This is a new spot in Tulare, CA. I was wanted to try it and I finally did. They have A LOT of options to choose from (different phos, plates, and appetizers) which is not bad but I felt a little overwhelmed. Compared to other Pho places, there menu had a lot going on. If you know the type of meats and all that extra stuff then maybe you will like it. I love a simple, straight to the point MENU. Anyways, after we finally got what we usually enjoy, beef pho & fried rice, we got to taste the food. Its was delicious. Pho was nothing special. Tastes like any average pho. Came to eat here with the family after hiking in Sequoia. We got the pho #2 and a vermicelli bowl. The pho broth was delicious and authentic- perfect healing soup after a hike. So happy I found Pho Family, the best food I have had over the last few days while here on Business. I was a little worried, I get Pho in Los Angeles all the time, hoped this would be as good and happily it was. Food was so fresh, full of flavor and so many veggies, tasty and a more healthy option. The prices are very reasonable as well. The service here is fast, the food also comes out very fast. I guess the one thing you should know is when you are done, they don't bring you a bill right away. If you are done and ready, go up to the register and tell them your table number. That way you are not waiting around. The restaurant itself is pretty simple, open, bright with lots of seating. It was very clean as well. As soon as people were finished they were there cleaning up the tables getting it ready for the next customer. I ended up getting the family combo vermicelli. It comes with vermicelli noodles of course, tons of fresh veggies, a couple spring rolls, grilled shrimp, bbq pork and fish sauce to pour over. Add your spices and hoisin sauce to your liking. I recommend this dish, I wish I could have tried one of their Bahn Mi sandwiches or some of their actual Pho, but I am sure it is excellent. The service is great, and I actually like the location too. I ordered the pho soup with cooked brisket and steak, and my mom ordered the steak, with some shrimp spring rolls. The lettuce in the shrimp was very wilted, and the rolls were really dry, thankfully the sauce was delicious. The soup was full of tendon, instead of meat, and there was no steak to be found...like anywhere, and it smelled off. The steak soup was full of thinly sliced steak, and it was delicious. I haven't given up on this place, there is still a few more things I really want try. So I will definitely be back!! read more

I've had the garlic noodles, the noodles themselves were good not super flavorful but the veggies and tofu were, I wish I had some chili crunch to add to the noodles. I was excited for the grand opening of this restaurant especially for Tulare given there's no other Vietnamese restaurant. I was super disappointed. We ordered the family pho, pork and shrimp spring rolls. We even did the family appetizers. The thing that was wrapped in banana leaves tasted old and was over cooked because the flour was super hard, you could barely chew on it. The pho had very little meat and the broth was bland. Our pho broth came warm and I was going to ask them to make me a new bowl. But decided not to. Who wants warm broth? The shrimp spring rolls were not wrapped tightly so didn't look appetizing and didn't care for the taste. Their pork roll was better. We also ordered the sandwich. That was the only thing we enjoyed along with their Vietnamese ice coffee. The service was terrible. We were the only customers there besides 4 other customers and the employees about 8 of them were all sitting together in a corner. I walked passed the kitchen to use the bathroom and I can see a lot of trash/food/paper etc on the ground in the kitchen. I was surprised to see so many stuff in plain sight on the kitchen floor and their workers just sitting in the corner. We had to wait a good while before someone even acknowledged us and we never got our extra bowl we asked for. We even gave them a second try and we're sadly disappointed. We never got refills on our water. We had to flag someone down the first time. It was so unprofessional. We could hear them arguing in their native tongue. We left and there was no thank you have a good night, nothing. I understand it's a family business but they need to hire actual real employees that will actually do their job and help their business succeed. Definitely will not return. Food overall was terrible and the service was the worse. They're so unprofessional. They were not welcoming or friendly. read more

We ate here on Easter day and the food was honestly pretty good, service was nice enough, but as my sister was eating her stuff, she found a black rice shaped thing in her soup after she put it on the plate I inspected it and I saw a very visible leg on it. It was definitely an insect, could've been a roach. As we brought it to their attention, the lady simply picked it up, smashed it in her hands before even Looking at the literal leg that was poking out of the body. She said that it was part of the toppings. I will not be coming here again, and we also did not get the soup written off the bill or at least discounted so I rarely leave reviews but when I do, it's because I found a literal insect in my food and you guys should know. read more

Stopped by for the first time to try the pho, and all we can say is WOW! Easily the best pho we've had. The medium bowl was the perfect portion. We also ordered the Thai tea and Vietnamese coffee -- both are a must try! The restaurant was very clean, service was super fast, and all the staff were happy and professional. I have tried their Thai teas and all are perfect, garlic noodles are just right, rolls are crispy and savory, and their pho always is the most delicious broth, as well their portions are big. Came in about 5:30pm on a Saturday. They have plenty of seating, both tables and booths. The service was pleasant and quick to respond. I ordered the Bahn Mi sandwich and the chicken with garlic noodles. My wife had the chicken Pho. My sandwich was very good. The garlic noodles were a little dry and overcooked. What went well: the spring rolls and the pho seafood soup tasted great! What went bad: I'm Gluten intolerant so there was gluten in the peanut sauce and possibly the fish balls. I forgot that peanut sauce has soy sauce which is made with wheat. If you don't have Gluten issues, you should be ok to eat it. read more
