Calamari and Chicken Parmigiana

Absolutely delicious. I have no complaints whatsoever. service was good, all my food was served fresh. it's been so long since I had good calamari, this place brought me back to Italian roots.

This was one of the few places delivering on the evening after our snow day here, and I didn't feel like cooking. So here we are... The pizza was just okay. The calamari tasted funny. I should've cooked.

This place lives up to the hype. This was the closest New Haven style pizza I've had in Texas. My…read morefavorite pizza was the pepperoni and Clam. I've heard the Basic was nice too. But the chicken pizza was average. The pizza was holding well to its name. We didn't try anything else other than garlic knots which was okayish. And nothing extraordinary about the tiramisu. And I liked the service and ambience was definitely vibing with the remodeled garland downtown. A great place to hang out with friends and family.

(just a fun fact) They seem pretty proud of that fact too, considering there's now a giant cowboy hat sculpture, "The Big Hat," right across the street. It's impossible to miss. Anyway, we weren't there for hats. We were there for pizza. First, a public service announcement. Figure out what you want before you walk in because the menu is only available through a QR code, and it is awful. You scroll. Then you scroll some more. Then somehow you're still scrolling. It feels less like ordering dinner and more like reading the terms and conditions for a mortgage. The two of us ordered a large pepperoni pizza, which turned out to be ambitious. We ate leftovers for days. Next time I'd definitely order the smaller size. My only real complaint about the pizza itself was the pepperoni. There was just TOO MUCH of it. Sure, I could have asked for "light pepperoni", but then I'd be paying full price for less topping, and that just goes against my personal philosophy. I'd love to see a "light pepperoni" option priced accordingly. ALSO not it is the good and greasy cupping pepperoni, kinda spicy. The pizza was also a little unevenly prepared. About half had a thicker crust while the other half was noticeably thinner. I definitely preferred the thinner side. Service was perfectly fine, the bathrooms were clean and nice, and the pizza was good overall. Just be prepared for the QR code marathon before you get to enjoy it.

The chef is obviously trained and talented. We went here for dinner on a Sunday because the kid wanted pasta. The menu actually is quite diverse with some Italian, Mexican, vegetarian, meat, burgers, and flatbread. Usually or often when a restaurant tries to do everything it ends up doing nothing well. That is not the case with the Italian that we had here. We started with a Caprese salad and it was pretty standard. The wife had lamb chops and they were cooked perfectly. Great sauce. The spinach and mashed potatoes were also perfect. I had chicken piccata. It was one of the best, if not the best, I have ever had. Chicken was tender and the sauce was excellent. The grilled vegetables were cooked perfectly. We had fruit tart (excellent), cheesecake (excellent) and chocolate cake (excellent) for dessert. We want to come back. If the Mexican is as good as the Italian food, this place is an all-time winner.

The quality of food that you are getting and the level of service you are getting is not what you would expect from the looks of the outside. When I entered, I was rather uncertain. The space looks like a stereotypical pizzeria. I wasn't impressed at all, but I was too tired to leave. HOWEVER, my attitude quickly changed as I was greeted by the outstanding wait staff. Over the course of my visit, I was checked on several times by what seemed to be either the owners or managers. In the heart of a busy city, these men went the extra mile to make me feel like a welcomed guest in their home. It was a very nice experience. I ordered the lasagna on the server's recommendation. What a plate of food! The meat sauce was not skimpy at all....lots of beef and flavorful seasoning. The noodles were soft while still firm enough to maintain the shape. The generous portion and the really soft bread were a great dinner to bring a long day to an end. As a lover of Italian food, I plan to visit several area restaurants over this weekend. I have to admit that I'm thinking about returning to Besa's to try out some of the delicious pizza I saw during my visit. Excellent experience! I'll definitely be back.

The area gave a vibe of like elegance, nice restaurant and everything but the food just did not match on point. Everything was very mediocre. Kind of sad. I mean this was the lunchtime so I don't know. Maybe dinner is different but yeah, I will not be going back to this place. There are way better Italian restaurants in Garland and DFW area but we wanted to try this one. I think what needs to be improved. In my opinion is that appetizer baby figure something out because everything was store-bought. You could tell you could taste it. Everything came out of a package. I'm not gonna lie the meatballs I had tasted like the meatballs, my mom used to buy from Walmart from the bag and I was like these taste familiar and it clicked in my mind so maybe making stuff and everything and all that stuff from scratch

The restaurant has a more upscale feel without being stuffy, with a warm ambiance, attentive service, and plenty of nearby parking, which makes the whole experience easy and enjoyable. They offer kid-sized pasta options but surprisingly no kid-sized pizza at a pizza restaurant. It would be nice to have a smaller pizza option for little ones. Otherwise, a wonderful experience and definitely a place I'd return to.

The ambiance was very pleasant, with chandelier lighting. The place was spotlessly clean. While the music was easy listening, it did not really match an Itlalian restaurant, but I won't criticize them on that. For Dinner we ordered a Tortillini Alfredo and a Chicken Parmigiano. Both were freshly prepared and executed perfectly. I honestly intended on eating only half of my Chicken Parmigiano, but it was so good I could not stop myself from eating it. The rolls served with it were pretty amazing as well! My only concern is that on a Saturday night at 7:30 we were one of only 4 tables in the place.
