a burrito and guacamole

In town for a soccer tournament and found it on Yelp. Outstanding food and cocktails. Carnitas Burrito was very flavorful. The Chicken Torta was just outstanding.

So the wait was a little long to get our food but it was well worth it! My grandma ordered the chille relleno and she really liked it, which is great since she's really picky and being Mexican herself she always has something to say about Mexican cuisine. A lot of restaurants don't use the right cheese but this one does and the salsa was delicious as well. I ordered tacos al pastor and the flavor was phenomenal, I just wish the salsa was a bit spicier but it was good overall. Their cemita de milanesa de rez was *chefs kiss* wow, not only was it HUGE, the frijoles, the breading, the queso, it was the best cemita I have ever had. I can't wait to go back!

Beans, rice and veggie burrito.

Just drove 25 mins to grab take out and ordered a carne asada burrito. They gave me a burrito with beans, veggies and rice. NO MEAT. I paid $15 for beans, rice and veggies. Gross

We saw a large number of people doing takeout, especially pizzas and ice cream to go. We did not try these items, but they seem to be very popular. The clam strips were perfectly fried. Not greasy. The batter was flavorful. The portions were great for the price. We felt like we got a really good value. The coleslaw and the tartar sauce tasted homemade, which was a super bonus. The coleslaw was balanced with a hint of pickle. The tartar sauce was very dill forward and lemony, which we liked. The lobster roll was very good. You have not lived life until trying a lobster roll on the east coast. And this one was perfect. Everything was hot and an appropriate temperature. Perfect balance of flavor with good chunks of lobster. I saw the chef melting the garlic and the butter for the garlic knots. Everything is made fresh to order. I would've happily waited twice as long for the quality of food that we received. It was great! This is such a hidden gym. We are definitely coming back.

I'm not sure if it was the turkey itself that was so salty, or if the salt was added in post, but I think they may want to taste the product and reevaluate. Would have given 4 stars if not for the salt, and 5 stars if not for the grease. So close to being great!

However, inside the brewery, every table had their menu. Our first round of ordering included maduros, tostones, and papitas. The tostones and papitas were very good, the fries were crisped nicely. And the chipotle sauce that went with the tostados was had a nice zing to it. Enjoying these, we ended up order a second round. We tried three empanadas (the cheeseburger, the Sweet Flame, and the Roasted Green) and the popcorn shrimp special. The Brussels sprouts in the Roasted Green empanada were delicious, cooked and flavored well; the Sweet Flame has cajun chicken, cheese, and mango habanero sauce. All the empanadas were filled greatly and not too doughy. The shrimp were cooked to a golden crisp with a very tasty sauce that tasted like a sweet chili glaze. Overall, enjoyable and would try again.

I purchased the Sausage, and Chicken empanadas with a side of the yucca fries. Spicy, flavorful, delicious! Love the sauces too, a chipotle mayo, and a mango sauce. The lady running they truck ( I WILL get her name next time!) was super sweet and a pleasure to talk to. I hear they are stationed by Tweed, but I hope they are at Counter Weight again! I will make sure to stop by.

Kronfeld is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America with over 20 years of experience in the restaurant business. Some of the restaurants he worked at over the years include Bobby's Burger Palace at Mohegan Sun Casino and the kitchen at the Omni Hotel in New Haven. Miller dabbles as an amateur cook while working from home as a campus recruiting consultant. The couple's mission is to give customers a gourmet restaurant experience right on the street or from the comfort of their own homes. This past weekend was the wedding of my brother and sister-in-law at Stewards of the Land Brewery in Northford. It just so happens that they booked the Chef Truck to provide the food for the reception. I had previously sampled some of Chef John's delicious food when I attended an exclusive 'Foodie Influencer' event a few months back at the same brewery. I was not disappointed then and I certainly wasn't this time. The first course featured an Autumn Salad (salad greens, sliced apples, gorgonzola, pancetta) and bowls of Pumpkin Bisque. Both dishes really hit the spot. The next course featured Chicken n' Waffles, Mac n' Cheese Fritters, and Cheese-stuffed Squash Blossoms. Everything was perfect! The final course was served buffet style and included the "Mississippi Mac Attack" (slow-cooked pulled pork over Mac n' Cheese with Scallions) and "General Tso's Chickpeas" (crispy chickpeas, tofu & broccoli tossed in sweet & spicy sauce over jasmine rice). Everything was so flavorful. I think that the second course may have been my favorite. Another great culinary experience from Chef John! If you happen to see the Chef Truck parked at your favorite brewery or winery in New Haven County then you won't be disappointed!
