We are having a hard time finding a good Chinese sit down restaurant. Google said this was sit down, but they only have 3 tables, one of which was taken by an employee on a laptop. We sat down anyway and had the meal served in to-go containers and styrofoam plates. The napkins on each table were in very old and gross kleenex boxes. Despite this weirdness, the food was really good. We ordered crab rangoon, which was packed with filling. We had chicken lo mein and kung pao chicken. Normally I love kung pao chicken because the chicken isn't breaded and therefore heavy, but this came breaded. It was still very good. We'll definitely be back! read more

The general tso's is some of the nastiest old grease tasting nuggets with thawed sauce i've ever tasted. Tastes like someone dipped their foot in it and left a fish head at the bottom of the fryer. Ordered: Dumplings Spring Rolls Sweet and Sour Chicken Pork Fried Rice Egg Drop Soup Dumplings were bland, unevenly cooked. She ate half of one. Sweet and Sour? Hubby and I were craving Chinese takeout so we decided to give Wok N Roll a try. I checked out their menu online then called and placed our order. We drove over and our order was hot and ready. We shared krab rangoons as our appetizer. These were good but I've had better. The sweet & sour dipping sauce was as expected and paired well. We also shared 2 different combination platters - General Tso's chicken and Sesame chicken. Both came with pork fried rice and an egg roll. We asked for the General Tso extra spicy which was good. The Sesame chicken was also good but I've had better. I like my Chinese chicken dishes saucy and both of these were on the drier side. I thought the pieces of chicken were a little heavy on the breading. The pork fried rice had pretty good flavor but I kind of felt like it was missing something. The egg rolls were decent, the texture of the cabbage was a bit off to me. Overall, I thought Wok N Roll was just okay Chinese food. The cashier was wearing a mask when I walked in. I appreciated that very much. I hate when I first walk into a restaurant and the cashier or hostess isn't wearing a mask and they talk to so many people on a daily basis. Food only took about 10 minutes for them to cook. First, and unfortunately last time ordering from here. We were craving Americanized Chinese food. We usually or from Peony, Lemongrass, or Nudo, but we thought we'd give Wok N Roll a try. We got the roast pork lo mein and general tzo chicken. It came with egg rolls. The egg rolls is what I expect now from places, cabbage with very little meat. At least they were crunchy and not over fried. The chicken was good. Nicely fried with a tasty sauce. The lo mein was such a disappointment. The noodles were very soft, soggy like, but that could be due to taking it out, even though I haven't had this trouble from other places. The sauce or seasoning on it was overly salty, it wasn't edible. Maybe it was an off day? Unsure, but we won't be eating here again. read more

Wok n Roll on San Jose is my go to for quick take out Chinese American food. My favorites are the orange chicken and the Mongolian beef. The house Low Mein noodles are also great. I've gotten some other dishes as well and they are all good. Don't forget the cheese wontons! read more

Typical Chinese take out, I tried this place based on a fellow Yelper's review which hinted towards another establishment close by. I reached out and confirmed what I suspected so I decided to give this place a try. Ordered our usual fare of wonton soup, egg roll, shrimp egg roll, crab rangoons, chicken wings and then some kind of chicken and vegetable type dinner. I wanted to compare it to the "other place" and threw in a couple of special requests just to do it. I was very happy with all of the items and felt the quality and taste was just a cut above what we had deemed as acceptable. The soup was more flavorful and the rangoons were filled more than the other place. I can easily say I'm a fan and this place will be added to my regular spots for quick dinner pick ups on the way home. So after being shunned by another nearby Chinese place for the way I ordered and given my food, I decided to give Wok n Roll another try. The first few times I had them was because my family loved their food, and at the time I thought their food was too greasy. Well, after having the other place for quite a while, Wok N Roll has more flavor and spice than the other place as I got so used to the "bland." I have a huge love for fried pork wontons, boneless BBQ pork, sweet and sour pork.... well, anything pork. The fried pork wontons are not greasy and very crispy. And it's stuffed enough that you can taste the filling, unlike some places where there is very little and it's just all wrapper. The crab rangoons are pretty good with just the right amount of filling. I've had their general tso's as well, and if you're like me who likes it really spicy, you will need to request it to be extra extra spicy. They are pretty quick with delivery. It usually takes about 30-45 minutes from when I order to when my food is delivered. Service is basic, but friendly, whenever I call, go in for take out, or have my food delivered. Wok n Roll is now my go to Chinese restaurant. read more

Top 5 local Chinese chicken place. Don't get it twisted, the fried rice and egg fu yung is great. But the classic Chinese chicken combo dishes shine here. Perfect texture and perfect sauce: General Tso, orange chicken, honey chicken, sesame chicken, and sweet and sour. Egg rolls, noodles, and apps are standard. But this is run by a local family that I feel I know because they recognize me and have watched me grow up after eating here 15 years. Heck, I remember when the kid at the counter was a toddler. Before I start, let me let you know that I've been spoiled on seven years of Green River, and my momma puts cayenne pepper in anything she deems bland. So I got the hot and spicy pork. I got it piping hot in about three minutes. Got it home, opened up and found a very good meat to veggie ratio. The meat was good cuts, no chewy pieces. So I mixed in some rice and dug in. Normally I don't like green peppers or carrots in my food but these were stir fried pretty nicely. My main problem with the dish was while it was hot temperature wise, it wasn't particularly spicy. I ordered on 4.29.21 from this place. I was thirsty an wanted her to charge me for the Coke in freezer. Not, seeing any prices listed by soda freezer, I just pick the Coke Bottle, instead of the can. Suddenly, this younger women who took my order started yelling at me, like I knew her or I was her child! "Saying I took the wrong Soda, that one cost $.75 cents more." Than, I really became irritable and reached back inside of my wallet to collect the change she was yelling about $.75 cents. While expressing, I am not her child and I will never come back there again. That is not the way to speak to any customer, nor her elder, and she is not my boss! Very disappointed with this service and her tone of voice with me. I know Chinese people are upset now days because of COVID-19 issues, but speaking to a paying customer of color, who made a mistake by accidentally picking up the wrong item; was not intentionally done! She, could have said sorry and let me know if I owed her anything else. Not, been so BITCHY and copping an attitude. NOT VERY NICE FOR BUSINESS! I was hungry for a light snack so I stopped in for an egg roll. Couldn't decide between pork and vegetable so I went with both. Service was fast and friendly, prices were very reasonable. I waited less than 10 minutes for my food. I ate the vegetable one first and it was hot and delicious. I orginally tried to go to my favorite spot Green Tea, but they were closed. This was my first time trying this place and were the food was not horrible, it wasn't good neither. I order sweet and sour chicken with shrimp fried rice...something simple. I don't understand how you leave the sweet out of sweet and sour sauce?!?! We started eating then the first thing I grabbed to eat was a crab stick and that is when the worst thing happened to me. I was most looking forward to the crab sticks. They were more on a pasty side,not much texture but worst of all when I bit into it it felt wrong and tasted like chemical I split it in half and noticed the crab stick was still wrapped with its plastic and had partly melted off onto the crab part then was still somehow not seen by the cook because it was still buttered up in frying batter and fried. I can't think of how this is not a food and health violation. Right now my throat hurts. I know they are not a five star fine dinning restaurant but this is unacceptable even for a fast food joint. read more

I moved to the Mandarin area about a year and a half ago. Chinese restaurants have always been a hit or miss for me so I've been reluctant to try one. I'm giving it a go now. We ordered delivery - Mongolian beef entree, Hunan Chicken, Chicken Lo Mein, Crab Rangoon. Food was delivery hot. Order was correct. The Mongolian beef was excellent, the Hunan Chicken was good. The Hunan chicken contained zucchini as part of the vegetables which I was pleasantly surprised. The Crab Rangoon was just like every other place but you have to order the sweet and sour sauce separate. My husband likes it so we had to have it. The Chicken Lo Mein was like drinking a bottle of sesame seed oil. It was so disgusting...it went to the trash immediately. I removed a star for the Lo Mein. It's a basic dish. For some, it's a go to for anyone who doesn't know where they are ordering but just want Chinese food. read more

Visited this restaurant on 5/27/22 to pick a Door Dash order. While waiting on order I witness two of the employees/employers drop utensils on the floor and pick them up and continued to prepare food with the same utensil. I really couldn't believe that they had no problem doing that while I was standing right there looking. When I addressed the situation and told them how unsanitary and dirty that is the employer began to then lie like I was blind and didn't see what I saw. She became hostile and upset. I would not recommend any one to eat from this place. I know I have told everyone I know about the situation in my family. With COVID still around the last thing you need is to eat unsanitary food that was prepared with unsensitized utensils. Therefore, eat at your own risk!!!
