Marie is such a talented lash artist, she does beautiful work. I've been seeing Marie for lashes for almost 4 years now. I followed her to the super cute Salon Bloom when she left Platinum Lashes because she is THAT great! She's a sweetheart and our appointments just fly by. Marie found the right length and curl so my lashes always look great. I get tons of compliments and my lashes feel so soft and fluffy and comfortable. I feel like I don't need any other makeup now. Initially I was worried extensions would damage natural lashes but I feel like my lashes (and eyes themselves) are actually in better condition now and after this many years of extensions I would know. I think they all around feel better because I'm not scrubbing mascara off anymore or rubbing itchy mascara into my eyes! I could not go back to mascara! read more

This review is for Laurel! You know the rad check with blue streaks in her hair. I came with a groupon for the cut, color and condition. As soon as we started her energy was contagious. It's the best when you go to a stylist that actually wants to perform a great service on you and doesn't treat you any differently when you use a groupon. As Laural said, my haircut will be a walking advertisement for her work. I actually went from my balayaged tired hair to back to black. For my cut I had long flat hair, to which she added some layers and brought life back into it. As a person with naturally curly hair, I get nervous with layers but her cut provided long layers that compliments my natural curls for days I decide not to straighten it. My overall experience was great, I'm actually planning on seeing her again for styling my hair for a wedding I'm going to be apart of. I called in to get my hair done last minute and I was scheduled an appointment with Julie. I have to say from the very beginning, the receptionist was very welcoming and Julie, the stylist with gorgeous pink hair, was downright awesome. Normally when I speak with stylists I have a hard time getting the stylist to understand what I really want and my hair usually comes out decent but not what I was looking for. When I spoke to Julie, I told her I wanted kind of like an ashy brown, darker hair than what I had and I just wanted to get rid of the blonde. Julie just said "alright I can do that" and I felt a bit skeptical because it just seemed too easy. She brought out the hair color mixture and, still skeptical, I showed her a picture of what I wanted my hair to look close to and she says ok and starts working on my hair. All I can say is I'm more satisfied with my hair than I have been in a long time. Highly recommend! read more

She is patient, understanding and very easy to connect with. She only uses the best products and is very experienced with cutting, styling and coloring. I mean, her own hair looks gorgeous. Plus, she is up to date on the fashion trend and gives amazing advice. I get to know her because the receptionist messed up with my appointment. Absolutely best place to go to for extensions! I went to Kristi Marshall for mine and they are the best i've seen! I love my hair now considering it was tragically short for my liking. Kristi was able to add in 18in extensions and blended them so well in my hair no one has even noticed that i have extensions in let alone that my hair magically grew about 8 inches over night! She did amazing work and surprisingly the process was not as long as i assumed it would be! The price was also very reasonable and she is able to get the bundles for you unlike some other salons. I saw her last week for a consultation and not even a week later did she order the extensions for me and make the appointment to install them! This review is for Laurel Guaderrama. I've been going to Laurel since May, and I could not be happier with my hair. When I first started going to her, I was in a rut with my brownish-blonde hair. But Laurel wove gorgeous, intricate highlights into my hair and I haven't looked back since. My hair is currently a lovely shade of silvery blonde and I am going back to her soon to add some purple into it. What I love about Laurel is that she is straight-up fun and creative. She has great suggestions, and she is willing to take your ideas and help you come up with the best look for your hair. Since working with her, I've done fun things like pink highlights and silvery-purple roots that I wouldn't have done before. But even color-phobes take note: she's fantastic at doing more natural styles like balayage and ombres as well (I highly recommend following her instagram for her creative, gorgeous styles: it's @looksbylaurel). She's also great at recommending amazing hair products. So far I have loved everything she has recommended. She's not one of those hairstylists who just tries to sell you products; she ensures that the products are REALLY good and will REALLY work for your hair. I'm not one to do much with my hair but thought I'd try something new, came in with my best friend to have her color corrected by laurel when I had seen what a great job she did on my friend I was convinced she'd be perfect for my hair. I was nervous at first but completely trusted laurel on her judgement. I brought my daughter in here yesterday for her back-to-school haircut. We didn't have an appointment, but they were able to accommodate us. The salon was super-cute. I loved their decor and it was very clean. The gal at the reception desk was extremely nice and helpful. My daughter had a picture of the haircut she wanted and the stylist was able to duplicate the style perfectly. After she cut and styled Sydny's hair, the stylist recommended a styling product but wasn't pushy about it. My daughter walked out with a smile on her face, so I was a happy mom.....I will definitely bring her back here again for a haircut!! read more

THE ABSOLUTE WORST HAIRCUT PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. SAVE YOUR MONEY. SAVE YOUR TIME. DON'T EVEN TEST IT WITH A GROUPON DEAL. THIS PLACE IS RIDICULOUS AND MY HAIR IS RUINED. Here's the story: I saw the Groupon deal and the 4.5 stars given to this place, and thought why not. I wanted a basic trim (nothing too crazy) and was excited to trim my hair so that it continues to grow out. My appointment was at 1:30pm. I got there and I was taken right away to get my hair washed. It was supposed to be a deep conditioning treatment, but there was nothing deep about it. Finally the hair wash was over and they sat me down to wait for Melinda. It hit 1:45pm... then 2:00pm... then 2:15pm, and I still wasn't not taken. The person who had washed my hair did not properly put the towel down so my back was SOAKED! Finally at about 2:20pm, I was taken by Melinda. WHAT A HORRIBLE PERSON! She looked at my hair and asked what I wanted to do with it. I told her I was growing it out and just needed something to make it look nice down. She grabbed my hair and literally took 2 strands of my hair and chopped it. This literally took a minute. And then, my cut was over and the blow dryer came out. The whole time I was sitting there (a.k.a. the 15 minutes it took for the entire treatment), she told me she was going through a divorce and how much of a b**** her ex husband is. I told her I volunteer at a family law facility and try to help people who go through a divorce and that I was very sorry for all that she was going through. She responded that all lawyers or wanna-be lawyers are mother****ing ***holes and why I would want to do that. Then she told me how I'm going to one of those snooty people who go to Nordstrom's and order customized suits. I told her that I am still young and that's not something that I want to be. She told me how I was lying to myself, and that she is smart and I am just going to be ****ing like them. Finally the blow dry was over and she told me I was all done at 2:35pm. I asked her if she had cut anything and she told me she was SO GOOD, and SO FAST, that she's just that great and my hair was perfect. Then she told me how I was an analyzer and how I shouldn't analyze her because she's been doing this for 10 years and she's just that amazing. Literally, she kept telling me how great she is. She had 3 people lined up after me and told me how easy this cut was and how I wasn't paying attention and to go on merry way. I paid and tipped her and cried the whole way home. I looked in the mirror and my hair now has two parts - the top bob cut which is a separate entity from the bottom half hitting my mid-back which is covered in split ends. My ONLY layer is half the size of my actual hair length and she didn't even cut the longer part of my hair. Instead, it was still covered in split ends. She did, however, do a beautiful blow dry and luckily for her, it had covered up all of the mistakes she made...until of course, the blow dry vanished. I couldn't take looking in the mirror any longer and went to the first hair salon I could find. They saw my hair and were appalled by the cut. They told me that someone literally just took the top half of my hair and chopped it off and did nothing with the bottom. This was before I even explained my 'fabulous experience'. The salon was closing but they felt so bad for me that they stayed. They were forced to cut my hair - something I did not want to do. They were supposed to cut it to the beginning of my neck line, in order to save it completely. When they saw how devastated I would be, they found a way to blend all my new layers, add some more, texture it, and keep my hair at a shoulder length. Needless to say, inches were forced to be cut because Melinda decided to do a single chop and ruin my hair. After gaining some courage, I went back to Salon Bloom to get my money back. The owner was very friendly and offered a free hair cut with her daughter. As much as I appreciated the gesture, I am staying as far away from this place as I can. Considering Melinda is the "master stylist" who trains the other stylists, and that is just one liability I will not risk. I spent a total of $100 - considering my wonderful cut with Melinda was through Groupon so I spent $40 (not including tip) instead of the $80 this "master stylist" usually charges. The other salon gave me a discount because they felt bad and just I am so appreciative that they dove in and fixed my hair from drowning in the waves of disgust. read more

I had the groupon for the cut and deep conditioning. Nothing deep about it. The cut was also just ok. All I needed was a trim and my layers blended. I don't really think she cut much off bc my ends were still frazzled and dry like they were before the cut. No blending happened whatsoever. I explained that my hair is curly and heavy and needs a certain amount of 'lift' in the layers. I got the typical 'oh yeah I know how to cut curly hair' shpiel. Yeah, no she didn't. I used to be a victim. Victim of shears from a middle aged Asian woman who gave me a "trendy" but still tragic Asian mullet. I'm sure you're familiar, they're common on those same little chickadees from the tour groups that are buying up all your Abercrombie and town-homes? Then, one magical day, I was privileged enough to cross paths with a one Kristi Marshall, and we lived happily ever after. Through two years of dedication, dry cuts, hair flare, and tender love and care; Kristi has turned my catastrophic situation into gorgeous bliss that now gets compliments on the regular. Our first time together was nerve racking, anonymous Asian woman was all I had ever known!! In addition, I have GOT to be thee only Asian with curly, wavy hair, no joke; so I honestly could never style it myself, so I just got the Japanese Yuko for about 5 years. Then I realized that upon graduating college, striving to look like an Asian adolescent was not gonna fly in the corporate world. I needed a change. Kristi recommended that I get the Brazilian Keratin treatment; different than the Brazilian Blowout because it lasts longer, has less formaldehyde, and costs much more (but is SO worth it!!!). Upon washing my hair, she was abhorred by what she found, thin butchered wisps down my back and one length around my crown; legal mullet, I tell ya. She swore she would help me; leaving my first appointment, I was nervous, she had taken my length up SO much to try and start the healing process and I just wasn't used to the length, but the dazzling shine from the health and glow that was infused in my hair from the Keratin was undeniable. Everyone loved my new hair; and after each and every one of my apts with Kristi, people gush how healthy and great my cut looks. After two full years, the wounds of past mistakes are a thing of the past, but I will never forget, but I think I'm healed. I am even seriously contemplating caramel highlights in a month or so. I am ecstatic that she opened her own salon! It is gorgeous inside; industrial trendy chic is the feel, everything flows beautifully, all the fixtures, work stations, and furniture are amazing looking. All the stylists are crankin' busy, and Kristi only knows the best, so I would trust any of the girls. This salon is full service, ladies! They do spray tanning, exquisite extensions, blow outs, wedding hair, Keratin, and Blow outs.....AND they have a ravishing center table where there is water, coffee, and treats for your belly while you're getting beautified!! Kristi's assistant Matt is spectacular, too!! During my appointment, he was not only assisting in flat ironing my hair to a cool 450 degrees, but he was washing other clients all the while getting towels washed and ready for the day. The environment is extremely fun and friendly with professionals that are very knowledgeable and truly care about what you want. There was a woman next to me that realized only after her hair was being blown out, that the color she picked was much too light for her taste; without so much as batting an eye, the stylist started getting the toner ready to fix it. Each fixture, product, furniture piece, and placement of everything is the living, breathing creation of Kristi and her overwhelming passion for good taste and excellent hair combined with a pure heart. From day 1, Salon Bloom has donated it's time and proceeds to local charities and gives back to their community regularly.
