The pedicure was amazing... the manicure was horrible. From customer service to details. I showed pictured and even said the same length and structure as the receptionist for visual (except for color design). Been here many times before for my own engagement and wedding nails and was happy. But this time was beyond upset. She made me bleed, she couldn't even do a simple nail design I showed her. Some nails thick, the side showing my nails. She did zero cuticle prep. Didnt bother to trim my nails or clean prior. I loved coming here when we lived in Redondo and the ladies were all very sweet and did a great job. The one star is because they consistently cannot honor appointments - I have given them 3 separate tries to see if it was a fluke, but it does not matter how far in advance you book, they will not start your service until at least 30 minutes after you arrive. Even then, they will interrupt your service to assist walk ins. Its a lovely and clean facility but not somewhere to go if you don't want to be there all day. read more

The salon was clean and the service itself was enjoyable (massage, manicurists). I had to change course last minute due to getting to another appointment and asked for clear polish instead of a color. My cuticles looked terrible/untouched, the clear polish came off in one sheet the next day and since this appointment my nail health has not been the same. They have been ripping, fragile, bending. Wow. I used to come to this salon before COVID but not on a regular basis because the prices were a bit high. My regular salon is now closed for remodeling so I came back here. When I arrived, the place was empty. I asked for a mani / pedi and was told they no longer offer discounts when you get both. They handed me a menu and the price was $55 and $45 for both. I asked for a shiny buff on my hands and that was $7 more. For this price, they included wax on the hands, a short shoulder massage and longer massage on the feet. I don't usually get the wax or longer massages so was a bit disappointed they force this service on you. With tip included, the price was double what I'm used to paying. I use to go to this place long before Covid (under different ownership) and it was great. It was only slightly more expensive than other places but value for money. Post covid new owner, pricing increased significantly compared to same service at other salons. I had to look for alternatives because the cost is about 75 over other places for a full mani pedi. I have to write this review because I like the place but, my nails have looked like crap this last time I went in there for an acrylic fill gel mani and pedi. It cost about $300 and my mani looks like crap. I had to have one of the other places that I have found fix it. It's convent for me to go there but not value for money any longer. If this was the first time I was not satisfied with my mani I would give them another chance but this is the third time and at a cost of almost 300 I would not recommend going there. read more

Came in for a Pedi with my husband. He liked his service and said the gal who worked on him did a fantastic job. She was gentle and gave a good massage. I had Denise and it was TERRIBLE. She dug into my big and left them throbbing. She gave a half assed massage and was annoyed I didn't want to upgrade the Pedi. For the price these nail techs should be well trained and give good service. She was horrible at cutting the cuticles as well. I felt like she was ripping my toes. Gel polish only lasted less than 2 days before peeling off. I went on Friday at 5pm and it started lifting on Sunday morning. They didn't have the color I picked originally, so I had to go with a substitute that was nowhere close to what I wanted. Fraudulently charged my debit card & found out this has been going on for 2+ years. Noticed two unusual ATM charges on my statement yesterday. Turns out this place has not only been charging $1 for using their credit card machine to pay, this machine is actually set up as an ATM machine, so every time I paid, I was charged a non-bank ATM fee of $3. They also ran my card separately for service and tip one day, which resulted in my being double-charged the ATM fee. I called and was told owner "Kelly" would call me back to discuss but she didn't. I have now filed claims with my bank for every time I went there in the last two years and will never go to this salon again. Beware! read more

I have been going to Lux Nail Spa for 10+ years now. I have had some amazing nail artists there and some amazing massages!! Obviously, the final look of my nails matters but taking me time there is so important too. I have two little ones and don't get much relaxation time but Denise and Ana take the best care of me. Ana is amazing with artificial nails, she shapes impeccably and makes my nails look beautiful. If you want the best most relaxing pedicure make sure to see Denise. She does an amazing job with the nails and cuticles and always tends to my needs. She gives an AMAZING foot and leg massage which I always extend at least 5 more minutes. Plus, she knows this pressure point on the bottom of the foot that helps with the ticklish jumping foot which I definitely have. If you want a regular manicure or gel manicure make sure to see Susan, she does a beautiful job on your nails but gives the best neck and upper back massage too. I highly recommend Lux to anyone who wants to relax and be pampered, plus you can get a green tea or champagne during your service too at no additional charge. read more

I stopped going to this place for about 2 years because I received a terribly painful pedicure and was very disappointed in how they handled the situation. I finally went back today and I'm in shock. I upgraded my mani/pedi and spent $150 (including eyebrow wax) and the ladies made it sound like I would be pampered. There was no scrubbing, there was no aromatherapy, the massaging was more like rubbing. I did receive the callous remover (as advertised) but it wasn't as thorough as it should have been for $70!!! The lady who did my toes was digging her long nails into my feet as she "massaged." At one point it hurt so much that she saw me cringe and apologized, which is fine, but continued as usual. (If someone is giving massages then they should not have long nails!) I certainly can't be the only one this has happened to. Anyway, I also received a very basic eyebrow wax, no tweezers were used to clean anything up and no light to sit under to make sure it's done properly. Long story short, the ladies rushed through my services because they had two women come in who were waiting. I could have gone down the street and received the same treatment for half the price. This place is a complete rip off. At the very least, I recommend sticking to the basic mani/pedi and don't upgrade. It's a complete gimmick. read more

I went here last week on my birthday to get my nails done with my sister and boyfriend. I debated since if I should write a review of my experience because this is my first one I've ever written but feel it's necessary. Again, I went on my birthday so was super excited to spend the time relaxing with my boyfriend and sister. There were no problems when i made the appointment or when we arrived and seated. I got a gel manicure with design and signature pedicure. My boyfriend got a regular manicure with signature pedicure. My sister got a gel French manicure. I showed my technician what I wanted (first picture below) and knew it would be a big ask since she hesitated for a bit and continued to look at the picture. I asked if it was alright and she said yes. I would've been absolutely okay with her admitting she didn't feel comfortable doing the design, and I would've chose something else. But she said it's fine and we continue the services and everything was great so far. Except below is the outcome of my nails. The first nail she did was the left pointer finger and thought okay it's not bad I'll let her finish that hand before I look again. I admit, I should've checked each nail and said something to her but she was already halfway done, and I'm extremely shy and felt bad to make her start over. This isnt even the worst part that made me extremely uncomfortable. My boyfriend and I got the signature pedicures. I skipped on the scrub, because of a fake tan I had gotten. When I had finished, my boyfriend was still getting his massages done and I waited for 15 minutes for him to finish. This is confusing because I had gotten polish on my toes with a gel manicure, but he didn't get polish on either. Why was I waiting for him? Lastly, when I thought he was done, I look over and he's getting a 10 minute neck massage?!?! I thought this was very weird, so i asked my technician if the neck massage came with the signature pedicure, because I wasnt even offered one even though we got the same thing? She said that she didn't do it for me because my hair was down and I was wearing a sweater. Not sure what that's suppose to mean, but I immediately got uncomfortable. He did not ask for it and I have never been to a salon that offered neck massages. Looking back at the menu, I still dont see any neck massages being offered!! She must have sensed that because she started to apologize, and i just said it's fine because I just wanted to get out of there. Before I could tell my boyfriend of my experience, he paid and tipped them well (because he had a great experience since he was weirdly pampered) by having him individually venmo the technicians since the ATM was out of order. Also, for our services the total was 274$. That's for two signature pedicures, 1 regular manicure, 1 gel manicure with design and 1 French tip manicure. This seems just extremely overpriced and inaccurate. Again, I didn't go back or speak up because I am very shy and not use to confrontation. However, I learned my lesson where next time I'm in this situation I will speak up and confront them on my true feelings. Extremely extremely disappointed and uncomfortable with my experience here.
