The owner is not an expert and I made…read morethe mistake of listening to her recommendation of a "loose perm" which completely-100%-damaged my hair! Knowing my hair was damaged the owner suggested deep conditioning treatments at the salon's expense. Needless to say, these deep conditioning treatments did absolutely nothing to correct the situation. I took my time to visit the salon, receive the deep conditioning treatments, and again, at the recommendation of the owner, slept with the leave-in treatment in my hair overnight and my hair still remained damaged. Nothing Jolie Rain offered corrected the damage to my hair. Please do yourself a favor and find a different hair salon! Update: The owner, Lauren, telephones and leaves a voice mail message profusely apologizing and promises to send a check. Lauren asks that I please send her my address. I mail Lauren a letter with my mailing address and never receive a check. Shame on you Lauren/Jolie Rain Hair Salon - Bad business!

They ladies here fixed the horrible highlights and cut like it was nothing. And I have very thick, long hair. Everyone is so sweet. I usually take appointments with whoever is free because I schedule last minute, but everyone here is so talented. I have zero complaints. They do amazing bridal/wedding parties. All 3 of my sisters have had their bridal parties get hair done here the morning of the weddings (one in '12 and 2 in '15). I've had my hair half braided, half curls and an all up-do curls and it all looked amazing. They really listen to your ideas and what you want and if you're unsure they help you make a decision without being pushy. Can't recommend this place enough.

However, that wasn't the case when I arrived. The teacher stopped by briefly, spending between 2 to 5 minutes showing the student what to do and left. She seemed quite rude to the student, creating a tense atmosphere. I was the only customer in that large room. I told them I needed to leave in 2 hours for dental surgery, pointing to my swollen face and explaining that I was in pain. The girl working on my hair was inexperienced--it was her first time doing this type of work. She was very nervous and almost shaking--poor girl. Meanwhile, three other students were sitting around, bored and doing nothing. I assume this school isn't free. What a scam! There was no "expert supervision," and as a result, my scalp was burning, and my hair looked awful and burned. It took over an hour to put partial color on my hair, and then I was told to wait 30 minutes before washing it out. After waiting, Ive asked the student to wash my hair. The teacher finally stooped by and noticed the mess on my head and instructing me to wait at least 15 more minutes. Well, I couldn't wait as I had to leave for my surgery, and my scalp was burning from sitting with chemicals for 1 hour and 40 minutes. She refused to let the student wash my hair mentioning that I had signed some paperwork and would leave when she said so. At this point, I went to the washer to wash my hair myself. The teacher was yelling, instructing me to leave immediately if I wouldn't allow them to complete the work and wait, and even shut off the water over my head. "I'll see you in court," I told them as I headed to the first bathroom to rinse the nasty chemicals from my hair with water before my surgery. At this point, three people were yelling and pushing me, accusing me of things I hadn't done. I was crying, shouting that I was in pain, just needed my hair being washed and leave. Unfortunately, no one listened or cared. Worse still, they called the police, accusing me of hitting someone. It was surreal--a nightmare. On my way to my car, they were excitedly taking my car plate numbers while talking to the police. I couldn't wait for the police as I had to leave for my surgery. After the surgery, still in pain , I contacted the police in person, planning to file a formal complaint.
