After sifting through hundreds of various salon reviews I decided on this salon. I was in need of a corrected haircut and I went with Jacquita. It was a great choice, as she is quite nuanced and knew based on my hair type (course, wiry, curly, wavy, and incredibly thick) and what I wished to achieve, clearly understood what techniques would be required for the desired outcome. While creative vision is very important, technical expertise, communication and good planning are equally as such. While the experience was completely positive I will say they we not wearing masks, I was okay with this but had I not been vaccinated I may have thought twice and possibly gone elsewhere. Just something to keep in mind from a business perspective. In any event, I will continue seeing Jacquita for what I can hope is many years to come. read more

I scheduled for a cut. The woman I was scheduled with was late. Then, sitting down, instead of asking about how I wanted my hair cut, she held my ends up and asked when we would be doing something "about this". She was referencing my color. I have 3 different colors in my hair on purpose. It was insulting because I've had my color like this for 3 years and nobody ever made it sound so horrific. She then asked if I wanted a shampoo and then said "well we will do it anyway to give you an experience." She shampooed my hair for 2 minutes and then spent 15 minutes cutting. I would spend the same amount of money in another salon without the insults and would have left with an actual cut. She did not touch my bangs, which did need a trim. Everyone else working here seemed amazing. Not unhappy like my stylist. I saw some great color getting done in the time I was waiting for my stylist to arrive. Just moved to AZ in March and found Salon Orozco on Yelp. I was fortunate enough to have a cut and color completed by Melinda. Salon was clean and very modern looking, very welcoming. Melinda was pleasant, wore a mask, took her time and most importantly she really listened to what I wanted. I walked in with Quarantine hair for sure...my hair looked like a hot mess. After almost three hours in the salon and trying to hold my mask on as I found out my beautician had not had any shots. No one in the salon had a mask on. I had a picture of hair the color I wanted and showed it to her not anywhere near the color. I hated it and bought a stripper after spending 200 on a color almost black after getting in the Sun I could have screamed. She must have been new but really the owner was there he could have pulled her aside and told her it looked awful. Anyone could have seen it. I'm not much on confrontation so I could not come back and tell her. A lesson learned. I won't recommend or be back. More supervision would help. read more

Thankful for all of the great reviews! Recently moved from New York to Arizona in Nov - previously with the same hair salon for 10 years. After two months of asking for referrals and reading yelp reviews, I was won over by Salon Orozco. Jason, the owner, was quick to respond to my yelp inquiry, and scheduled a root touchup within a week. The Salon is spacious, bright, beautiful and very welcoming. The staff is warm, friendly and listens to what you want. Within minutes of chatting, I felt 100% confident in Jason. He is personable, takes pride in his work and talented! Truly the best customer service and hair color/cut/styling I have ever experienced. My husband was quite impressed with the end result. So thankful to find Salon Orozco. I sent a message via Yelp on a Sunday evening expecting no response until the next business day. The owner responded very promptly and had Christina contact me the following day, which technically they were closed. I was extremely impressed from the beginning and let me tell you after meeting with her and getting my hair cut, I will not go anywhere else. The salon itself is very clean, everybody was very friendly, the prices are reasonable and I am extremely satisfied!! Highly recommend the salon and Christina. I got the opportunity to chat with Chloe briefly regarding extensions and she was very friendly as well. I was anxious to visit a salon with great ratings. We are new residents to the area, but felt good after reading the reviews. For me, when I visit a salon, I expect to walk out feeling glamourous and pampered. But instead when I left, I did feel better about getting my roots touched up and a 1/2 inch trim to shape up my ends, but was floored when the tab was $110, which I then tacked on a generous 20% tip. I walked out looking worse than I walked in, minus the gray. The stylist did only the bare minimum. No extras, no curl, not even a shot of hair spray until I asked for it. Afterwards, I was looking forward to visit the area shops and look for items for our new home. Instead, I went straight home and brushed my hair back in a pony tail and crashed on the couch in tears. $130 wasted. I won't be back. read more

I've been here twice, the first time I got a balayage and really loved everything about it. It looked so natural and grew out beautifully. I moved away for a few months and recently went back since I was in town. This time I received a basic haircut- I needed some length off and some shaping around the face. I have had some pretty bad haircuts in the last few years and I have been trying to grow out some random short pieces that were left by previous stylists at other salons. My stylist was really nice, and she curled my hair at the end which hid the imperfections I see now. After about a week and wearing my hair straight, it looks awful every day. The angling around my face is not even when parted in the middle (how it was cut) and all the pieces around my face look choppy and uneven. The weird short pieces (my hair in front of my ears) were cut short again. Her method was taking the scissors and ripping my hair downwards. I've had another stylist just cut the face framing pieces by pulling it across the face and layering them and it caused way less damage and choppiness. I'm pretty unsatisfied with this and bummed because it's just another style I'll have to grow out again. I don't know anything about cutting hair, and my stylist was really kind and fun, but I'm just let down with this cut, especially after having such a good experience the first time. read more

After a tragic hack job of a haircut from a cheap salon (you get what you pay for), I was desperate to get my hair fixed and evened out. I messaged Salon Orozco via Yelp and they got back to me quickly, stating that they could fit me in. Thank god, I was on the road to recovery! My appointment was with Christina. She had a lovely, calm energy and listened to my concerns. I had already taken 2 inches off with my previous haircut, but it was bulky and blunt- there was no movement to my hair. I requested to keep the length, but to add long layers and to correct the face framing layers I had previously gotten. Or, tried to get. Christina made me feel pampered as she washed, cut, blow dried, and cut some more hair. The end result was gorgeous, long locks with beautiful layers. This was exactly what I was hoping for the first time around! I am glad, however, to have had the opportunity to go to Salon Orozco and to meet Christina. The salon was clean and very chic. He asked for his sides cut and she did such a horrible job!!! There are still chunks of hair on the back. We always go here for our hair and have never had an issue.
