Kristin saved my hair. Had to find a new hair person since moving south and I had several people's creations running through my head. She balanced my color safely - without any damage- got me back to blonde. It looks so natural. Her technique makes it so I can even stretch out appointments to 6-8 weeks. I have never been able to go that long before. They are not the cheapest option in town; but like most services - you pay for what you get. She has always been on time and very friendly. This hair salon is very unprofessional. I made an appointment to get my hair done for a wedding with a specific stylist almost a week in advance. The appointment was confirmed, and I even got a confirmation text the day before that asked me to "please reply with a confirmation" (I responded saying that I'd be there). However, upon arrival, I was told that the stylist that I had booked with wasn't actually working that day and that it was "the stylists fault for not closing off his booking calendar." In a condescending manner, I was told that no other stylist at the salon would be able to help me because they're "busy" and that I could go "try the blowout bar down the street." I should've been helped in that moment. Something should've been done to accommodate me for the major inconvenience this was. And even if they truly couldn't help, sympathy would've gone a long way. The whole situation was treated as if it was out of their hands and that it was my problem to deal with alone. I had a wedding to attend and my hair was not done. But instead, the customer was punished for the salon's mistake in not communicating properly with stylists regarding availability. And then the CLEAR lack of concern for my problem just really turned me off. I really liked the stylist I was going to here, but the business as a whole is unprofessional. I don't even do this, but the way I was treated really left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

I was referred here by my sister to see Kristen. When you walk in , the staff is friendly and inviting. The salon is just gorgeous with so much attention to detail. They offer you a beverage (alcoholic or regular), which is nice. Kristen is amazing at her craft!! She was very sweet and friendly to begin with and her shampoo was awesome. She gives the most amazing scalp massage during the shampoo. The products they use are all top of the line as well. Kristen is very skilled in her craft and gave me the best cut and style ever. I don't think I have had an experience this good and I cannot wait to return to get some highlights. Managing my hair is no easy task as it is long, thick, and curly, Jeffrey never disappoints. Whenever I leave the salon I look and feel great. Called in the morning and got a mani/pedi that day! So great! Super friendly on the phone but didn't explain the parking situation. The parking outside the studio is metered so you need to go into the garage parking but there isn't an easy turnaround if you missed the side street. I moved to Ft. Lauderdale in May 2012. And, if any of you Yelpers out there are as picky as I am, then you HAVE to visit Salon Bongini. Firstly, the place is decorated beautifully! Totally modern and CLEAN AS A WHISTLE. I don't know about y'all, but the first thing I look at when I enter a salon for the first time is the floor. The floor will tell you how well a salon is managed. Well, there wasn't a speck of hair in the floor. Anywhere. Nada. Zilch. In fact, I've been a religious patron for nearly 10 months now and the only time I see hair on the floor is when someone literally just left the chair. Then, the staff. What a joy! I have my hair done by the ever-so-talented, Kristen Black. When I first moved here I started growing out my hair from the pixie cut you see in my profile picture...And, I have to say that this is the first time that I've grown out my hair and have not been disappointed with what she's done to help the process. And speaking of process, the products they use for color is actually HEALTHY for your hair...You know why? Because they know what they are doing!!!!!!!!!! The other staff rock too. You are always greeted by a coffee, wine, or bottled water and a SMILE. You always hear laughter in the salon. The staff genuinely like working there. And, they always help one another out. There's no underlying drama or competition among the stylists. I leave and feel so relaxed and happy every time... All I can say is "I have found my new happy place". I was referred to Joel by a good friend and boy, was she right on. As soon as you walk in you are greeting by Jennifer. So sweet and hospitable. Joel consulted with me about what I wanted and made a few suggestions. Then on to the "color table". Rather than the traditional salon where you stare at yourself in a mirror the entire time you are being worked on, there is a glass "dining room" table and chairs. They bring you a cup of coffee and you feel like you are in Joel's home. After that the best part. The hair wash. Remarkable. I was almost asleep with the caressing and massaging of my temples, head and the back of my neck. It was wonderful. Joel then did a fabulous cut and blow dry. I have already made my next appointment! I have only been to the salon once but I am going back soon. I went in for a color and blow out. I have had some recent hair trauma at another high end salon in Weston. They recommended micro link extensions after my hair was stripped twice and cut to remove the dead ends. However the extensions started breaking my hair off , I lost almost 8 inches in total. Joel the owner and Kathryn my colorist at Bongini took very good care of me and were honest about what I needed to do to grow my hair back out. I like the environment and the staff. Thank goodness for the internet and review websites like Yelp, because before these existed, I just would've gone to any old hair salon and possibly coming out looking worse than when I went in. I visited Salon Bongini yesterday and got a wash, cut, and style with Kristen. She is AMAZING! I thought that $75 for a hair-cut was kinda pricey, but I feel that she totally gave me my money's worth. She was very informative on tips for my wild, un-tamed hair, she washed and massaged my head and scalp which felt so good, and ACTUALLY knew how to layer properly! I've been to count-less salons and could never find someone who can do my layers the way that I like them. I asked her to get my hair pin-straight because that's how I like it, but she first showed me a different style that I ended up liking even better! She blew my hair out and ironed it and styled it amazing! So I had her leave it like that instead of finishing up with the pin-straight hair. She really took her time and I couldn't be happier! The salon staff were all extremely nice and personable and the salon was very clean and gorgeous inside! It was on the ground floor of a luxury apartment building, and it had that modern Art Deco/South Beach feel to it, which I love! I was also offered bottled water, soda, coffee, or my choice of wine. I was sent out the door today by the rude owner after I complained about their lack of parking.I am a long term customer of one of the hairdressers in this salon.I have come several times to this location and every time had hard times finding parking.There is no designated parking for this salon and on the street parking is limited to 10 min.I just want to point out how little respect for the customer this Salon has. Salon Sathori right next door has ample parking for their customers.This is the sign that they care.I have never been treated in any business rudely and unprofessionally by the owner as in Bonghinis. Alright, so we've all had bad experiences where we say, we are NOT going back there again! Well...I am so glad I didn't follow that silly rule with Salon Bongini! I was in a pinch and desperately needed a trim.
