Lindsay Weflen has been cutting my hair for the last four years and after every haircut I feel a boost of confidence and gratitude. I have a huge head and by some wizardry she always makes me look like a normal person after each visit. When I first wandered into Lindsay's shop in 2014 I lived two blocks away in Wallingford. Incredibly happy I was referred to visit Lindsay at this salon! Moving to Seattle I was worried about finding a new hair dresser since it has taken me a long time in the past to find someone that does a good job with my hair. My hair is extremely thick, long, wavy, and constantly changing color due to the sun - not an easy task. Lindsay was able to quickly tone and trim my hair while making it look like I had spent $$$ on a baylayage. She was also extremely accommodating, as I was unaware of the horrible Seattle traffic and arrived late. She was nice enough to move around her personal schedule to get my hair done. Lindsay also recommended me to some amazing shampoo and conditioner that have done wonders for my hair. I have never purchased salon products before as I have always found them too expensive. Yet, Lindsay didn't point me in the direction of the highest priced products but the ones that would actually benefit the issues I have with my hair. I did not feel like another commission check as I have felt in the past at previous salons. Mandy is magic. I started going to her a few years back through a groupon and I couldn't believe my luck! Mandy is a great listener and she works to understand what you want. I've come to trust Mandy so much with my hair I sometimes just let her do her own thing and I always love it! I used to get foil highlights with her but I love the balayage look now and she's got this technique down! She always nails the cut. I made a "curl and slice" appointment with Sasha at the last minute after my curly hair specialist at Vain cancelled. At first, I was pretty scared because I have had long hair my entire life and Sasha didn't have curly hair. My fears were completely unwarranted. Sasha was so friendly and knowledgeable. She walked me through the Ouidad process, repeated things to make sure I would remember, and taught me tricks to get my hair looking its best. This is a response to Adrienne Ross's review about Renee at Salon Metro. I pride myself in pleasing my clients to the best of my ability. I apologized at the time, but there seemed to be some sort of miss communication between Adrienne and myself. In my defense of this negative review, she did ask for the exact haircut she received. Cindy Frank is the queen of curly. My hair is inconsistently curly and wavy and never does what its "supposed" to do. Its a tough case. Cindy's cuts are consistently fantastic! Even if I wake up with bedhead, a spritz of water restores it. Her recommended products are great, but even in a pinch, without product, the cut is great, holds its shape, is low maintenance and makes for no bad hair days - which, for my curly head is pretty amazing. Avoid Renee. I went in for a haircut and came out nearly bald. We agreed she would take it up in the back and have it go over the ears. Well, that happened, but she cut so much more than we had agreed and the end result was nearly a buzz cut. She described it as "flattering". I told her it was ugly and that I'd had gotten the same result by putting a bowl on my head and cutting the hair around it. Her response was to shrug and say there was nothing she could do and it looked good to her. I think she simply did what she wanted to do with my hair and assumed I'd love it. She was wrong. My hairstylist of nearly 6 years recently left a large Salon and Spa and moved to Salon Metro. Today was my first visit. Gone is the hurried, bustling and quite frankly loud atmosphere of the bigger box. Here I was given more exclusive, one on one attention from the second I walked in the door. The space is light and natural yet high end. My stylist, Ross Taylor, is by far one of the best in town, and not just because he does great hair. Ross has the ability to truly connect with his clients. He wants to hear what you want and approaches his art with a careful, steady hand and warm, pleasing demeanor. The culture at Salon Metro also allows Ross and the other stylists the freedom to book the appropriate amount of time for your appointment, rather than turn and burn you like other salons do.
