Tired of being called nicknames such as "bozo the clown" and "sideshow bob" I finally overcame my fear of hairstylists (the story behind this fear involves an extremely tall transvestite and an unsolicited sensual massage) and came in to see the legendary Sarah Rose. I gave her free rein to do anything to my hair she wanted (my only stiplulation was no emo combover) and she gave me the best haircut in years while being extremely easy to talk to (and look at). I walked out of there a new man and so far my life has never been the same. Since getting my haircut by Sarah Rose I am no longer called any names, recieve compliments daily, met the love of my life, and I've even recieved a promotion at work. Profiles is a clean, classy salon that's centrally located near Ala Moana. In the waiting area, there are many magazines to peruse and the stylists make sure that you have been helped. You can drink a cup of coffee or tea while waiting. My stylist, Tiffany is approachable, friendly, down-to-earth, and helpful! She asks me what I want to do with my hair when I first arrive, does a fabulous job of highlighting and cutting my hair, and checks at the end to ensure all is OK. I've purchased hair products she has recommended and loved them. I never feel rushed! Profiles website is easy to navigate and each individual stylist's picture links to a personalized page explaining their specialties, experience, and prices. Awesome awesome awesome!!! The first second I walked in I just loved the place. I was welcomed with a warm "Hello" and was offered something to drink right away. They had many choices too, not just water :). The salon is super nice. Very clean and organized. I only had to wait 3 minutes until Sarah came up to me and introduced herself. Super pretty lady with a great personality. She asked what I wanted to do with my hair and seriously made everything happened to the "T". The color and cut turned out perfect. I am a huge freak when it comes to my bangs and how I want them cut and styled and she made that turn out perfect too. My older stylist always made it too shot or didn't angle it right but not Sarah. I also noticed that she just just finished working on a lady who had black dyed hair and turned it into light brown with 2 colored toned highlights. For someone to turn black dyed hair into something super nice and healthy looking is super talented which she is :). I hightly recommend Sarah Rose for any hair cut, style, and makeup. The one & only Sarah Rose has returned! I followed her at Nueve & now she's back. Although I'm not very fond of finding parking back here, there was no way I would look for a trusted hairdresser, preferably one who knew how I wanted my hair done in a certain way. I've been seeing Sarah Rose since I arrived here from Washington State and let me tell you, finding a hairdresser is like the stress of driving in traffic coming from Westside to Downtown at 7:00 A.M. I've always been very specific on what I want with my hair and most of the time Sarah already knows how to style it or offer advise on what would make it less "dull" or make it look "fuller". She gets pretty busy and her schedule can be full and Im lucky to get a spot with her. Sarah specializes on special occasion (wedding) by appointment and makeup as well. She makes your time worthwhile and provides feedback on what type of shampoo or conditioner to use. She even has tips on places for happy hour well at least that's what I would ask whenever I come by. Please see her and please make an appointment as she gets booked fast. read more

I've been seeing Tiffany for years and always feel like a million bucks after I leave. It's obvious that she loves what she does and is very talented too. When my stylist decided to move to a new salon, I was surprised she would leave a busy, well established salon, but I can see why she did. Profiles has a nice vibe; it is not pretentious but feels high end. The stylists are friendly, professional, and highly skilled. I always look forward to seeing my stylist, Tiffany, who has been cutting my hair for years and now also does my Mother's. Besides cut and color, she does updos and make-up too. i just have to give a shout out to erin who is a fabulous stylist! no one has ever styled my hair in a way that has pleased me more! i have tried many a stylist (some way more expensive and some way less) but no one has compared to her. i've been to erin about three times now and every time has been something different that i've asked her to do and she has met and completely surpassed my expectations each time! she is always polite and completely willing to do what i want her to do. you know how some stylists won't or try to talk you out of doing what you want, erin doesn't do that. instead she is open and willing to give you a whole new look if you want or preserve the style that you already have. for example, i used to only want straight layers that curved towards the front and erin did just that. but lately i've been wanting to work with the natural wave in my hair and rock something more contemporary with waves and layers flipped out towards the back and erin did just that! the prices are reasonable (erin charges $50 for women and the most expensive for the other stylists is around $65, and they have a website where you can look up all their profiles and pricing) and the parking is easy (just park at ala moana). i would highly recommend trying profiles if you are unsatisfied with your current stylist. read more
