Salloos located in Knightsbridge has been serving food for over 30 years. Established at a time when asian food was not so popular in England their food was over priced, but that has changed over the years. The restaurant is completely Pakistani in cooking and style of food it serves. It's decor is very old world colonial style with twinkling shining chandeliers, geometrical grills, and the tenfold table linen gives it a heavy Raj Vibe. The menu has all the basic dishes you would expect. I had the tandoori chops which were succulent having been steeped in a garlic yoghurt sauce-they had just the right amount of pinkness and were deliciously smoky. The chicken tikka pieces punctuated by seared peppers on a long skewer were tasty-accompanied with a pleasent ginger coating. The aromatic cardomom scented pilau was the best because it was fluffly in texture and the spice was subtle. I think what was disappointing were the oversized koftas cooked in an insipid tomatoe sauce. In my opinion if eating there for the first time then stick to the meat grills and if you are vegetarian then eat somewhere else.

The chicken kabobs and tandoori lamb chops are out of this world! Worth a visit every time I am in London.

The chicken Karahi is mindblowingly good here. This is one of the hidden gems of London. If you go to London you must go here to eat.

They have done an impressive job on the remodel updating it with a bright and clean interior tastefully decorated and well equipped. Two large screen TV's play Bollywood music videos and sporting events. When you enter there is a small kebab shop and takeaway, and you enter through the second set of doors to the dining room. The food is amazing! A dazzling array of choices and some special items. We ordered Karahi Fish, Karahi Methi Gosht, Tarka Daal and a whole tandoori chicken. This was more than enough food for four and we were all very happy to try so many tasty items. First the fish was perfectly prepared and delicately spiced. It had a great texture and wasn't "swimming" in sauce. The lamb curry was ordered spicy and the chef actually came to ask us how spicy we actually wanted it, so we explained EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA hot.. he laughed and asked if we were sure and we said we were. He delivered! It was a spicy inferno without being overpowering. The daal was very nice but the highlight was the Tandoori chicken.. it was the most flavorful one we had tried in a long time and came out perfectly moist and juicy and oozing with flavour, and at 7 quid it was quite a deal as well. We also noted on the menu the chefs special.. a WHOLE LEG OF LAMB! We vowed a night of hedonism and drinking accompanied by a lamb feast. We followed through the following week and we were rewarded for our determination with a stunning piece of culinary magic. The leg of lamb was so tender and flavourful that we decided to make it a monthly ritual.. but be forewarned you have to order it 24 hours in advance.. so think ahead! The Lahore Masala House is a welcome addition to the Kentish Town landscape.. they have great lunch deals and they also stay up late for those leaving the locals or the Forum.

Absolutely delicious dinner!…read more We made reservations online about 2 months ago. 5:15 dinner worked well for us since we had a show at 7. We checked in on the lady with the tablet on the right side of the entrance. The left side is for walk ins. Super long line even at 5pm. But they were handing out small glasses of chai and something else. Anyway, the reservation line is short and they sat us right away. We wished we could have sat at the patio - it's covered. We didn't see that until we were already drinking. Well, next time! The ambiance - beautiful spot with lots and lots of tables. Every single one of them was taken. Tons of staff! They take good care of you here. Patrons vary, from dates to family dinners - the whole gamet! Come one, come all! The drinks came out right away. Dishoom IPA and chai. Beer came with a frosted glass. The chai was delicious! The food was amazing! Goan monkfish curry Ruby chicken Saffron cauliflower Garlic naan Basmati rice Everything was superb!
