I convinced myself it was time to change my hair color so I did research on social media and I found Mirko Vergani at Fabio Scalia salon in Soho. Who is by far the best colorist I've ever worked with. He's exceptionally welcoming and really makes you feel comfortable. He's great at steering the conversation to find the best steps to achieve the desired goal. Secondly, you can book your appointment online in minutes and receive a confirmation of your appointment via email. The salon is beautiful, modern, clean, very bright and full of that good Soho energy. (And an added bonus, they have the best espresso! :) ) Lastly, my hair color is truly the best I've had. Mirko is truly the best and very good at what he does. His eye for color, style, and elegance is by far top-notch. I gave him my ideas of what I was thinking and he utilized his expertise to really elevate the look and let me know what color and undertones would look good on me. And boy, he was 100% right. I've had nothing less than amazing experiences at Fabio Scalia. The entire staff is incredibly warm and accommodating (in all aspects), and I love how intimate and beautiful the salon is. My personal favorite is the chairs that have a foot rest at the washing stations which is very comfortable and relaxing. I'm always able to work from the chair with my laptop, and there's coffee, tea, offered which is lovely! i've been seeing Mirko for years and not only is he kind and wonderful to spend time with, he is an absolute genius and expert with color. He gave me the color I always wanted and wasn't able to achieve. He has an exceptional eye for color that works with clients need complexions with seamless coloring that looks incredibly natural. It's not an exaggeration when I say I've received the most compliments on my hair since seeing Mirko. He is also extremely efficient! I went on December 4th for a consultation and a potential Brazilian blow out with JC. However, I walked away from the experience feeling completely taken advantage of. The hair stylist JC was not transparent during the consultation. I have thick hair, she said that she was comfortable doing my hair. My hair was't washed when she examined it so she saw the state of it and proceeded to have my hair washed by one of her assistance. As I mentioned my hair is thick so you have to know how to wash thick hair. After my wash, JC looked at my hair, and having another opportunity to address the condition of my hair said nothing. I watched as she parted my hair in very small sections to administer the product so there was no way that she didn't see the dandruff. When the work was done I stupidly tipped her $100 paid $525 for the service and brought products for my hair. In total I spent $700.00 at the salon. Here's were it went wrong. I got home that night and looked at my scalp. It was still dirty, and you could see the dandruff through out my entire head; it's like my hair had not been washed. I sent pictures to Fabio the owner and tried to resolve the issue by asking for a partial refund. And based on principal, and the awful service I received at his salon I did not want to return. It was clear to me that JC did not care about my hair or me as a customer. But instead of resolving the issue he made excuses and said that I needed a scalp treatment. This is an absurd excuse, it's the stylist responsibility to be transparent and suggest treatments or other options if it's in fact necessary. JC did not have my best interest in mind. She did not address the dandruff, instead proceeded to put in the Brazilian blow out. I'm guessing because BB cost more and she could make more money. Therefore, doing my hair with no effort or care. Furthermore, as a responsible and honest hairstylist JC could have handled this in one or two ways a) washed my hair herself insuring that it was done properly or b) offered up this supposed treatment that Fabio says I needed during the con which I would have refused and gone to another stylist. In conclusion, I was foolish to trust the integrity of this salon because of the high reviews. I paid a lot of money at this salon and in return I did not get the complete service that I paid for. Fabio is a horrible owner as he allows his stylist to practice deceptive and unprofessional services to customers. read more

Made an appointment on the Internet the day before from Florida based on Eddie's bio only knowing that I wanted/needed to look fabulous for my son's birthday weekend in NYC. Next day, I sat in his chair as he started our consult by asking me what I liked about my hair. I said "nothing." He asked me again. I said the same thing. Then he pulled up a stool, and we went to work. It's been over a year since Ive had any color treatments on my bland pandemic hair. I feel that what you put into your appearance can be an artistic extension of you and an expression of individuality and mood. So to say bland, I definitely mean sad and uninspired. Fortunately I was able to schedule an appointment with my favorite colorist, Mirko. The amount of trust I have in this man is borderline absurd. But here we are. And gratefully that trust is not misplaced. I think Mirko has a keen sense of each person's ideal color while taking into account their hair texture, style, damage, etc, so to find the perfect combination of beauty and manageability. He seems really invested his clients happiness and is so sweet and genuine. Also I deeply appreciate a person who isn't going to lie to me. I had told him about the time I went red and his immediate reaction was "Oh no, not with your complexion!" Uh yeah, it was a disaster which could have been avoided if I had a colorist that was honest and had my back like Mirko. After Mirko gave me some dreamy pale blonde locks with a lavender undertone, I felt both chic and ethereal. Next Nordia cut my hair with such precision. I didn't want to change up my style too much since i've been trying to grow my hair long. Unfortunately the back of my hair grows twice as fast as the front and over time I always end up with a mullet. (no offense to the mullet, just not my thing.) So she managed to clean up all the breakage while maintaining length in front and cleverly cut the back so it will grow out nicely. Exactly what I wanted. First time here and fully enjoyed the experience. I had an early appointment and skipped breakfast in order to make it on-time. The receptionist, Zhina, was incredibly helpful and not only provided me with a menu from a near by deli, but she also signed the check for me and brought the food over so as not to interrupt my service with my stylist, LULU. Yet another fantastic experience! LULU explained everything thoroughly and assured me I was in good hands. Not once was he pushy or forceful. If you're considering Great Length Extensions or are unsure, go see him!! He's also funny and so sweet regardless of whether you're a celebrity or a regular, basic nyc girl like me. =) Fabio is almost always around serving clients himself, as well. So who doesn't want to go to a (2) salon owner that takes his work so serious that he still does work for clients himself? He just did my pre-wedding hair and I couldn't be happier with the results. You know when every now and then you feel like you need a little touch-up? For me it was definitely that time again. I am a natural blonde and got a balayage months ago, which sadly had turned from rosé into yellow. So I needed something fresh, something that complements my look and most importantly something that will still look good in two months. All I can say now is that I am so happy with the highlights, gloss and toner I got from Christina and Lucio.
