I say that I've had this dish at tons of restaurants throughout the years, and none have ever compared to here. For being such a basic staple dish, it's never nearly as good as what Sala Thai does. Other notable mentions: Sala Thai fried rice, red and panang curries, pad see ew, appetizer sampler, and Thai tea. No matter where we've traveled (NYC, Cali, Toronto, Orlando, and other foodie cities), Sala Thai has remained at the top of our list. Give it a shot and you won't be disappointed!

Sala Thai!! One of my favorite Thai restaurants on the Southside of Jax. Always start off with the amazing Thai tea and then on to some crab Rangoon's (they call them something different though) and my favorite yellow curry with Jasmine rice. The flavors in the yellow curry are so amazing and I usually end up eating it all in one sitting. Don't forget to grab a couple of Thai teas to go, you'll regret it if you don't!! They are really trying to focus on social distancing but they are still pretty busy! I dined in and had a great experience!

My go to place to get Thai food, I always get the pork Pad Thai and I have to eat half of my boyfriend gets the red curry with extra bamboo shoots and he is actually the person who introduced me to this place. I love to eat in for the cozy dining experience and amazing staff. They're very knowledgeable and offer good suggestions and are speedy, not to mention so sweet. The style of the restaurant is very comforting especially the booths which are my favorite. If you like sweet tea I recommend trying the Thai tea, you will become addicted it's so good. So grateful for an amazing local Thai restaurant near me!

I got Pad Thai with tofu no bean sprouts. The portion size was large, enough for leftovers. I got the spice level hot and it delivered! I got it to go but after going into the restaurant to pick it up, I would definitely like to eat in because of the overall vibe. The total was $18 which is a little pricey but typical for a pad thai dish of this size. I would say more tofu would be nice, it was a smaller amount than I would have hoped for.

Came here on a whim. So happy we did! It's tucked away in a strip mall across from sams club but don't let that fool you. The inside is just the best. I love the booth sheeting which is a U shape to sit many people. They have lots of tables too if that's you're preference. Also our server was the sweetest woman ever she took such good care of us with refills and checking if we needed anything. Ordered hot green tea, Coke, fried dumpling, yellow curry (medium spice) and chicken pad Thai (mild spice). It was so delicious. I even was able to customize my order for the curry (no carrots, extra potato) and it was not an issue at all. The Coke came in a can which is great bc particularly around Jax, when it comes from a beverage gun it tastes funny/bad (restaurants probably not cleaning the tubes or syrup running low or pushing more than one button; but I digress). Medium yellow curry had spice to it! The curry is sweet but the spice lingers on the back of the tongue (perfect in my opinion). Pad thai tastes so fresh and had a nice grilled flavor to it. Hands down the only thai place we will go to in Jax from now on. Can't wait to come back and try the Tom Yum soup and see if it compares to that of Thailand.

Dining area. Booths have roofs - quaint.

I had the drunken noodle Thai hot with chicken and to be honest, it was just heat. It wasn't crazy hot but there really wasn't much flavor than the heat. It seemed that whatever sauce concoction they normally make - soy, fish, oyster, and sriracha - was lacking. In comparing this to other drunken noodle I've had around town, unfortunately I have to place it at the bottom for depth of flavor. The restaurant itself is a quaint setup with booths that have little roofs. Staff was friendly and enthusiastic so that environment could make for a pleasant dine-in experience. I've heard good things about their curry so I may have to give them another shot for just that reason. Beyond that, I'll look elsewhere for my noodle entrees.

Sala Thai truly has the greatest Thai food restaurant in the entire city of Jacksonville. How can I review what I know to be the epitome of authentic Thai cuisine? Other than the fact that there is no comparison to it, Sala Thai feels like home. It's almost like reviewing your own mom's homemade food. It's impossible because all you can say is wow, you've done it again! Sooooo delicious! The first time I experienced Sala Thai was in 2008. A decade later and their food has remained consistent throughout the years. Red curry, green curry, roasted duck, fried rice, drunken noodles, and of course the well known pad thai etc.. all of them are made to PERFECTION here. The two different seating arrangements are very creative. You can sit in the cute hut-like sections with the seat cushions or traditional tables. The restaurant itself isn't trendy nor does it scream for attention. One bite of their food and you will be hooked! I come here every month! There's just something spectacular about Sala Thai. Don't hesitate and try it for yourself!

Honestly the food was really good. And I feel like this has been the best ramen I've had in…read moreJacksonville. The chicken karaage was probably my favorite of the night. It was super crispy, but the meat was still so juicy. And the sweet and creamy sauces just finished the perfect bite. The ramens were pretty solid too. The matcha broth was super creamy and light. And the tonkotsu was so flavorful, with really tender chashu and a perfectly soft boiled egg. Plus the noodles were a really good texture. The restaurant itself is really cute too. They also have a convenience store type of ramen station in the front, which I really want to try. As well as a little arcade game that you can play in the front while you wait to be seated. However, I was really not a fan of the service. It's nothing really against the servers because they were super nice, but they just seemed so frazzled. We arrived around an hour before closing, but it took forever for us to be seated, despite seeing a few empty tables around. By the time we were seated, we were told kitchen would be closing in two minutes, so we had to hurry and put in our orders. All of that was fine and I didn't mind. But what I did mind was that our waitress checked our order twice when we first have it. And she came back to our table within the next five minutes to check our orders again for a third time to make sure she had down what we wanted. I wanted the matcha ramen and was most looking forward to having some chashu and egg. So she confirmed my order three times that I wanted matcha ramen. But when it came out, she gave me the vegetable bowl. I knew the kitchen had closed at that point, so I just ate it, but I was really disappointed. (I did get to try a bite of my friends egg and chashu, which also didn't really help because it was so good and made me wish mine came with those even more.) When we were finished eating, it took forever for the checks to come out. This I also didn't mind that much, because the servers, again, looked really frazzled trying to close up. But at this point we had waited until well after their closing time, so part of me was hoping they could just close us out first and then finish closing down the place. I think we waited at least half an hour from when we first asked for the check (at which point we had already been waiting a while) to when we finally got our cards back. I did see they charged me for the vegetable version of the matcha ramen so it was whatever, but then also I was confused - so it wasn't a mix up in the kitchen, she rang it up as the vegetable one from the beginning! Even though I never mentioned it and she never said vegetable when confirming my order. It was a dollar less to get tofu instead of an egg and chashu which doesn't seem worth it. Writing this all out, I'm sorry to rant, because the food really was good. And looking at other reviews, it looks like the service is usually pretty good. But again, it was just disappointing. That being said, I am really hoping it was a one off thing because I would go again and try some other menu items too.

I just had a late lunch in MODU Ramen yesterday and I was thoroughly impressed…read more The first thing was the Service... the waitress was welcoming and attentive throughout the meal. She was patient as my wife and I and a few friends reviewed the large menu with her, and followed up throughout our meal. The second was the food We started with sharing an appetizer of garlic soy fried chicken wings and dumplings...very tasty Then I had Tonkotsu Ramen and my wife had tempura udon... both were large servings, with home made noodles and a favorable pork broth with fresh vegetables. Mine had a 3 pieces of a thick cut pork and egg in the broth what was really surprising was when the dessert came... I think it was called mango Bing Soo... What it is, is a huge bowl of shaved ice with Mango and cream. It was delicious... and perfect for after the main dish we ordered... and I would go there just to get that dessert alone.... Well our small UYE group got together on this evening to check out Ten Seconds Rice Noodle & Ramen…read more Jimmy, Lea, Goldie and I have found some real gems at times, but I think we like most to share some time and fellowship with each other. I rate it as a pretty good Asian restaurant with some minor flaws that can be easily fixed. BUT! I'll say up front that I didn't find any flaws with my meal and chosen beverage! Yes, I would certainly eat or do takeout here again! The good here, were the meals. The ramen, hibachi, and the dish that Lea ordered were sizable, filled with good meats and veggies - not just a rice or noodle stuffing. My hibachi with shrimp was cooked superbly! There was a nice orange sauce on the grilled shrimp and it was seared perfectly. I was a happy man. But it also came with fried rice (you can choose plan white rice too) and mixed veggies. It was a full meal indeed! Had to take some of it home. Jimmy also had the hibachi meal with chicken. He conquered his full meal - I don't know how! Goldie had one of the Japanese Tonkotsu Ramen bowls with chicken. It was filled with meats, vegetables and other items that she enjoyed for her evening meal. Given we ate on a Monday, it was pretty slow here - but there were a good number of carryout pickups too. My only real negatives was that the service was slow. It took quite a while to get my meal to me our server said it was because the carryout orders slowed things down inside. They had one server working on this evening and she was gracious and took pretty good care of us. The one other item we talked to each other about as far as this shop is concerned was the lack of air conditioning. It wasn't hot, but it was pretty warm inside. Yes, it was a very hot day and this restaurant has a large space to cool. So I can understand the need to conserve, but others may not. All in all we had a nice, relaxed evening with lots of jokes and smiles! This was a great place to meet up and I certainly would visit again! Recommend: HIGH
