After not being happy with the salons close to my apartment I walked a couple of blocks to Salon Bohemia due to its awesome Yelp reviews. First of all, I called and got an appointment that very day! Second the place is very lovely on the inside! Annnd my hairstylist was wonderful and charming. She really did everything she could do to the with my mess of a hair pile. I've really never had someone take their time on me the way they did here. I felt special and like they really know its important to meet their clients' needs. I personally have a hard time dealing with shelling out that much cash for a hair dye but that's how it goes in the big city and I'm glad I got my money's worth! One suggestion is that it would be helpful if they listed their price list on their website. read more

This place is amazing! First off, I called and got an appointment the same day. I was looking for a place that specializes in dealing with kinky curly hair such as mine. I went natural two years ago and have never let anyone else do my hair, so I was a bit scared to let a total stranger trim my ends. I went in the salon, and the vibe was very down to earth. Great music always playing. They are so hospitable, always smiling. As soon as i got there I was greeted by Raquel. She asked me what I wanted to do to my hair, I told her I wanted it trimmed and shaped so I can wear my curly afro. She did a wonderful job. She evened out my curls and used all Paul Mitchell products. Ever since I cut my own hair I didn't know how to take care of it. She gave me some tips on how to keep my hair healthy and my tight curls poppin. I left there super confident and was very amazed with the results. Gawd, this place is awesome. I got sooo lucky. I just moved here from down south to Park Slope. A couple of weeks after I got here, I noticed that I needed a haircut badly. I looked on yelp, and decided to give Salon Bohemia a try. I called them and told them to give me whoever. They booked me with Aisha (sp?). I was really expecting to get an ok haircut/style and then walk home to fix it. But I didn't. I went out right after. She is amazing. I felt like a supermodel when I left. No joke. I loved my hair. I've been back again. And will keep going back. And to top it off, the prices are great! I keep asking myself what I did to get so lucky. Love!! I got a recommendation from a friend to see Kiki at Salon Bohemia and I was not disappointed. I have pretty easy hair to work with (long, thick but fine, and naturally straight,) so I was expecting her to just give me a quick trim and send me on my way. Instead, she really listened to what I wanted and spent a lot of time giving me lots of shape and body. This is by far the best long haircut I've ever had. I really appreciated that nobody tried to push products on me, although she did let me know what she used. While my usual hair dresser in Williamsburg is out having her baby, I went a few blocks from my house to Salon Bohemia - heavily recommended by multiple co-workers. I didn't request anyone particular, got Leslie, and was completely satisfied - not only is she my co-workers' preferred stylist, she gave me a great cut and was fantastic to talk to as well. I have shorter hair and get nervous that I'm going to walk out with a bad cut (low expectation, I know) - but she gave me a great one and gives awfully cute cuts to my long-haired co-workers as well. read more

I'm a naturally curly girl - with probably 3b/3c hair type(?) - it's thick textured long and curly. For my first visit, i came to get a cut and possibly due to a lack of communication between the stylist and me, or a host of factors, it turned out badly. However, when I expressed my dissatisfaction and frustration, Salon Bohemia reached out to me to find out more. I recently went back to get my hair re-done the way it was intended, and the owner, Wendy, as well as, Jaheim (not sure if correct spelling) worked their magic on my hair. I really loved and enjoyed this experience - from the moment i stepped in I felt comfortable and at ease. In my experience, a lot of salons and stylists aren't very receptive to critique, so i was pleasantly surprised when I received a warm welcome. Wendy clearly knew her way around hair and how to work her scissors! And she cut it dry, which i preferred. Many stylists seem overwhelmed when they have big hair in the chair, but she was very calm, collected and friendly. She listened, discussed with me what i wanted, even suggested some ideas, and also checked in throughout to explain what she was doing. Jaheim shampooed and styled, and he was phenomenal with his hands. Literally, the best and most relaxing shampooing/head massage experience i've had (not to be dramatic, but shampooing is usually the least favorite and most uncomfortable part). I also had faded red highlights, some had faded to blonde in the front, and Wendy had suggested reviving some of the color to balance it out - which she did and though pretty simple, actually made a world of a difference. Wendy cleaned up my cut again after, taking care and attention to the details, and Jaheim finished with the styling, all of which happened in a timely fashion. The next day my hair, curls and color were POPPING and my coworkers have not stopped complimenting. My curls are alive again. Overall, in addition to leaving with popping hair, what made the experience even better was the service - they both had a calm and confident energy, gentle yet firm hands, all which made for a very easy and relaxing experience. They left my hair looking fabulous!! I'm in the city fairly often, but try to avoid being here when I'm in need of a relaxer! There are many great places for blowouts and cuts, but trying to find a good salon that does relaxers, without wanting an arm a leg and a piece of your salon, AND that's open on a Monday is nearly impossible. I found this place is Salon Bohemia. They were able to get me in for a same day appointment and the staff was super friendly. They prices were great, I left with my hair whipped and dipped, and they got me in and out with a reasonable amount of time. The ONE little thing I wish the did was offer wine or beverages. My normal salon had permanently closed and I was nervous to try a new place. Someone recommended Bohemia and I was nervous, but took the plunge. I want to shout out Jessica at SB! I have a complicated home situation with one of my children and Jessica was so flexible with me and did not make me feel bad about it....I had to come back twice for my services to be finished and she was polite, sweet and professional. I absolutely loved my experience at this salon. Right from the get-go, I knew I was going to be taken care of. The stylist that did my cut and color was Latoya, and she was extremely friendly and helpful. When describing the kind of style I wanted, we talked for about 10 minutes or so in getting exactly what I wanted without there being any confusion. I had my hair washed, cut, then colored twice and then washed again and had it styled. And during the process, we had a conversation and even got a cup of coffee, which I seriously needed. She gave me tips on how to keep my hair healthy, which I will definitely do, lol. I was very pleased with how everything went. I love my new look and I was happy with how everything was handled. This is the first time in my life where people, even strangers, are raving about my haircut. Three weeks after I got my cut, I was in the mall and a store clerk told me I looked great with short hair. Even the big boss in my office said, "Great do, Kate!" Aisha did a wonderful job cutting and styling my hair. My hair is "Botticelli" curly and not very easy to manage. All I have to do now is put a little bit of gel in, curl strands around my fingers for a bit and it looks great. One piece of advice though: make sure Aisha checks that your cut is symmetrical. I asked her to change it a bit towards the end and she didn't cut it evenly throughout. I had to do the extra cutting on my own. read more

I was REALLY excited to discover this place. I was walking down 7th Ave. with my dog and saw an African American woman doing the hair of another African American woman. In Park Slope. The website seemed really reassuring that they'd be skilled with my transitioning to natural African American hair. I called and briefly described my hair and what I wanted style-wise and was given an appointment with Patti. I just wanted a shampoo, blow dry, and straight style, with ends slightly turned under. Appointment started off on not a great foot with the deep conditioner upsell attempt. "Just so you know for the future, we have XYZ special conditioners." "That's good to know, thanks." "So you want one?" "No, thanks." "Do you want to go under the dryer?" "Not particularly, no. I just want a simple straight blow dry." We get to the chair post-shampoo and she suggests a trim, I say okay. Then she says she wants to take off 3 inches. I say if it is just in the back - then yes, but if it is all over, then no. She says all over. I say no. She says how I reeealllly should let her do the cut. Personally - I don't let a stylist cut my hair on a first visit, I want to know I can trust them before they lop off 6 months of growth. At this stage I'm frustrated at her trying to turn a trim into a cut and say to just forget about the trim, just give me the blow dry. Then she starts saying how if I'm not getting the trim that she can't do my hair straight and would need to do a slight soft curl in it. I'm tired of fighting with her so I say fine. A few minutes later she says "it is so much more fun styling your hair curly than it would be straight." I think - wtf?! I'm paying for this, I'm not here for HER to have fun. It is at that moment I look in the mirror and realize that she's styling my hair the way she's wearing her own hair. Ack. It looks terrrrrible, like fat shirley temple curls. I just want to get out at this point, I try to not look in the mirror anymore or think about it. She's finally done, one side looks okay, the other side has formed three giant mega curl blobs and looks awful. I ask her if she can make it more like separate curls like the other side. She kinda scrunches the curls with her fingers, that's it. I give up and get up to go, but am unable to keep my girly emotions in check and start to cry because I hate it so much and have a party to go to in two hours, nevermind that Christmas eve is the next day and will be seeing all my family. She tries to comfort me by saying "I'm sorry, I was just doing what I thought best for your hair but I can do it the way you want it, I just can't promise it won't be damaged." That was the last straw. My hair was sufficiently straightened in the process of curling it; if anything curling it is MORE damaging because each piece of hair got one pass of the iron to smooth, the second to make the stupid ringlets. I couldn't believe she was mixing irrational condescension in with her attempt to comfort me. I pay, gtfo, and go home and brush my hair out for 25 mins so I can even consider leaving the house. $55 down the drain, sigh. After all of that - you might wonder why I give the place even two stars. That is because I think if I had had any other stylist in there I'd have left happy. All their clients emerged looking great. There was a tall, thin, African American man in there styling the hair of an older African American woman (maybe about age 70+). He seemed to really be listening to her and treating her and her hair with such respect, I was jealous and wished I'd had him instead. read more

I am a *curly* girl, and for some reason, my hair is an anomaly to all who attempt to cut it. For a long time I had an awful habit: grow hair out for 7+ months, find a clueless hair dresser get a rotten short haircut, grow hair out for 7+ months and find a new clueless hair dresser and get a rotten short haircut. Lather. Rinse. Repeat. I had moved to DC found an excellent hair dresser and thought I had left my terrible habit behind. My last cut had been in the beginning of December in DC, but after moving to Brooklyn knew I needed to find a new stylist. I was scared of going to someone new but I read some reviews of Aisha's performance on curly hair and since people seemed to be happy, so I tentatively made my appointment. Scared was the correct emotion to have because the butchered hack job Aisha gave me is going to take months to grow out. From the beginning when I sat in a chair with the previous client's clippings still covering every surface, I knew I was in trouble. I told Aisha my hair sprung back very, very high, and that I wanted no more than one inch off the bottom. She said fine and asked if I wanted to keep my long layers (less than an inch above the bottom layer). I did. After a decent wash and condition I sat in the chair (which the assistant cleaned off embarrassingly when she saw all the hair) and Aisha began hacking at the bottom furiously. I saw the first pieces in my lap at about 1.5 inches long. When she saw my unhappy face she said, "its too scraggily, it needs a bit more than an inch". Fine, but please keep it long as you can. Less than 8 minutes later my cut was done, which startled me since they usually take a good 15-20 minutes. I left without drying my hair because I don't like styling my hair when it's combed through, so I paid my bill, tipped, and ran home. As soon as I got in the shower I knew I was in trouble. By the time my hair dried, my layers were 4 INCHES higher than the bottom of my hair. There is no salvaging this cut, and I'm stuck trying to make the HIDEOUS haircut lie somewhat better on my head. So please, save yourself the tears, your money and months of regrowth and do not go to Aisha at Salon Boehmia. read more

I called the salon to inquire about curly cuts. I was told by the receptionist that they do specialize. So I booked an appointment. Really wish I hadn't. Unfortunately I just got one of the worse "curly cuts" I have ever had :-( Let me say this though. The salon is cute and clean and the hair stylists seem very welcoming. All the more reason I was very hopeful that I would come out a happy camper. I told my hairstylist KIKI that I wanted to keep the length. Pulled taut, my hair was down to my waist. Curly, it was mid back. We talked about layers and staying away from it looking like a mullet and then she proceeded to cut my hair dry. Right away I noticed she was already going too short and that the cuts were blunt as if she was cutting straight hair. I mentioned it looked shorter than I wanted to which she defended that she'd actually cut less than I had requested. After washing it you could really see how short it was... I told her again it was ALOT shorter than I had asked and again she kept saying she cut less than I asked. How is that possible? Curly, my longest hair was past the the middle of my back. Now it's hanging around my shoulders. At this point I can't grow the length back and I'm not going to cry about it. She put product in and put me under the dryer without putting hair pins to lift the roots. My hair is very tricky. Somedays it can be super curly and look like I have tons of hair but if I don't take time to let it air dry and put the right products it'll look somewhat flat. So If I want the roots to take volume I have to dry my hair upside down while scrunching hair to the roots. I noticed that under the dryer my roots were drying straight so I started scrunching it to give it some volume and she came over politely to let me know she would take care of that. I tried to explain to her if my hair dries like that it'll stay wavy at the root and won't curl. Excuse me, but I know my hair. Anyway on to the "curly cut". It was terrible. She was pulling my already curly hair straight to work on the shape by doing blunt cuts. A curly cut is like pruning a bush. It's not about making the hair even. It's about shape. You're supposed to cut curl for curl. When I explained that to her she seemed a little annoyed with me and honestly I can understand. Here I am, the client, basically telling her she's not giving me a proper curly cut. But the reality was that she wasn't. I have had a curly cut numerous times and every time my hair had length and I get compliments for the way my curls look. She then went in and cut curl for curl like I asked and just made it worse. Grabbing curls pulling them and snipping them randomly. I just pretended to be happy paid, tipped and left. I would always get compliments on how long my hair had grown... I'm really upset at how short my hair is now. It took me 3 years to grow it the length that it was. Truly upset :-( read more

I'm a little unhappy about my hair experience with Aisha. I felt like she was grumpy the whole time, like I had inconvenienced her or something... A lot of little things were off, for example she didn't wrap my wet hair at all after washing it so it got my shirt wet, and she didn't bother to show me how the back looked at the end. Also, I'm not really the chatty type, but it would be nice to have someone at least smile and ask how I am doing when I'm paying them $75 or so plus tip for a 45-min service. This was really subpar service, frankly. As for the haircut: I have thick straight hair which is pretty easy to cut, and usually I leave salons feeling like I look great (even if the haircut is not so good and ends up being impossible to style). This is the first time that nobody at all noticed I got a haircut, the blowout didn't really last, and the next day I just wore my hair in a ponytail. I wished she would have spent a little more time talking with me what I could do with it, but like I said earlier, she just seemed like she wanted to get out of there. read more

I waited a while to post this Yelp review because I had to remove my emotions from the actual situation and not post angrily. I have read several reviews about curly hair professionals and simply needed a trim to give my natural coils back there bounce. I found Salon Bohemia and read everything about Karen that said that she was well-versed in all types of curly hair and how she is constantly improving her craft . I was also happy with the fact that Salon Bohemia had such a diverse range of hair Specialists and assumed that my mixed curly hair was in safe hands amongst the diversity. Sitting in the chair with Karen she began cutting my dry hair and then decided that it was "way too dirty" and that I needed it washed. While washing my hair she moaned that my hair was "so nappy and dirty " as should combed through my hair. I explained to her that I wanted a natural style that I could do at home and she proceeded to brush out my curls and put in tons of product in since my hair was so"matted"( I could be wrong but I think the word matted is best used when describing knotted hair on a dog) .she then sat me under the dryer for a half an hour while she ate her lunch. When I came out of the dryer my hair looked crazy . It was to the point that I can kind of hear this silent cry from everyone that was in the salon at the time because they knew damn well that's that was not supposed to have happened . Karen then proceeded to Edward Scissorhands the rest of my hair telling me that she wasn't taking anything off and then knelt down behind me and whispered "do you need some pins or hair ties because you probably know how to style your hair best." Well for $75 haircut I don't think that I should have had to style my own hair when The Beautician was done because clearly my hair was now unmanageably short which is not the way I looked when I walked in nor what I wanted. I'm not trying to damage anyone's career but if someone asks me if I know how to pour cement I would say no because that's not what I know how to do... my point is if she doesn't know how to manage mixed curly hair I wish you would have just said that from the beginning. read more

I called Sunday morning at ten was able to come in for a major haircut at 11:30! I had Raquel, and although she was clearly busy, she was able to give me EXACTLY the haricut that was in the picture I brought in. And I was a little bit of a control freak, asking her what she was doing all throughout the process, so the fact that she was able to keep me calm and get her job done despite my obvious nervousness was a great thing. The hair washing sink was uncomfortable, and it's a little expensive, but i LOVE my cut and I'm really happy that my sis-in-law (who has very different hair than I do) gave me the reccomendation. That's one very good thing about the salon: it was truly multi-cultural. All kinds of women with all kinds of hair were getting services done on a random Sunday morning. They are great. Nicole cut my hair and did a really amazing job. She listened to what I asked for and provided helpful suggestions (and didn't make negative comments about my horribly grown out boxed dyed hair even though she is a blonde specialist). She did offer a solution for how I can make the transition less...obvious. And I will most likely be going back to her to follow up on that (just need to save a few more pennies... ;) ). Since moving back to NY longer than I'd care to admit years ago, I was scattered about where I went to get my hair cut. Sometimes here, sometimes there, but I couldn't ever commit. Then, I made the mistake of buying a groupon and getting highlights. Dear god in heaven, they were atrocious. Even after I went back to have them fixed, they were atrocious. Normally I am only moderately vain about these kinds of things, but I was only a week away from performing the wedding ceremony for some very close friends and knew that this orange skunk cap I was sporting would be captured forever in dreaded wedding pictures. I scavenged through yelp and the interweb and happened upon Salon Bohemia in the Slope. Nicole is a godsend. Not only is she hilarious, she is really great at her job and fixed me up real good. Since I saw her well over a year ago, she's the only person that I see. I've walked in there, having what can only be called a moment, and decided that I didn't have good hair and that it was time to just cut it all off. And so cut it all off we did. AND I LOVE IT. The whole salon vibe is fantastic, its fun and relaxed and not snooty. Everything they do is reasonably, which, lbh, in NY, even horrible salons feel entitled to NYC pricing. Great place. I moved to New York in August 2010 and was not looking forward to finding a new stylist. I am half white (though my mom has THICK hair) and half Haitian (like kinky kinky kinky Haitian) so my hair is not fun to deal with. I grew up in Huntington Beach, CA and although it took me forever to finally find someone who would not destroy my scalp or my mane, not to mention actually help my hair GROW via good products, experience, and skill, I did, and I did not want to have to go on another search once I moved. I did my research through reviews for ETHNIC HAIR and PERM/RELAXERS and found Salon Bohemia to be a winning salon in Park Slope. I called in and spoke with Wendy (who runs the place) to set up an appointment. I told her I had extremely thick and kinky hair and she said it was "no problem". Wendy is amazing. She went through my hair like it really wasn't a problem. The salon uses all Paul Mitchell high quality products and she was able to suggest new ways of helping my hair when I wasn't coming in so I would be helping in the growth process as well. She has a few assistants whom she will allow to help in the shampooing blow drying etc., but she is on their butts all the time in a very constructive manner so they 1. don't screw up my hair and 2. are learning how to do Black hair efficiently. I have been going back to Salon Bohemia ever since I started and love it. The staff is super friendly, the location is great, the prices are right, and the quality of their work and skill is terrific. I'm so thankful I found this salon and I'm planning on being a consistent client for quite a while. read more

I came in for a color change with picture in hand of what I wanted. I was happy about the darker color (though it was MUCH darker than the picture I brought), and didn't spend much time looking at the "highlights" she put in that we had never discussed - the artist decided to leave some of my lighter hair color as highlights. I should have looked closer after it was blown dry, but the "highlights" just look like I dyed my own hair badly and missed entire sections of it (i.e. it's not highlights - it's chunks of blond on dark red that start an inch or two down because the old color had already started to grow out). Complete waste of $300, and I'm going to have to buy hair dye for Duane Reade this week since I can't get it fixed before a wedding this weekend. Will not be returning. read more

So my 14 yr old daughter became obsessed with having side bangs . Only problem was her hair is very curly and dry . I have to say from the moment that I made the appt the girl who answered was very pleasant and sweet , I explained my fear that my daughters hair was long and very curly and I needed someone who knew how to do " Hispanic " hair She eased my fears and said don't worry that's what we specialize in. So, on the day of my daughters appt we met Shequilla . The salon it self was very welcoming. As soon as Shequilla looked at my daughters hair she knew right away that it wasn't even and that she was given that ridiculous tail in the back . ( stylist that don't know how to cut curly hair always seem to cut it in a v shape which looks like a long tail ) so she asked if I wanted her hair cut wet or dry . I told her dry , she knew I was Nervous and she kept on saying " don't worry mom " . Well long story short she cut her hair PERFECTLY !!!! It's almost a week later and my daughters hair looks amazing !!!!!!!! It's still long , she got rid of that tail , she gave her side bangs , and best of all my daughter is soooo happy !!! I highly highly recommend Shequilla my daughter felt very comfortable with her , she's very easy to talk to and very sweet , and this salon !!! BEWARE of HIDDEN COSTS. I just returned from Salon Bohemia, my second visit in a month for a blow-out. On my first visit I was paired with a lovely girl who did a fantastic job for $25. When I called this morning, she wasn't working but the receptionist assigned me to another woman. Afterall it was just a blow-out. Not according to their hidden price structure. My bill was $35; I asked why and was told that I had now seen a more "senior" stylist and therefore her starting costs were higher. Yet if I had seen a junior stylist the first time, why would she assign me to someone that was more costly?? I wanted the exact same service. My hair hadn't grown and there was nothing fancy about the blow-out. The place was NOT packed, and I could have a myriad of stylists. Sorry Salon Bohemia, this is terrible customer service. You should inform your clients if the price was going to increase 50% from one stylist to another. This only adds aggravation to my day, contempt for your staff and a desire to never ever return. After finding my schedule too busy to make it into my regular Manhattan spot I thought I'd give this place a try. I figured that I have pretty easy hair to cut. How bad could it be? Famous last words. I walked in and had to struggle to find a spot on the coat rack. I was then told to wait for my stylist, except that there was nowhere to sit and wait. I finally gave up and squeezed next to a bunch of random coats and bags on a lone bench. Finally, I met my stylist and explained that I wanted to keep my style but just trim it down. I then heard someone else in the salon say something about "before and after" and suddenly there was a camera in my face. That's how I learned that the salon wanted to use a before and after photo of me for an advertisement. Because I resisted, I was told that I didn't have to do it. Um, of course I didn't HAVE to do it!!! They should have just asked for my permission before bringing out the camera. I found this practice extremely rude and intrusive. Anyway, after declining the impromptu photo shoot I was brought to get my hair washed. (Perhaps the best part of my visit was the wonderful scalp massage.) Now for the cut. I acknowledged that I was overdue but again reiterated that I didn't want to go shorter than shoulder length. The stylist was actually quite nice so I felt pretty comfortable that the result would be acceptable. I didn't realize until my hair was completely dry that it's... gone. How bad could it be, I said? Very bad. I went to pay for my cut and bought a product to keep my hair straight. As I got up to leave I realized that I didn't have the product. I went back to the cashier and was handed the product -- no bag and no offer to provide one. My final score reflects the wonderful scalp massage and the fact that my cut is good -- it's just not what I asked for. If you go, you had better triple check that the stylist is on board with what you want. And don't expect to exchange pleasantries with anyone else who works there. read more

I was a semi-regular at the salon for years and years, and not a full regular only because I moved somewhat far away and was going to grad school and working, and so on. I almost always saw Karen. In all my adult life, living up and down the Acela Corridor, I don't think I've ever encountered anyone with so much hair-cutting talent. What Karen gets done is astonishing. One of my only complaints, though, was that I always found it tough to talk with her about what I wanted. If I knew, that was great - but if I was undecided or hesitant about something, I was on my own. I went back to the salon last weekend for the first time in years, after being away in DC, and found a completely different situation. I sat down in Karen's chair with no clue of what I wanted and no idea of how to even think about it - and coming off a few months that have been so personally and professionally stressful that I would almost call myself shell-shocked. Somehow Karen not only saw the potential for what my hair could do, but she took charge of showing me a completely new approach to thinking about styling it. I left feeling somewhat happy about my appearance for the first time in a long time and I've had a blast with my hair every morning this week. Jessica did my hair, color and cut, and treated me royally. I went in the morning when it wasn't busy and it was a lovely feeling being pampered and not rushed. I love the color she chose and the way she knew what would look right for me. All I had to do was sit back and relax. The styling was perfect. So was the softness of my hair. What a nice change! I've been going to this wonderful multicultural hair salon pretty much since it's opened. It's not unusual to see someone getting twists next to someone getting a boy cut or having their hair straightened. The staff is talented, friendly and they can do it all. I've had several of them (Rachel, Carlos and Wendy) cut my hair which is wavy but I usually wear cropped short. Aisha has been doing it for the past few years. What a great stylist. She listens to me, knows my head--and knows that I need a wash & go style...and sticks to it. Bohemia has a warm, neighborhood vibe but you get the cut of a posh uptown salon. Kudos to the staff for doing community fundraisers like the recent "Hurricane Sandy" effort. read more

A very nice experience with Karen, who was gracious enough to take me last minute on a Saturday morning for a shampoo, cut, and blowdry/style. She gave me a scalp massage and coffee and really listened and asked questions when I told her how my regular stylist usually cuts it. She explained the techniques she was using, and what the results would look like. I'm very happy with my cut and paid $60, which is higher than what I normally pay, but let's be honest here - I usually go to Dramatics. Got a haircut from Raquel on my 3c curly hair... looks... AMAZING... I basically brought in a few pictures of what I liked and she matched it perfectly! I'm not crazy about the Paul Mitchell products they use there, but other than that, she did an amazing job. Price is overall average as compared to other curly salons read more

I am happy with the color treatment I got here; PM color treatments are low-impact, and the salon only charged for a touch-up. But honestly, this is the worst cut I got in a decade. I have the easiest hair cut ever--the bob (it's the first cut hairdressers learn). But it's not straight and looks choppy. I know they'd try to fix it if I went back, but then it would be even shorter, and even more of a hack job. I won't say which hairdresser did this, b/c she was a nice lady w/a big family to feed. It pains me to write this, but I feel it's my civic duty to let people know that not everyone in this salon knows how to do a professional job . . . read more
