It wasn't bad, it was super packed so it did take almost an hour to get our food. The waitress was so busy we weren't offer refills, so we ate most of our food without anything to drink. It's a small restaurant so it felt super tight, you can hear everyone conversation. The food, was ok. I did order the biscuit and gravy and did not like it. Thats usually my go to everywhere I go but it just wasn't it. The country potatoes are just potatoes fried. They were good tho. Over all I tried and probably would not return. The price is great tho, so if you're just looking for super inexpensive and have the time, I'd say give it a try.

Chicken fried steak at Salles! Absolutely amazing!

We had not been here in a long time. I told my wife today idk why we don't come here more often. Bcz this place has amazing food. Today we were on our way to Bakersfield for the March Meet Drag Race. I remembered we ate here years ago and thought we would check it out again. I was surprised we got a seat right away. Which was nice bcz I really wanted to get to Bakersfield. But I was just surprised because it's a Saturday morning and this place is pretty popular. The young lady ask what we want to drink and then brought us our coffee. Another young last came and took our order. I decided on the chicken fried steak with hash browns and scrambled eggs. My wife just wanted a pancake with an egg with bacon. While we waited we checked out the decor of the restaurant. It's a typical restaurant that serves the ag community. It has counter seating that wraps around where the workers are and they have a larger room for more guests. Cozy but nothing fancy. Our food arrived and it looked great. I like to try everybody's chicken fried steak. Bcz not everyone makes it good. I can tell you Salles has a great chicken fried steak breakfast! This breakfast was delicious. Lucky for me my wife couldn't finish her pancake and bacon. So me being the loving husband I am. I took one for the team and finished it for her. The pancake and bacon were equally delicious. The establishment is clean and the service is excellent. We will definitely be coming back

In all the years of being in Tulare Co, I decided to try a local cafe that has deep roots in Tulare. Salles Cafe did not disappoint. From the outside it looks like a dive not too fancy but don't let that fool you. Theres great parking in the back and a nice patio area. When you walk inside you'll be surprised on how big, warm and inviting this place appears. i choose to sit at the counter since there is plenty of counter space and I had a good view of all the patrons in the establishment. This place isn't really fancy and you can tell this place has a lot of regulars from local farmers retirees and business owners in the area. I had an appointment in Tulare so I decided to stop by for breakfast and I was really surprised that they offered mimosas, so why not this #YelpEliter loves champagne almost any day of the week. Excellent service & everything is on the counter for easy access. Condiments, hot sauce, sugar, S&P all on a lazy Susan. No need to bug your server Q5min. I was greeted w/ water & coffee. Vanilla creamer on hand so that's a plus. I ordered a waffle breakfast topped w/ strawberries w/ 2 eggs poached & 2 sausage links. My server delivered my breakfast just the way I like it w/o even asking. Got my waffle first since my eggs take a little bit longer to cook. My eggs were cooked to perfection & so was my sausage. It was a great day to stop by this place for breakfast. You must try this place if you're in the area.

Very decent food. This is a good place to stop if you're passing through and looking for good food at a decent price. We ordered the meat lovers omelet, which came with country potatoes and biscuits and gravy. The biscuits and gravy were my favorite thing. Plenty of food! We also ordered the open face hot turkey sandwich. This was very salty, but still good. I also thoroughly enjoyed the hot chocolate with whipped cream.

Quaint little brunch spot with great biscuits and gravy, really crunchy tasty home fries, and scrumptious buttermilk pancakes that are generously-sized! Some of the most reasonable prices we've encountered on our travels through cali these days. Nice service, clean interior and well-kept exterior.

Careful, it's just quietly sitting here and you could miss it!

The service was wonderful, the owner sat with us a few minutes since it was our first time dining there. She explained menu items and her philosophy on helping out her local community. Nice table and chairs with linen napkins. A small play area for kids (!) in the part of the restaurant that looks like it serves fresh made pasties and coffees. All fresh ingredients are used along with local food sourced by the community, she used the example of the fresh local pecans and walnuts used in the salads. Fresh french butter and cheeses. We had a Kir Royale to add to our beautiful lunch. I felt like I was back in France for lunch! We had a beautiful grilled salmon salad, the traditional french sandwich- Le Parisien, a Parisien omelet , also with a side of french fries and the well known Lyonnaise potatoes. We were all very pleased and happy with our meals. Each server was very helpful and kind . We brought home fresh croissants and the chocolate filled croissant. So delicious. We will return for crepes and many more items we were not able to try. It's worth the drive to Tulare. Only open until 2:00 PM. They do have a special dinner that you need to book in advance and it sells out, this is done about once a month.

We started by sharing the wedge salad. I am a blue cheese girl, and this blue cheese was BLUE CHEESE. Rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I could have happily made a meal out of that alone. We also ordered the calamari, which came with two dipping sauces. One was a sweet and sour-style nuoc cham sauce that was incredible. The other was a fresh, flavorful tartar sauce. The calamari itself was prepared perfectly--light, crispy, not oily at all, and cooked just right. For dinner, I had the pistachio-crusted salmon over vegetable quinoa. The salmon was excellent. The quinoa was good, but probably just not my personal style. My husband ordered the pork chop with polenta, and wow--both were fantastic. That polenta was especially memorable. We sat at a table in the bar area (that's our vibe), and we had the pleasure of being served by Orlando, a newer bartender. He was outstanding. From the moment we sat down, we felt welcomed and genuinely taken care of. He introduced us to a mezcal that complemented our meals perfectly and was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. Top-notch customer service. This isn't an inexpensive everyday dinner spot, but the quality of the food, drinks, and service made it absolutely worth it. We had a fantastic experience and will definitely be back. If you haven't been to Braised lately, go check it out--and if you're lucky enough to have Orlando take care of you, you're in for a great evening.
