2 stars because the lines to enter the sports complex were super long for no logical reason. The process to enter should be more efficient especially knowing in advance that hundreds of people will be attending an event Parking was also a cluster jam and not organized or efficient I was here for the Monster Jam and the event itself was fun and entertaining there where a lot of vendors on site however prices were outrageous my godson spent $30 on a snow cone that came with a commemorative cup Hard pass for me But at least now I can say I have been to a Monster Jam show LOL read more

If I could give a MINUS FIVE I would. Worst experience EVER. We have been attending the Monster Jam event every year for the last 8 years (except COVID years obviously because of closure.) Every year the line on Main St. to get to the parking lot has been getting worse. This year was the WORST amount of CHAOS I have ever experienced for an event. We got into the area an HOUR early and still missed the first half hour of the event due to the incompetence of the descriptions below. First of all there was absolutely NO POLICE PRESENCE. No cops directing vehicle or pedestrian traffic. No cones directing vehicles towards the parking lot. Nothing. So there were tons of cars blocking all lanes cutting in front of each other. Car horns going off on each other. Almost seen a few fist fights. It was ridiculous. Second. There were NO signs letting vehicles know that the parking lot was CASH ONLY. I can't even imagine all of the cars that waited for over an hour in a two block radius to get into the even and not having cash. And having to turn back out of the parking lot. Third. The lines for spectators to get into the event were a 1/4 mile long. And at times wasn't moving at all. We stood in line for 45 minutes with tickets in hand. By the time we got to the front the ticket takers were already waving people inside because even they had enough of the nonsense. Once we got inside the event was like any other. Great fun. Monster Jam as a brand had NOTHING to do with all of the madness above. It was the Salinas Sports Complex and the organizers that get the blame. I love going to this event and look forward to it every year. IMHO it is the best arena near the Bay Area for this event. But I don't think I will go next year. And I think many others will feel the same way. My kids didn't like all the madness. The angry parents swearing at each other. The honking. The stress. Salinas Sports Comlex. Get your ISHT together. Notify the Police and have them do their job to help with your event. Or hire some competent people to get vehicle and pedestrian traffic into your event more efficiently. What a great facility this is for the city of Salinas. Many huge events are held here annually including the California Rodeo, one of the biggest in the world. You will also find Monster truck races and many other big events. Lots of graduations are held here in May and June. Always very clean and well kept facilities. read more

This is specially about the softball fields concessions. My daughter plays travel softball and the concessions booth here is the absolute worst! The teenagers running the booth allow kids to cut in line and whenever you have to wait for your food to be prepared they tell you to go to the side window and then they forget about you. Twice I was waiting for fries or a burger and had to wait while they cooked them and while I was off to the aid waiting they started giving the freshly prepared burgers and fries to everyone who ordered after me. This afternoon the girl manning the credit card line was on her phone non stop, I asked for a large Diet Coke and she just stood there on her phone and ignored me so I didn't get my coke. When I was in line, someone went to the other window and called over a bunch of kids to order despite the fact that there was a line of people waiting ahead of these kids. read more

First time visit to see Aerosmith. We got the cheap grandstand seats and thank goodness we did. When I saw on Facebook them smoothing down the dirt, knew this was THE outdoor arena for the rodeo's. I joked that we at least have the non'manure seats:) Back to the venue. $25 bucks to park.. Eh ok. Entry was lackadaisical. No pat downs. No searching of your bags, just give them your ticket and your in. ALL alcoholic drinks are $10, beer or mixed. The place is managed by the Rodeo/Locals so don't expect SAP or Niner's type professionally managed concessions. Do expect long lines for everything! Remember you are not dealing with professional drink pourers so eh. The food 'stands' or trucks are local of taquerias, fair type food, churros and some damn good homemade churros at that. Fried calamari, artichokes, fish and chips. Ladies, especially those that love the five inch shoes in your hoochey clothes... nah ah. If your seats are up in the grandstands expect a workout girls getting up on the metal steps while trying to get your drink on. Surely not great on dirt floor either. Hence who knew this outdoor Rodeo jaunt would be just a fabulous place for a concert. Every seat was a winner with the huge screen graphics that were amazing. I just wished it was more organized as could deal with everything else. Otherwise had a fabulous time!!! read more

We went to the Blake Shelton concert. What a poorly managed and maintained facility. The food options are non-existent. There was a baked potato booth (so 1980's), a Mexican booth (bland and health code issues with the open salsa gallon containers on the condiment table), a garlic fries booth, a booth that I thought was Asian, and pizza. Really unhealthy and unappealing. The process to buy drinks is set up to benefit the house. Patrons have to stand in a long line to buy drink tickets and obtain an armband to prove they are 21 years old to the alcohol vendors. You wait in line so long for the drink tix that you end up buying more than you will use at $10 a pop so you don't have to wait in line again. I bet there are thousands of dollars in unused drink tix that the venue pockets. The lines for drinks had a 20 minute wait. Only 2 or 3 staff working a booth. One booth ran out of wine. How does that happen? There was only one beer choice -- Coors, margaritas (which we were in pre-mix machines and overly sweet), wine shooters (the cups were so small, it was a shooter), and somewhere there was more hard liquor drinks for purchase that was hidden. The seats were filthy. Venue staff roped off sections - see Section 16, Row 1 - where they let their family and friends sit. This costs the venue money. Staff also allowed interlopers from the cheap seats to stand in front of seated patrons. Bathroom facilities were inadequate for the crowd. Garbage staff left their tools for pulling recyclables out of cans on the ground across patron walkways. Liability. There were no staff posted during the performance to direct people out safely in case of an emergency. The people paying for boxes and reserved seating had to squint to see the performer because the stage placement was at the back of the arena. Bad experience. See your concerts elsewhere. read more

I got tickets to see Monster Jam on 5/6 and after trying for 2 hours to find a place to park had to turn around and go home. $80.00 bucks down the drain.!! Yes, I could have gone back home and gotten a ride, but by the time we got back down town and inside the stadium 3/4 of the show would have been over. Even the lines to get inside looked to be about a half hour wait at least. They clearly did not have it together for this event. I have been to many other events here before and never had an experience like this. If this is how things will be from now on, I'll be savings my money. Not sure I'll be back... read more

Can I give NO stars?! This place deserves it! The venue is so poorly managed, I will never go back. Just saw Aerosmith last night and paid top dollar for "Center Circle VIP" seats as this was my boyfriends favorite band of all time... From the beginning of the concert, people were in our row, in our space, on top of our seats... And Security did NOTHING! I paid to be 4 rows back from the band and instead of seeing Steven Tyler, I got to stare at 10 rows of people's phones taking photons and videos and being bumped by people in my paid for spot. A venue should not charge top dollar if they are not going to provide the quality they are charging for. Dirt floors, fold up chairs, no crowd control, people arguing over invasion of their space, no parking control, coors for $10 and no other beer available. NEVER AGAIN. read more

The seating for outdoor venue concerts is TERRIBLE. You are at the mercy of secondary market for tix and they gouge you. I don't mind paying higher price if seating is good and that is not the case here. I would never go here again for concert. read more

The salinas sports complex is a nice place to go and attend for shows and events but i have to say that there staff needs much help in customer service and the way they approach the attendees, I got the chace to speak to Ron, And Maunty, who said is the manager at the sports complex, they have the worst attitude for people, Acting like if they are the police. Gave me a hard time for parking my motorcycle. Just for simple parking they wanted to call police. Be careful of these people attendees. I wonder who is doing the background and hiring check. read more

Had fun at Aerosmith. Paid for assigned seat only I couldn't sit there. Some folks on the larger side should have paid for 2 seats. My girlfriend and I had about 6 inches of space total for us to try to sandwich in. We were lucky there was room in the grandstand for us to sit in another row. Had to get an over 21 bracelet on and buy drink tickets BEFORE getting in line to buy a drink. The lines are 20 minutes long for a drink so don't skip this step! $10 for a drink ticket. Paid $20 for a double shot of vodka and a splash of cran. Fresh hot churros in the grandstand. I like this place and would definitely come for another show but big frowny face on the seating. read more

Visited this place for a semi-pro football game this past weekend. Its the Spartans home field. Great complex and very very clean (hopefully they'll be able to keep that up). They serve Famous Dave's bbq which is great because who doesn't like bbq? However I approached the snack area to grab a water (possibly some bbq) and asked if they take a card, the woman replied nicely with a no cash only. I usually never carry cash anymore these days so I had to settle with just a water as I only had $3 on me because you had to pay cash to get into the game as well. Any how I go to watch the game and they kept announcing over the loud speakers that there was a bar in the stadium and they served some alcohol (great beer and bbq? how could you go wrong) so I walked over to see if they accepted a card and they didn't however they women told me there was an ATM by the entrance. Low and behold there it was an ATM, if I had known about this ATM when I spoke with the first woman they would have received a lot more of my business. There only downfall was not notifying of the ATM machine. Other than that long boring story this place is great very friendly and helpful the security staff and the workers. read more

This place is so poorly managed it was unreal. There is no way that they can accomodate the large concert crowds. I will never be back to this place. The parking is hell, which is normal for any venue I guess, but it's also $25 which seems steep. I didn't realize that would be one of the better parts of my experience. Once you get inside it's complete chaos without any good signs telling you which sections are where. Then there is the asinine drink buying process. Step one...find someone to give you a yellow wristband saying that you are 21 and over. Then find a booth to wait in line to buy drink tickets, $10 each even for Coors, THEN the real hell starts. Waiting in line for up to an hour to get super weak drinks. The place is all dirt so it's very dusty and dirty. I guess since it's in Salinas, all the police are standing around with their high powered rifles like some third world country. Do yourself a favor and catch that concert at Shoreline. read more

Went to order tickets for the rodeo this year from the redo website and it sent me to the motocross. I didn't notice the month was different and paid for the tickets. When I got to the rodeo they said it was the wrong tickets. When I asked if I could return them they said no and handed me the motocross tickets. I asked if a manager could help and all I was told was no sorry. If you would like rodeo ticket you can wait in line. I tries to preorder for 12 people and from there site and no help. I tried to dispute the charges and nothing they would not allow the bank to help. Worst customer service ever. I lost out on over 100.00. I wish they would review there policy. Park nearby, SEAT YOURSELF and bring own snacks! Just came back from Monster Jam at the Complex. The layout is fine, the complex is nice, etc. but teenagers as all the employees is a big mistake. Parking direction off main road was a nightmare with blocks of traffic and NO ONE directing. Of course 10 attendants were clustered together in the parking lot waving us on once we got in. Meanwhile, once seated, the nice old man next to us was bumped for being in the wrong seat even though he was seated by an employee. Guess what? We were bumped 10 minutes later for being in the wrong section and we were also originally seated by an employee. After I asked someone to walk me to the correct section, this new teen attendant brought me to 4 empty seats and told me to sit there. They were not our seats and the show was sold out. I said I wasn't going to move again once the ticket holders showed up. I was becoming enraged (we had 2 toddlers with us during this move) but my husband quickly found our seats. Whew! The sections were not clearly marked at all once you get through the tunnel. Also, cotton candy was $15 for a small bag. It was the one confection I wanted to buy, but the price was too high. We were so disappointed. read more
