This salon is wonderful and sells great products such as Kevin Murphy and the Moroccan Oil brand. Most importantly, Jessica is amazing! We moved to SD from LA and I was referred to the salon. When I called and explained my hair they patched me up with Jessica and truly my color has never been better, my hair is in great shape, and I literally get more compliments on my hair now than ever before. This salon is obviously not looking for new clients. Very disappointed in the lack of customer service provided to me. I was referred to the salon by one of their regulars and unfortunately that stylist was booked - the receptionist stated she'd check the other stylists books and would call me back. No call. People get busy, I understand, so I called back to inquiry and the lady was very rude. Apparently they are TOO BOOKED for new clients and NO ONE has time in their schedule for a color correction. Nor could she quote me over the phone - apparently I couldn't "afford" it even though I had never stepped foot in the salon and the stylists know nothing about me. She referred me to Google or Yelp for another stylist who has time. I've never seen a word-of-mouth business treat referrals so horribly. read more

Shauna is an expert at her craft, and runs Salon Sultry, which has a relaxed and airy ambiance. A friend who has been going to Shauna for 11 years highly recommended her, and I'm so grateful. Shauna attentively listened to me on both visits, and gave me a beautiful cut and gorgeous blond highlights and lowlights. Even after three months, my color still looked great! She made my limp, fine hair look voluminous, and taught me how to use a curling iron to make the loose waves in a photo I showed her. Gabby is the best! I'm super terrible at explaining what I want when It comes to my hair but she always understands perfectly and gives me amazing color and cuts! I book appointments left and right with that girl and she always can get me in for an appointment. This business is superb, and all the high volume positive-reviews on here definitely help reflect that, because I can hardly say enough good things about Salon Sultry which hasn't been already said! The staff has always been sincerely warm and attentive, the salon itself is neat and clean, and I've always left satisfied. My first experience with Salon Sultry was spring 2013. I had just gotten a botched haircut from Super Cuts (she gave me a straight-up mullet!), and after reading all the good reviews on here, I spontaneously decided to walk into this place since I was nearby and see if I couldn't at least get a consultation for any possibilities to make the damage a little more tolerable -- other than chopping off all of my hip-length hair. I was immediately received by Scarlet. I told her the situation, she fiddled around with my hair a bit to inspect what she was dealing with, and even tried snipping pieces here-and-there to see what she could do -- at NO charge. Even though she did more than what I could ever hope, a month later I could stand the mullet no longer. I scheduled an appointment with her specifically to lop off that "Red Neck Rat-Tail of Sadness" and go super short (à la 1990's Natalie Ibruglia). I was bummed to bid my long locks farewell, but she did an absolutely STELLAR job! I've had two touch-ups done since by one other stylist there besides Scarlet (I believe it was Jessica, but I'm not certain) and can truly say that all of the staff I've ever personally interacted with have been amazing. I adore this place. This salon is admittedly a tad pricey for my budget, but I believe it is well worth it. In fact, I was never so reminded of this until I made the horrible mistake last Saturday of going to a salon at the mall for a hair treatment because it was cheaper there, and I now severely regret it. Oh Salon Sultry! I love you! I heard about this salon through a friend. I had never been to a "fancy" salon and needed a wedding hair stylist and make-up artist. I found Jen Phomphakdy and Nicole Kiem. They were a fantastic team for my wedding (Jen/hair, Nicole/make-up). Great prices for the trials and for the wedding day. Girls arrived on time, professional and fast. They got us all done and ready to go with time to spare. A brides dream! They did exactly what I wanted, but improved upon the looks I wanted! Suggested things that were tasteful and looked great in pictures. Since my wedding last August 2013, I have not gone to any other salon. I had my first ever professional hair dye done and loved it. Jen Phomphakdy ended up moving to Florida (for the time being, but she might be back!) Luckily the multi-talented Nicole Kiem also does hair! Nicole recently gave me one of the best haircuts I have ever had, I get compliments all the time (A-line bob with bangs). I Love Casey Rae for so many reasons; Let me count her 5 Star ways.... (1) She doesn't double book her apts, so she is always on time and my apt always finishes on time. (2) I have thin fine fuzzy hair, all other stylists have told me I have to keep it short, not Casey, she has never given up on my dream of long hair. And it is the longest it has been in a while. (3) She is a master with color. When I want bright colors (blue, purple, red) she has spent up to 4 hours perfecting the color. I've been looking for a hairdresser ever since another hair dresser jacked up my hair, leaving me with black roots and brassy red ends (her idea of an ombre) my long curly hair broke off underneath leaving me with thick hair on top and thin hair on bottom.
