Came here with my friend to enjoy happy hour. Pit & Pub is a cool comfy local spot right here off South Salisbury blvd near the University. Atmosphere: Kinda like if a rodeo and a sports bar had a baby. The drinks were pretty good. Gary the bartender was awesome and kept the drinks flowing! He's a great guy and he made me feel right at home. Pit is a cheers kinda joint that makes you feel comfortable when you come. Definitely will come back! I hate when I forget to finish a review! We stopped in Salisbury to visit on of my favorite college kids on our way to Ocean City but decided to not eat at this place. However, one of the staff at our hotel said that it was good. So, I checked it out a month later (back in December 2019). Suspicious that the restaurant didn't have the faintest smell of smoke or meat, I asked if I could see the kitchen--the smoker in particular. The waitress thought it was a strange request but she let me peek my head in. They had an electric smoker: it maintains the heat electronically and produces smoke from wood chips on a heater. That electric smoker was nowhere near sufficient to produce a good smoked meat flavor. I mean, if you're going to call yourself a "Pit", you really need a deep pit-smoked flavor. It doesn't matter what I ordered because my and my two travel companions' orders were so disappointing. Until I went to Salisbury Pit & Pub, I had not been so disappointed by Barbecue in my life. read more

Who is the mood for "Home Style cooking" By home style I mean, that awkward aunt who couldn't cook, but was nice so you always told her to bring a dish to dinner. Starters: Bacon & Cheese fries. Frozen Fries with mild cheddar cheese on top with left over bacon crumbles. 1-10, 1.2 on the appetizer. Entree: Carolina Style Pork. They advertise "Smoked" well I didn't see a smoke stack out back, or smoke coming from any where. The closest that pork got to smoked was the cook's breath after he finished his Newports. Came with two sides, we got Mac&Cheese and Mashed Potatoes. Mac & Cheese were butter noodles with some cheese on top. Mashed Potatoes were decent. 1-10 2.8 on entree. Overall don't waster your time, this is a lame excuse for BBQ. read more

My husband and I went in the other night to watch the game and we were very happy with our experience. We were greeted by friendly staff and the service was quick. We tried the honey old bay wings and they were delicious! The perfect blend of sweet with a little spice. The brisket balls were also flavorful and had a pleasant kick from the jalapeño. Even the fries were perfectly crispy. After this trip, we will definitely be back! read more

This review is for the Dockside Pit and Pub which isn't on yelp yet. Visited on august 25th and we were very pleased. Great wait staff, beautiful views of the little marina and excellent food. Husband had Carolina barbecue and I had soft shell crab tacos. Both were very good, with bonus points for the soft shell creativity! Also had huge bacon wrapped scallops that were really good. Will be back and recommend to any looking for a laid back experience with really good food. read more

Hands down best bbq around. Great atmosphere & good specials. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to dine. My favorite are the honey old bay wings, beef brisket, & pulled pork. They have won contests in the past for their wings and are recognized frequently for their smoked meats. You can tell they get the high quality meats! They also do a great job catering events (ask for the fried chicken). The manager was very helpful in getting the right amount & menu together for my event. read more

Ocean City prices so a bit expensive for Salisbury. Food was good and beer was tasty cold. Place is clean and well appointed. Sitting at the bar on a Sunday afternoon, there was a lot of foul-mouthed conversation from younger patrons. I can use the "F" word myself, but not out in a public establishment. Next time we will choose a booth or sit in dining room area. read more

Stopped in here and had some pulled pork ribs and some sides. Ribs were very tender but fatty. Taste was OK. Baked beans were straight out of the can. This is a as friendly neighborhood bar with mediocre food. Service was good. read more

We came in for pick up. The ribs fell off the bone. We got the mac n cheese, cucumber salad, cornbread, and fries. The chicken was good but for me the stars were the ribs and the cornbread. The cornbread was not dry at all. The first piece I ate without butter and it really didnt need it. But the next piece i added butter to . . . Wow! This is great cornbread! read more

This was our first time trying this Pub. Three total in party. Came to get the AYCE Ribs & Shrimp. We arrived around 7:25pm. Our drink order was not taken until 7:45pm. I asked the server if she was the only server working to which she said "yes." For a Saturday night the business was woefully understaffed. I don't know how many employees were in the kitchen but there was at least one. Our server was taking care of a full bar and two rooms. Approximately 25-30+ patrons in all. We had to wait about 30 minutes to get our food. The server was apologetic and did check a couple times to see if we needed refills in between everything else she was doing. The ribs were very good and were fall off the bone tender. The shrimp, although large, were undercooked and lacked the basic spices of Old Bay or J O's. Two of us wanted to get another round of ribs but the server forgot to put the order in. At this point, we were getting a bit frustrated and decided to call it a night. We joked that this was a ploy to get customers in and because of the lack of service the customer(s) would leave and not be able to take advantage of the AYCE. I do like giving the local eateries a try. In this case I doubt very much that we will return. The two bright spots were the ribs and the server who was making every attempt to please all. That is the reason for the two stars, otherwise it would be one star. read more

I am not sure how Pit & Pub can advertise "Smoked". We ordered, Smoked Meatloaf Dinner, Smoked Brisket Dinner, and North Carolina Style BBQ Dinner. Meatloaf had no smoked flavor at all, Brisket was similar to a Pot Roast that had been cooked in the oven, and the North Carolina BBQ was similar to going out of the State of Maryland to order a Maryland style Crab Cake, it was not North Carolina BBQ, not even close. This was our first time purchasing food here and will be the last. I will say, the sides were not bad, mac and cheese, turnip greens and BBQ baked beans. read more

Went to Pit & Pub today for lunch. Sooo disappointed. We ordered "straight from the smoker" pulled pork sandwich and beef brisket sandwich with cole slaw, fries and smoked wings. First and foremost nothing was smoked. The "smoked" wings were fried. They taste fine but if it says smoked is should be. The pork and brisket were tender, but they just taste like roast pork and roast beef. My bun was soggy and my husband's bun was totally burnt. Everything was just Meh and definitely not worth the price. Just skip them you can make it yourself just as good or better. read more
