It was our first time ordering from Sal's the other night. We got 2 Chicago deep dish pizzas one meat lovers and one steak and they both came with the pizza savers upside down and when pulled out took the topping with it, mangling the pizzas. Somebody new over there? The spacers are suppose to be flat side up. Needless to say one person got stabbed in the mouth because they didn't see it there. Do better Sal's.... The pizza was tasty however it's not anything like Chicago deep dish. Far to much dough. It was like eating pizza and the having a leftover french bread roll after words. Seriously, I could have made a hoagie for 8 people out of the crusts. I know you can't make Chicago pizza in Florida because of the humidity and the difference in the water but to call this Chicago pizza is an insult to Chicago. I've lived in Florida, from NJ, since 1980 and I've found it hard to find genuine New York pizza here. I've made my own since 1985. I've been burned by many so-called New York style pizza joints. I tried Sal's because they sell by the slice and I don't like to pay for a whole pizza and then be disappointed. Honestly, the pizza was pretty good and almost replicates real NY pizza. The crust was very good. I would consider going back. On the other hand, I'm very satisfied with my own homemade pizza considering that my 16" pizza loaded with pepperoni and mushrooms cost me $3 to make. read more

Just ordered Sals Pizza our bruschetta was terrible, the bread was barely toasted and the tomatoes weren't even on The bread it was just bad. The garlic knots are hard on the top just wasn't great. I don't know who is cooking tonight but it's just not that great. We have had better from them. read more

What a disappointment! What a disgrace! What a total shameful embarrassment to the Italian people!!! My family and decided to give it a try ( if only we knew!). We entered the place and it was empty, but since it was around 2:30ish we thought it was passed lunchtime rush, so we sat down and ordered a cheese pizza, a pepperoni pizza, a penne pulcinella , some garlic rolls and a pasta fagioli soup. Tables were very sticky, lack of cleanliness there! The table where we were it was formed of square tables uneven, no one table was equal, it looked like an unpaved and uneven road. In fact, when the drinks arrived almost all of them spilled out on the tables. Pizzas arrived and besides been burned on the bottoms ( burned with filthiest oven burns, because, if it had been a wood burn burn it would have been delicious, but it was filthy by lack of cleaning the oven!) they had no taste at all! How can you messed up a pizza? I tell you how, by not putting the right spices on it, they lacked of salt, of flavors they were totally bland! Let me continue with the penne pulcinella, a joke by itself, it was watery, with a funny taste and no seasoning at all! But it gets better! At the time of the soup, the only taste it had was the one of a tap water, which obviously was the main and only ingredient, you could see it was mainly water. Oh, and the garlic rolls were as hard as a rock. You could have slammed those rolls on the walls and you would have needed to call someone to fix those walls. And let me tell you about the guy that managed/ owner this place! He was grumpy, unfriendly, and with the will to do nothing! I just don't understand why people even bothered to give 3 stars since they don't deserve not even one. And most of all, why are they lying giving good reviews about a place that is not good at all! I will definitely never recommend this place ever! What a shame for the entire Italian Country, heck, in this case it's probably the entire hemisphere!!! I don't usually do this but I had to in this case. I ordered a "large" calzone with a few extras. It cost $30 dollars. It gets delivered and a cut a piece at the end it was all bread no filling I cut some more all bread. At least a 3rd of this "large" calzone was just bread. I've included a picture. Wow i Never give a poor review but... went in place looked filthy .. toilet didnt flush .. NO water running in the sink so could not wash hands . was offered sanitizers told the water was shut off . How were they washing thier hands ? Were seated in a room off to the side with an old organ and some tables. salad came what a joke some iceberg a few pieces of tomato and Runny dressing . meals arrived Lobster ravioli was inedible too hard to cut through and drenched in a sauce that saturated into the pasta . Seemed like it was sitting in that in a fridge and was heated . Chicken parm LOOKED as i liked it thin and crispy looking w dark edges however ( and i do like alot of sauce) ... the sauce was super sweet which i could live with but it also tasted BAD as in like garbage as in OLD and rancid . it was after thanksgiving i aksed the waitress when it was made she said shed been on vacation for a week or so and didnt know.. i could Not eat my meal . While it had Alot of cheese and tons of this sauce that made the person with me GAG when she tasted it .. i was not even able to eat it .. at first the waitress said they would not give us credit .. then the Unkempt cook came out and with an attitude ( i said cut into the ravioli) to which he stuck the fork into the center and i said No cut trhough the side .. he could not . I then told him the sauce tasted old , bad and asked when it was made he then took our check and like threw it up and waved his arm down . i was so taken aback .. the people working there all but a coupld of watresses looked like they sleep in thier clothes and dont bathe. We were then offered tiramisu by a lovely woman who says she makes it herself i believe and that was very good and fresh . we took that to go and paid for it . My stomach hurt after tasting the sauce and the few bites i had of the meal before i realized that the place need to be inspected asap . I Never give Bad reviews because i know businesses try hard .. this place Does not try hard . Sloppy and dangerous feeding people food that is not fresh . Look at the photos submitted do they look fresh ? I hope they clean themselves up and thier place as well and dont feed people stuff that can make them sick. Best pizza in Florida. This is real pizza, properly baked. The only thing holding me back from 5 stars is that they are skimpy with their ingredients even if you order double pepperoni it isn't uncommon to find a slice without a piece of pepperoni on it. I made an order to have delivered to my home for dinner. The delivery time was decent, about 30 minutes, and the delivery driver was pleasant, but the food was horrible. I ordered a Chicken Parm Dinner that came with a salad and bread and I ordered a dessert of chocolate cake. The chicken was baked to a crisp, the cheese literally tasted like rubber bands, the bread was half baked and doughy and the chocolate cake was so dry it was falling apart into crumbs. I will never order anything from this place again. A can of ravioli, from the microwave, would have been more satisfying than this meal was. read more

I'm seeing all these bad reviews but there from like a year ago or a few years ago and I don't know about their experience but when my family and I always go we always get treated good and we always love the food. Yes it is hot in there but my family and I have gotten used to it because we go pretty often and yeah I'll admit sometimes the pizza can be a little bit burned at the bottom but that doesn't change the flavor for us we still love the pizza we always get the XL pizza when we go there and some other stuff but overall the manger or the person who owns the place when he sees us he always greets us and is friendly to us I used to always get this one paste he had and one time he changed it and i didn't like how he changed it and when he saw that he's like I can make it the old way for you and I was like thank you so much but eventually he took that paste out of the menu so I stopped getting it and started getting garlic Parmesan wings which they are so good. But like I said I don't know what happened to the people who left bad reviews a year ago but all I know is that you should come try it now and see if it changes your mind if it doesn't well then it's okay not everyone likes every restaurant other people like. I ordered a Chicago deep dish supreme via Uber Eats and it clearly stated Supreme! Upon getting the pizza I got one with just pepperoni , cheese and mushrooms. I called to see what happened and was rudely told to deal with Uber Eats yet I'm sure Sals is the one that made the order. I like the taste of this pizza, the thickness is thinner, which suits me, since I don't prefer thicker pizza. It's not swimming in sauce, but, has right amount of it and I taste good old Italian oregano. I like crust and it's good for me. Is it the best pizza ever? That's an individual choice, because there's wide spectrum of taste buds out there. I like it and it feeds my occasional pizza craving when I'm near Auburndale downtown. Ordered a tuna melt. She asked if hot or cold. A melt means hot- so I said hot. It came out on a hoagie roll that crumbled when I grabbed it. It was lightly warmed. The tomato and lettuce on it was ice cold. The onions on it were in chunks of onion, nothing close to a slice. Sent it back. They have a large menu with several different pizza options, Sicilian, NY, Chicago, Deep dish, probably more. The menu doesn't explain the difference, so if you aren't already familiar, look them up. We have tried the NY and Sicilian. We got a variety of pizzas on two different occasions for family get togethers and we were disappointed both times. I would give them 0 stars if I could for that pathetic excuse of what they call a pizza. First off it arrived on time which was great until we opened the box to see this burned piece of bread with sauce so burnt it didn't even move. We attempted a bite and realized the pizza sauce was also smothered in oregano. It tasted like you were eating a day old burnt piece of toast with marinara dipping sauce. Not to mention the thing had literally no cheese or if it did it got disintegrated into nothing. Never again. After doing some looking around, I decided to try this place. It was cheap, they were running a special on an xl meat lovers for $16.95, and I ordered from the Slyce app and saved another $3. Drove 20 mins to get it and was in love with the smell the whole way home...then was a little disappointed. I also ordered garlic knots and bruschetta, the knots were okay, they swam in butter (which, butter is great!! But, they were all hanging out in a wading pool of butter). The bruschetta was just sliced bread with raw cut up tomatoes thrown on and just a little cheese. I actually ended up throwing it all in the oven to toast the bread. And that was $7.95. Lots of tomatoes though if you like tomatoes. The pizza was huuuge and decent, but a little tough and not much sauce. It's too bad, I was really excited to try this place. I wouldn't say it's the worst, but it wasn't the greatest either. I'm giving it 3 stars for the price though, it'll do if you're looking for a huge pizza for $16.95, at least for as long as they run the deal. read more
