Israel is absolutely incredible at what he does. I came in in a pickle and he helped me out and transformed my hair into the most beautiful and healthy hair I've ever had. Brian is an insane Master Colorist. He knows his stuff. Everyone always asks me who does my hair. I always see different ethnicities in his chair too. I have been going to Israel for almost 4 years now. I fell in love with the salon because he turned a vision to life when I first went to him, but all visits after that things slowly started going down hill. I could tell he cared less and less about me loving my hair every time I'd go in, he would charge me ridiculously high prices for a mediocre job and I often had to go back and fix things a couple days later. The last time I went to him he absolutely botched my hair. I didn't even have it in my to go back and fix it. He rushed through my hair, didn't do anything I asked for and still charged me more than what he should have. I wanted balayage and all I left with were orange stripes in my hair. Super disappointing to say the least. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is for his incredible assistants who were always so kind and did a great job styling my hair afterwards. read more

My girl is Brooke at Hair Studio, she is awesome and can do hair too boot! She truly is an amazing colorist. Very well versed in hair color treatment and maintenance. The best part is, she loves her job, like gets giddy with excitement when she has a new client trying out a new bright hair color. Saying a place is the "best kept secret" sounds so cliche, however, I've been to the best of the best in Westlake Village and the local areas. I've been gifted to the best places in Melrose and Beverly Hills and yet I gotta say this place really is really cool and is quite it's only little niche. Like a little gold mine, it's new enough to where people don't quite know about yet, This place beats them all, which says a lot considering the talent in this area. That said, you just have to try them. Master stylist and colorist, Israel Coronado, formerly of Panache, bought Westlake Hair Studio. Not sure why Yelp hasn't changed the name yet (???), but the name of this salon is "Salon Coronado". 1) It's low key, down to earth, no drama. Celebrities can feel safe coming here and people like me can also show up in my sweats and be made to feel valued. 2) Everyone has super GREAT talent (which, ironically, usually go along with large ego's), yet everyone is humble, kind and authentic, and funny, too! 3) They are proactively passionate in continuing their education for their talent and creativity. As a bonus, they love educating their clients as well. 4) This is a team/family environment. You can stop searching now, you've finally found the right place! I know I have. With an ombré in mind, after visits upon visits to salons (some in the valley, a few in Agoura, and plenty in westlake, I have found THE BEST stylist, Liz!!!) Two days ago I was aimlessly walking from salon to salon speaking to color specialists that could help me out of this mess and into what I wanted (I provided pictures of what I wanted) and Liz was the first and only out of many stylists that I spoke to (compared to different salons) who was on top of what I was speaking about, worked with me on a comfortable price for my college student budget, and told me I could come back in an hour when she was done with her client! There were no harsh judgment looks from her like I received from other studios, which I appreciate a lot. Her awesome attitude only shined through more when she patiently applied foils into my hair for TWO HOURS and brought my hair to this beauty!! You guys. I have not been able to find someone with this great of skill, talent, knowledge, WHO actually applies it TO the clients wants!! My botched jobs in the before pictures have been through/from three different stylists at three different salons. That's why I took my time aimlessly scouting many salons. But Liz, she even talked me through what was happening and where the last jobs on my hair went wrong, she could see what the last stylist was trying to do but how it wouldn't work (obviously it didn't work) and I was so so shocked because the stylists had like 10-30+ more years of experience than miss Liz and THEY didn't even know how to handle my hair! To continue, magnificent Liz stopped using a certain toner when she saw my hair changing into the wrong shade of color and decided to go on a different route. That right there, on top of all the other great points I had with her and this salon, is the reason why I am going back to her now and forever! She is my stylist now and forever, I am so so happy to finally leave a hair salon feeling confident that my stylist knows me and what I want to achieve, she is freaking amazing and I can't wait to bring my sister in there so we can have her dye our blondes to a lavender purple or some other funky color that we've never done before. That's the confidence level I walked out with, and I feel connected to Liz that she gets it and gets the job done :') never had this great of an experience, but I'm so ready to build on it!! In July 2015, Israel Coronado set up his station. I used to see Israel at the now closed Panache Studio. Israel helped renovate and upgrade this place. It's beautiful compared to what it used to look like. There are new stylists here and Israel is one of The Best Stylists in the Conejo Valley. My former naturopath, Melissa Metcalf Buches, highly recommended him back in 2009-2010 because she said the Goldwell coloring line he uses was the least toxic. I have had the best experience with Chris Tanaka. He used to be at Panache Hair Studio and is now at Westlake Hair Studio. Chris has been doing my hair for years and every single time he does my hair I get so many compliments. He is very professional when he works on my hair and what I love is that he takes his time and he is very particular about making my hair look perfect. I go a really long time without coming back to get my hair redone because the color never fades and I still get compliments after months and months of not getting a touch up. Somehow, he makes the color last a really long time without getting brassy at all and when my roots start to grow out, it still looks amazing. Before starting to come see Chris, I did not like how other places did my hair. Ever since I started to come see him I haven't gone anywhere else and I drive from Santa Clarita to Westlake Village just to see him. What I love the most is that I feel so comfortable just letting him do whatever he wants to my hair. I am always in love with the end result. read more
