I have to say I'm disappointed with the quality of my pickup order which isn't normally the case. I used my points for a free entree and added guacamole which I had to pay extra for. After I left I realized there was no guacamole or sour cream that I asked for. I also asked for utensils and they forgot to add them. read more

It pains me to give a poor review here because I have enjoyed this location for years and I feel a little funny making my first assessment a negative one. However, when you see a rat scurrying by you and hiding under one of the exposed trash cans, this is impossible to ignore. You might wonder why I didn't bring it to the attention of the staff and the reason is because there was a trap right between the trash can and the door, so clearly this is something they're aware of. I managed to finish my meal, but I could hardly say that I enjoyed it. I'm not unrealistic. I recognize that restaurants have to deal with such problems and that they're a reality. However, I recall back in my days of working in the pastry business when a restaurant owner told me that it's his job to keep vermin away from the food preparation area and away from the customers. I agree. I wonder if having exposed trash containers is even in keeping with state health code. I would think that it isn't. I have two rules regarding restaurants that I've gone by for many years, both relating to hygiene. The first is that I don't trust any place that has a filthy bathroom. If they have no pride in the place that they know I can see and inspect, I have to doubt the cleanliness of the kitchen, which is kept from my eyes. The second rule is that if I'm seeing one rat, chances are it's not solitary. There's not much else to say, I suppose other than that I have no agenda here. I neither want, nor would I accept if offered, any restitution for my food. I just hope that they get this issue under control and that they do so quickly, both for their benefit and for that of their customers. In the meantime, other Yelpers can decide what to do with the information I have provided. read more

The problem with this kind of model is that the employees operate in an environment where the customer literally points to what they want in front of the face of the employee. Follow the finger. Repeat. As such, you get what you want and you are satisfied almost 100% of the time. The food is good. It's hard to mess up a burrito you supervised, unless you're an awful supervisor. That's on you. The problems arise when you throw a wrench in the machine by ORDERING via a food delivery app. Then the employees have to read, understand and operate without the "finger of God." I would say my orders are correct 60 percent of the time. Missing avocado, no salsa, no rice, missing beverages, etc. Don't break their brains. Go. Don't order and you'll be fine. read more

My buffalo chicken quesadilla was kinda pricey at $7.95, and while it was ok, it pales in comparison to the food truck down the road (Put Some Meat on Your Bones) for two bucks less. I wanted so badly to like the place better than Chipotle. The higher prices made it difficult for me to overlook things like a small portion of chips and tiny container of salsa, and the fact that the burrito just didn't have enough protein in it. If you're going to charge $11 for a burrito I'll still pay it if it's big and full of protein, but if it's not I'll continue to go to Chipotle or Moe's and never look back. read more

The employees aren't the hardest working people on earth. I hate asking for utensils because they don't have any out to grab but 3 out of 4 times I've had to ask. I'm a fan of this chain. Had the Red Hot Acapulco minus the jalapeños. It is a delicious burrito. Love the complimentary chips but I can't stand the soda they offer. It's not Coke or Pepsi. Waste of time and money. At this point, working in Peekskill I get food from here once every couple of weeks as it's one of the only things really in the area and I don't think I've ever gotten what I actually ordered. Or if I did I only take about 3 bites before throwing it out cause it just doesn't taste good. At this point, its worth to make the 20 minute drive to the Salsa Fresca in Yorktown. The workers don't want to be there and I've never once seen a "manager" in there to try and rectify a problem or at least give me my money back. I walk in and it reminds me of Chipotle...pretty much same setup...so I like the it already...cuz I'm a big fan of Chipotle... while very nice...the guy gave me 2 half scoops of rice at the bottom of the container...no good in my opinion....plus the rice was under cook...then when i was at second server....and I ask if she could put another scoop of rice from the new container and she did no question asked!!! Amazing hospitality! I'm from Long Island, I'm not sure if everyone upstate is just extremely friendly but the staff yesterday made our experience soooo enjoyable! I do not generally eat any fast food of any kind, but i was sick of ordering chinese and there isn't alot of take out choices around so we decided to try salsa fresca. it is close to my home and looked very clean. so we had tacos and i am gluton free so i ordered a bowl with chicken. we tried to order online but it didn't go through so when we went to pick it up it wasn't ready - not their fault the software didn't work. so they made it while we waited and the service was super friendly and they were very helpful since it was our first time there. the food was really fresh, the chicken pieces in the bowl could be bigger, but overall we were pleasantly surprised and would definitely go back again. read more

I thought it time to update my original review. I'm glad to see that they have worked out the earlier start up kinks. I've made several visits over the past few months and I have noticed a few nice improvements. The staff seem more confident and capable, not counting the number of beans going in a dish being a bit more generous with the servings. Actually in a recent visit the young server stuffed my burrito so full it split apart! He was going to make me a new one but rather than waste the food, I had him put it in a dish and ate it with a fork and knife. I'm hoping the restaurant continues to thrive. After I gave a poor review, the regional manager Matt contacted me personally. He was polite and courteous and resolved the issue very quickly. The food in this place is great, fresh and not bulk transported like chipotle. The different salsas are delicious. They offered to buy my next meal (which was unnecessary, but the right thing to do). All customers want is fresh, good quality food and polite staff. That s all! I totally understand that a lot if customers are rude, but the majority aren't. Definitely be back! read more
