So Sunday lunch after church and my daughter wanted to try a new Italian restaurant near our church. So if we go to the Tuscany Italian bistro which literally was down the street. Not really sure what to expect because we walked into an empty restaurant. Not only was it empty, but the gentleman who was working was the host, server, and Cook. We looked around and observed that most likely this particular restaurant does more business in the evening than during the day. I will say this is a hidden gem behind the 711. We placed our order and he brought out the most fabulous rolls, I think I have ever had in an Italian restaurant. They are not garlic rolls or buns just hot, fresh and amazing! I could've just had that for lunch. My husband and I ordered the tour of Italy to split and my daughter ordered the shrimp fettuccine. He brought us out Caesar salads, which I will be honest and tell you that the Caesar dressing was watery and zero flavor. It made me a little nervous about the meal. However, once we received the food, we realized the only dud on that table was the Caesar dressing. All the food is flavorful and hot like it just came out of the oven. A sweet bistro ran by Albanian owners, they offer halal chicken and veal to customers upon request. They serve traditional Italian cuisine, meaning simple dishes, fresh ingredients and lots of carbs. You could definitely take a date here and it certainly wouldn't hurt to take the parents either. Service here is family restaurant good, where you can tell everyone working there is a cohesive team. One shout to the kitchen and they've already got your appetizers on the way, and they know exactly what can and cannot be adjusted for each dish. It's table service with a real smile. Whether you are with friends or family, they'll treat you right. Just a heads up for all my halal eaters, as much as they've told me, stuff like their Vodka sauce doesn't actually have alcohol in it, so be less wary. They have all the classic options that a non-halal Italian restaurant would have, and they do it well. My favorites are the Tour of Italy which gives you their 3 best sellers on one plate, and their Chef's Special which gives you both Chicken & Shrimp on one plate. There's nothing I haven't enjoyed here. Being the only proper halal Italian option this side of Dallas, there's not really much competition standing in their way. With that being side, they maintain a solid customer base of Muslim and non-muslims alike which should give you an idea of their quality. I ordered a pepperoni calzone for delivery, and it came on time and was wrapped protectively. The calzone was big, the perfect size for people with big appetites (like me). We had lunch & ordered the trio pasta & my friend ordered the spaghetti with meatballs. Where our food was hot, it took nearly 40 minutes to arrive to our table. The trio was supposed to be a sample of lasagna, baked manicotti & cannelloni, but was covered with marinara, all in one dish. Mostly cheese, too greasy, you couldn't tell which, was which. It was like a really bad Italian TV dinner. My friend's dish was lacking favor & had a funky taste. Meh. Ok, the salad...ice berg lettuce with a thin slice of tomato, waxy mozzarella (cheap!) cheese. Mine came with house vinaigrette which was red & tasted like it had ketchup in it. My friend ordered ranch which tasted like mayo with dried italian seasoning. Yuck!!!!! The reason for 1 Star, the bread was deliciousness! And we got charged for a beverage we didn't order, service was so slow we had to go pay out at the counter. The delivery was decent enough, but there is a question in their quality of food. The pizza arrived lukewarm, to the point of being a tad tough to break the cheese along the slice part. For some reason the pizza also had a slight fish oil taste? Unfortunate enough but the tiramisu i ordered was partially frozen which was after the delivery was completed so very unusual. My experience has been less than par, but I hope those who have and will try it out enjoy. Personally I have the left overs and frankly I am not feeling this good at at. It will be trashed. Worst food I've had in a while! Brushetta tasted like fish. The salad was lettuce and shredded cheese with 1/2 of 1 slice of tomato. I'm not sure what the meat sauce was, but it wasn't Italian. My husband ordered the pasta trio. It came out in a bowl covered with sauce and cheese. The items were hidden and you couldn't see any of the food. Apparently Friday's are karaoke Fridays when I got there. Place was a little empty walking in. Maybe I got there before the rush. They have pastas. Soups. Salads. Pizzas. And Appetizers. My spaghetti and meatballs dish came with bread, and salad. Which they forgot the dressing too. The pasta dish I got was pretty big. For $15 this better be a big dish. It tasted pretty good. Taste like it could use more of something. More flavor. The salad was weak. They put one slice of tomato in there and a pinch of cheese. The staff was friendly. Menu was easy to read. Ok so my daughter and I found a little Italian restaurant in Richardson. Nice and clean first off. We were grated right away when we walked in. Always a plus. We have been here at least a dozen times. The food is delicious, it's never crowded, and the service is friendly. So when we decided to order takeout from them, we did not anticipate any problems. I'm not sure how to say this without sounding too prissy, but walking into the restaurant to pick up my order was a fairly scary experience. There was nobody in the dining Room, and I'm not even sure it was open, but the guys behind the service counter were not wearing masks. They were not wearing gloves. They were not social distancing. It Gave me heebie jeebies. I just I'm not sure what you're supposed to do in that situation where you're feeling uncomfortable because the help is not following the CDC guidelines. I took our food and left. But when I got home and told my family what was happening at the restaurant we all were feeling like maybe we should not eat the food. In the long run, we ate. Food selection and pricing is good. Not overpriced for your average Italian restaurant. The staff and owners are lovely. Very attentive and kind. I got the cheese ravioli and it was average I'd say. The serving and salad serving was a decent size and quite filling, though. Interior is a little dated. Very casual eatery. Beautiful Italian murals painted on the walls. Tables and floors were kept clean and wiped down. It's BYOB but there is a 7/11 within walking distance so go grab a bottle of wine before going in! This spot is close to my house and it has been a go to spot for me and my wife when we want a good chicken Cesar salad! The dressing taste different than any other Cesar salad I've had. We really like it! I prefer eating in the restaurant and it's never too busy when I'm there. I like the owners and the service is always good. It's a quiet place to grab dinner and the lights are dim. They have a grand piano and sometimes someone playing. I have tried their alfredo sauce and garlic cheese bread and really enjoyed that. I have never ate their pasta so I can't review on that and though I like their pizza it's not my first choice but that doesn't mean it doesn't taste good... it's good just not my favorite pizza place. I would recommend that it's worth trying out in the area if you want a good healthy chicken Cesar salad. Sometimes we take the Cesar salad to go but usually I wait / call it in and pick it up myself! It is in the name Folks. If you want close to as authentic Tuscan food you can find in Texas, this is it. Went on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Plenty of space and an uber friendly server. She was great. Oh my God garlic and buttered and very fresh. Simply one of the best. I still think of them days later. I moved on from those two delights to the all the works Spaghetti plate. Now if you love traditional tomato based taste sauce as I do, your in for a treat. Pasta, meatball, sausage and mushrooms blended in a wonderful tomato based sauce. If they sugar it up I didn't taste. Just tomato and the good stuff. If you love fennel like I do yum yum. It's in the sausage. After all that I spotted a young father with two kids inside enjoying a deep dish Pizza. Well I ordered one to go with pepperoni and onions. It is very cheesy and the dough tasted awesome loved the soft crust. Only thing I would say is they needed more pepperoni and onions on it. But is minor as compared to the taste. Great, comfortable atmosphere. I just tried this restaurant on a whim and was pleasantly surprised! Most restaurants have greatly reduced their menu due to Covid. I was surprised to see that Tuscany Bistro still had a full force menu. Good food too. The only surprise was that it is BYO. Ultimately this is a plus. So, on Mondays there's this thing we call "second dinner." I've brought home a reasonable amount of food for dinner. And then about 9 p.m. there's a knock at the door and my friend says, "I may or may not have ordered more food." This happens more than I want to admit. Second dinner this Monday was meatballs, Italian sausage, cheesecake, and Limoncello Mascarpone cake. It was delicious. I cannot speak to service or atmosphere because we had the food delivered, but I can speak to portion size and taste. The bread is a garlic butter roll and is soft and fluffy and melts in your mouth. I would be happy to have bread and sauce alone. The sauce is fresh tasting. The meatball had a good balance of meat and filler. If you get meatballs that are too dense with meat they lack the flavors carried by the breadcrumbs. And the Limoncello cake was amazing. It's like a lemon ice box pie, lemon cake, creamcheese icing, and bottle of Limoncello had a weird love child. I cannot wait to go there in person. Also, I looked over the menu and they have an American Italian menu, meaning the meats and pastas are combined in one dish AND they have Alfredo. We ordered an x large special pizza and jalapeño poppers. We ordered Ranch with the poppers and received marinara. I ate 1 popper and my boyfriend ate 1 popper - obviously frozen poppers (of course, it's a pizza shop) but I'd rather eat Chicken Express poppers. We came in close to closing and they still treated us great and like they were in no hurry at all. Our waiter helped me pick a spicy chicken in a creamy sauce with spaghetti that was delicious. We also got warm, yummy bread and an awesome salad. Why was it awesome you ask? Well the house dressing was so good. They also used lots of cheese and fresh veggies.
