The pizza was tasty but unfortunately a soggy bottom. Slices had to be eaten with a fork and I like to be able to hold my pizza.

Great service, great pizza. My bf and I stopped by on our way back from the casino. I eat gluten free and their gluten free pizza was fantastic! Only comes in a mini size, but a great portion for a meal. We split a salad. Their ranch is delicious- it's homemade. A little punchy with some garlic flavor, I think it was. You can tell they use quality ingredients! Would definitely recommend. It's on the pricer side, and they charge $3 extra for the gluten free crust. UPDATE: I received a reply to my previous review, and I have to say that I am sort of overwhelmed. Alyx responded with an apology that was, by all appearances, sincere and straight-up. They told me that, had they known how I had felt, they would never have taken the money I had gone back to pay them. They even offered to have me come down to the shop so that they could fully reimburse me for the cost of the pizza...and if I did not want to come back in, then they'd put a check in the mail. That is awesome, that is how a business should be; they should care about the customer's satisfaction, and clearly Sal's does. For that reply that I got from them, I'd give them 5 stars for customer service. They reply to their customer's complaints, and they try to make it right. They claim to be working on the problems that I previously stated, but it may still be awhile before I go back. I would love to go back and try something different, but I want it to be consistent. I do not want to go there, order the same thing each time, and receive a different taste each time. Thank you for the reply, Alyx, I really do appreciate it. We got a pizza, calzone and chicken parm. The food was pretty good, service is great and the place has a clean and friendly vibe. I love that they serve sauce with their calzone, only thing is I would recommend they heat the sauce and add a little garlic and seasoning to it. We used to love this place and ate there frequently,but their takeout is AWFUL. They don't care!!! We ordered a mushroom onion pizza and two side salads NO BEETS ( Hubby hates beets) with ranch. They said 25 minutes. So my husband shows up in thirty minutes and they hadn't even started the pizza! So he waits for the pizza and when he picks up the salads they are covered in beets. They try to pick them off ( no way make new salads!) and when he gets home, the ranch dressing we asked for several times for is caesar and the onions on the pizza are RAW. BTW the salad is so peppery they were inedible. They weren't even busy. This is not the first time they have screwed up our takeout order but it's definitely the LAST as we are never going back. Love it when a great restaurant comes to Cotati! Sal's will definitely be a staple for us. The crust has a firm tear with a soft center, the ingredients are top notch and the Cesar salad was great with enough garlic to let you know it is there, but doesn't keep everyone away. I got to Sal's before closing tonight and asked if they had any slices available but to my dismay the answer was no. My next choice was a Chicken Parm sandwich or hero as I like to call them. I was told it wasn't too late to order it but that it was going to have to be a to go order. I was very hungry and didn't want to eat it in my car but I got it any way. I waited till I got home, 25 minute ride, and did a few things before I took my first bite. I moved to Sonoma County in 2010 after living in NY for 48 years and that bite was just about the most welcome and satisfying taste I've had in years. Thank you Sal for opening up a restaurant that makes Italian the way, in my opinion, it's supposed to taste. I was dancing while I savored every bite. Pretty good Pizza. Good service, fast, and polite. The place has a real NY pizzeria feel to it but the pizza is only similar to NY pizza. Sal's pizza dough is just a little too hard to be NY pizza. I'm a bit of a NY pizza snob though so that's just me. read more

We live just around the corner from Sal's and love it EVERY SINGLE TIME!!! Consistent quality and deliciousness. The ingredients are super fresh, the crust is light and crunchy and perfectly cooked. The meat pizzas are a little oily, but that's ok because that's how you know it's fresh! The Caesar is one of the best we've ever had, I love the amount of garlic they put in all their foods. We checked in on Yelp and got a free dessert with $20 purchase. The brownie had a swirl of peanut butter on top, and it was rich and gooey! LOVE this place!!!! read more

Ordered large combo today for pick up at lunch, it was delicious, staff was friendly and extremely courteous, the only bad thing was, the box leaked on the seat of my car, luckily it leaked on a hat, which I was able to wash, however, there shouldn't be that much running liquid in the box, not only was the pie a bit soggy in the center, like I said, it was so much, it leaked, they should find a solution to this problem ASAP, that said, the pizza itself, other than the center being soggy, was definitely one of the best combo we've had, thank you Sal's! read more

Someone from New Jersey told me this place was the closest to east side pizza. Many of my friends from the east coast tell me that mombos is the closest to their pizza but the sauce is better tasting at sals, and the crust isn't as hollow and doesn't crack apart. We ordered a pizza tonight--pepperoni pizza with extra sauce cooked well done. Our usual order. The pizza gets here with no pizza sauce whatsoever. This is the third time they have screwed up a simple delivery order. Not sure why they can't get it right on their delivery orders. Worst pizza I have ever seen. This is now my favorite pizza place in Rohnert Park. I love New York style pizza, and this place does a great job of balancing flavors. I love that the olives aren't the bland, boring olives that usually exist on pizza. A few tips: This is a small place, so hours are slightly limited, especially late at night. If you want pizza after 8 or 9, you might need to go elsewhere. And expect delivery to take a while, around 45 minutes. I would love it if they offered a few other toppings (prosciutto, capers, roasted garlic). But I love that they have eggplant and linguica, and their meatballs are more flavorful than what I've had elsewhere. read more

This is one of my favorite pizzerias in town. I absolutely love the crust. It's perfecto, not thick and doughy like most places. The wings and the ranch dressing is my favorite around.
