This was our first time here and went because it had 5 stars. Upon arrival we were not greeted and even after asking where we should wait to be seated, we were ignored by, not one but 3 employees! We waited over an hour for our food and when asked their response was "we're busy" but there were several families who arrived after us and were served before us. This place is so quaint and makes you feel like your at a bed and breakfast. The inside isn't so big but the presence of the food makes up for it. We had the hash brown breakfast and the crispy French toast breakfast. Both came with eggs. The French toast came with bacon or sausage, and eggs and let's just say this French toast is in my top 5. It's really crispy, a little chewy and a subtle sweet that isn't over powering. The bacon was perfectly crispy, the hash browns were nicely toasted with that nice brown crisp and the biscuits and gravy is one of the best we've ever had. Very creamy, not too milky, perfect ratio of sausage to gravy and ot was nice and savory. Def a hidden gem here in Tulare. When I visit this place again I will most def patronize this business. The line was a little backed up and the manager or owner walked in , took her jacket off and quickly came and busted tables and got the line down. A very pleasant experience and it shows that this small restaurant is very family friendly and they care about their customers and value your dollar being spent. I've always had a great experience here. Great diner. Great customer service. The food was hot and fresh, they don't let it sit around before bringing it out. I regret not having taken more photos of the food to post. I ordered the chicken fried steak with hash browns and eggs, it was tasty. My son (pictured) got the cheeseburger meal, which he said was amazing. The coffee was really good too and they were quick with refills on both water and coffee, I didn't even have to ask. Reading these reviews was interesting because my family and I experienced a welcome and friendly service. Another good thing was that their outdoor accommodations (cause coVid) was comfortable with plenty of shade and fans to keep the flies away. We visited Salles Café while we were in town for a wedding. The food was basic diner breakfast and was good enough for the occasion. The main drawback to the food was the Portuguese potatoes. They were described by the server as baked potatoes in a sauce but in reality they were boiled potatoes and the "sauce" was just seasoning in a ton of oil. Would recommend not upgrading to the Portuguese potatoes but would return for the basic breakfast fare if we are in this area again. read more

Went here on a Saturday for breakfast. The place is clearly popular with local families, stayed pretty busy but it is a large place, and they seated us right away. The special was red chilaquiles with beans and rice, which I ordered; my wife ordered hash browns, and between the two we had a very filling breakfast. I quite liked the chilaquiles as well as the rice and beans, and recommend them: I was told they are very popular but are only available every other weekend, so if that's what you're interested in you may call ahead to see when they are available. Service was very friendly, coffee was good, and the place was very homey. A little off the beaten track, but well worth a visit. read more

This was my families second time coming to this restaurant. The first time we sat at the counter but the second time we had our children so we sat at a table. After we were seated, we waited 15 minutes for our waitress to take our order. Our food came out quickly and it was great. Our food was brought to us and that was the last time our waitress had visited our table. We needed ranch and our water refilled and not once did our waitress check on us. We ate for about 30 minutes and we continuously saw our waitress text and put her phone under the counter. We waited for our check and never received it so I went to the register and asked to just pay there because we have yet to receive our check. That will be the last time we return. read more

Excellent place for breakfast! Five stars are hard to come by for me but this place would be a four and a half if I could give it. We ordered quite a variety of food and it was all good. Very impressed with how they cooked the eggs. My daughter likes it over hard and I like it over easy and we both got what we wanted. The pancake was fluffy, light, and big! The bacon was crisp and thick. The corned beef hash was unfortunately out of a can but was still delicious. The home fries were fresh sliced potatoes and not from a bag. The burrito came out very delicious made with fresh ingredients packed with flavor I had a few bites of the home fries and they were very flavorful as well. Customer service was great my family and I were greeted immediately and felt comfortable right away.
