Salon Indah is wonderful and Liliane is the best. It's a treat to go to the salon and the ambience is relaxing. I've been going to Liliane for a few years now and she's done what no else can: she made me love my hair. Liliane knows how to cut and style curly hair and keep it looking healthy. I have the Brazilian Blowout done to calm my frizzy, curly hair. I've never received so many compliments from friends and strangers. My cut-lady, Jeannie Garcia,, moved here from Second Street Beauty. What a great place - just a little off the beaten path and very organic/comfortable. Jeannie gives a great cut. Some of the hairdressers on Second Street get their hair cut here, which is a great compliment to here. Versus hairdressers that do what they want or cut too much, she will listen to what you want and deliver. Very relaxing, nice head massage and great craft. read more

Charlene has been coloring and styling my hair for about 6 years. I am always impressed with how she colors my hair in such a way that looks so natural! She does not use bleach, which I love! I can definitely see and feel the difference with the "blonde highlights" of previous salons in comparison to her lifting and brightening (non-damaging) techniques. I usually get the same cut and color every time, and a few years ago, I got the Brazilian Blowout. It was amazing! For me, it served it's purpose of keeping my straight (fine) hair, silky and tangle free for several months. I will do it again when my hair gets longer. The whole experience at the salon, from chatting with Charlene, to starting up conversations with other clients, is comfortable, and such a quaint and charming environment for a salon. To start, this salon is so cute and cozy! I've been to Emma for my last three hair cuts, and must mention I NEVER go to the same hair stylist (I'm usually finding cheap Groupons and hopping around). I love her. She is very cool, bubbly, and genuine, like having a good friend cut your hair. You should also know that she gives a mini head massage during your hair washing...it doesn't get better than that! My first cut was just a trim for my long hair and she styled it beautifully. Second time, I opted for the long bob (cut off about 7 inches to just above my shoulders) and I loved it. Third time I wanted something edgier and went for a bob just at my chin. Emma is super detail oriented and will make it absolutely perfect -- just the way you want it. Usually I bring a picture to my stylist...but does the finished product look like my picture? NO. If you take it to Emma? YES, if not better. After cutting and drying, she goes back and perfects the edges to makes sure it lays nicely. Basically, she knows what she is doing and she knows what will work best for you. Don't forget to take a catwalk down Second Street to show it off when you're done! read more

I have to say im super particular about my hair. im very picky and indecisive when making drastic changes but this place has been nothing but great. let me start by saying this review is long over due. I first came in here about a year ago when a friend recommended Emma to me and she has been the best. Ive never been to the same salon more than once but because of her I will keep comming back. This is a great little non-pretentious salon just off the beaten path of Second Street. It's such a refreshing change from the plethora of other uptight salons with attitude. Jean Marie is fabulous: totally low-key and gives a great cut and head massage. Love the shampoo bowls with the foot rest that pops up like a recliner (SO MUCH more comfortable ... why doesn't every salon have that?). Also, they are open pretty much seven days a week and are very flexible and open with scheduling morning, afternoon and evening. read more

Emma has left the building!! It's not that the Salon is all that bad... But Emma was definitely the young vibrant contemporary thing that the Salon had going for it. Since it was Emma's service that was the reason for my previous 5 star I felt like I needed to update. I'll be following her to her new location. Still in Long Beach just up the road on 4th @ Sage. And an added bonus... They have their own parking lot. Which means no more $50 parking tickets on top of the cost of my service :) read more

Lilian has taken me from my natural darkest brown almost black to blonde and in between and back again and never once did I leave her chair unhappy. Here is the kicker, I'm a 20+ year master hair stylist, master colorist and major perfectionist. When I could no longer work in the industry due to allergies I had to find a stylist who not only would be able to live up to my expectations but be able to work around my allergies anddd put up with another stylist in their chair. Well the search was long arduous to say the least. I originally started seeing Lilian at the first salon she worked but I was still flipping back n forth with working as a stylist still and accepting that I couldn't. When I finally accepted my career ending allergies I had to find Lilian again. I found her here at this cozy little secret hideaway Salon Indah. I went there & girl name Nadine first time did a great job chrarged me, $85 for partial root touch up highlight, then when I went second time, I asked her to match my bleach blonde hair to my dark roots, she colored it instead. It came out red orange color, I did not get a good look right away because the light bulb was partially burned out and It was bad lighting there she charged me $130 for root touch up "WHAT A RIP OFF!!!" I called the next day she refused to do anything about it! I will never go there again messed up my hair and I'm $130 out! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY THERE. I ended up redoing the hair the next day spending more money but not at that salon. read more

I've gone to Charlene for years after she was recommended to me. Because I have been so pleased with her, I have recommended her to others in turn. Even when she is booked, she has managed to work me in. When I originally came, I had long hair; it is now short, and works well for me. Charlene really understands how to make hair do what you want it to do even if your explanation isn't very adequate. During these years she has also done weaves, first just blonde highlights, but now as live aged and want the highlights plus the warmth of color, she weaves in 2 shades. I actually don't have the vocabulary to describe what she does but suffice it to say it looks more like it looked when I was in my teens. You can't go wrong here! read more

Emma knows her stuff my color is always perfect and my cut is amazing, she made my hair have beautiful long layers without cutting to much off.
