So, this location has mo ambiance but what it does have id a wonderfully helpful staff and fabulous good. We tried all three items on the value meal board and a chorizo burrito.Needless to say it was way too much food for just 2 people, do we brought home the leftovers and enjoyed 2 more meals. Longtime fan of this place, but is anyone else noticing, as the prices go up, the amount of chicken in the grilled chicken burrito goes down? I understand it's under new ownership. Does that mean new recipes too? Call it what it is, a rice and beans burrito, with a pinch of chicken. Delicious, but expensive. And not what's listed on the menu. One more thing: The "customer service" - you walk in, pay, and they point to your bag waiting in the cue. I'm not door dash, I'm a loyal customer. Order food on New Year's Eve through their website. Paid $27 I went to go pick it up. It was closed. Thought because we didn't pick it up we wouldn't be charged the $27. Our bank statement came in and we would charged, called the store and they are refusing to refund the money because we called almost 30 days later and not within a couple of days. They'd offered us for $27 gift card. Why would I want to go back to a store that is refusing to refund $27 for services not rendered, meaning food was never given? I'd be very leery of ordering or eating there from now on. read more

I most often stop in for their guacamole when I'm going to someone's house. That's what I did today. For $10 today I got an extra large container of guacamole and a generous portion of chips. It is always a big hit. Food is always fast. Prices are reasonable. There are a few tables and a counter along the window to eat. There are quit a few gluten free options. Decided to go today because used to order from them many times a while ago. Looked forward to the Yuka Fries that were homemade, to my surprise they were frozen and mass produced. I went back in and ask why, apparently the brother bought the business. Never change anything that was a hit, consistency is a the key to keep the customer. This is my second time here. I want to really love the place because the people are so nice & the food fresh. Buuuuuttt.....,the flavor is just meh. The first time I came I got the beef burrito enchilada style. The beef was flavorful but the sauce was bland. It looked amazing though. Kinda deceiving. Today I got regular ground beef hard tacos & an afterthought, pork Empanada for$3.25. Tacos could've been good but the meat was dry & had no flavor. And the lettuce was red leaf lettuce so it wasn't crisp. I like crisp lettuce on my Americanized tacos. The saving grace was the afterthought. The pork Empanada. Made to order it actually was stuffed with roasted pork & cheese. Now THIS I would come back for. Maybe I needed to order pork tacos. Hmmmmm....... Maybe another time. Driving past and noticing the small yet vibrant shack-like building off the side of Montauk Highway, I thought to myself, "maybe I'll give that a try one day." Every time I passed it, I said the same thing; and for about a year I told myself it probably isn't good. Thanks to a friend recommending it, and another friend inviting me one night, I decided to check my theory on how good, or not so good, Avocados is. Man, was I wrong, and I plan on "punishing myself" by going back at least bi-weekly. Friendly guys serving great food, and although I wanted a burrito and a drink for under 10 bux, $10.21 was alright, because when I got my burrito, I tried awfully hard to devour the massive thing. On that note, I highly recommend the "John Burrito;" it is out of this world good. I couldnt wait to have more, and knew I would be going back soon. This is now a regular spot for me as the food is as great as the friendly staff. Over the years I've gotten a wrong order here n there and it's always so darn hot inside, flies tend to be in the dining room which is hella-off putting but the food is still pretty great. Don't get hard shell tacos to go, they will be mushy, hell so will the soft shells. It's a very Americanized shop but there are a few great finds. The lunch deal is what you want, it cuts the price nearly in half and comes with a drink. Could they do a few things better? Sure, but they do what they do well. What's makes our opinions and taste better than the next guys? For their style they are great and that's all anyone should be, great at what they do. read more

My boyfriend raved about this place from his previous experience so he finally convinced me to try it. I ordered the lunch special chicken taco salad and a piece of tres leche cake. They only have one guy working here who makes the food and rings you up but he was really friendly and patient. To me this place is just meh. The taco salad had lettuce greens that I am not a fan of and the chicken was pretty dry. The tres leche cake however was delicious and well worth the money spent. We have eaten here often over the years and never had a bad experience. Until now because of terrible service. We also don't live around the block but my husband loves one of their burritos so I decided to drive 20 minutes for take out. I ordered a taco salad with ground beef and a chicken quesadilla for my son. My husband had a burrito and it was fine. When I got home and opened the bag, i started to dig through the salad and there was no beef. I was a little upset and figured since they charge $12-$15 a dish that it should be done right. Understanding that people make mistakes I called and the girl tells me the chef says otherwise. Are you kidding me? Do you think I had nothing better to do then make something up and call you? She tells me a ticket will be there that says I have a credit for a salad with beef. She told me she can't refund my card for the salad. I wasn't going back and I wasn't arguing with her so I hung up. THEN noticed my sons quesadilla had no chicken. Mistakes are made but it's how you handle them as a business to ensure your customers are happy. To tell me the chef says otherwise rudely was a total turn off and makes us not want to give this business money. As a business owner you should talk to your employees and give a customer service lesson. You have great food and never had an issue but this was very disappointing. read more

He was ungloved and maskless coughing all over and just made the whole place seem really dirty. The soda is flat and the machines really need to be cleaned along with the rest of the place. Chips are made from scratch and are light and served warm and they are perfect with the hot sauce. Service is great and even if you ask for water with your meal, expect that they will do everything to accommodate. They are AWESOME with food allergy requests! This small, mostly take-out place to get food has really deteriorated. The fellow who waited on me had a terrible manner and has been there awhile. The cheap paper bag ripped by just holding the top. The food leaked out all over and soaked the bag. The soda machine was absolutely FILTHY and the ice dispenser did not work. The fellow said he couldn't do anything about that. They used to carry bottles of water and canned common drinks, but don't do that anymore. The place was not clean in general. While preparing my order the worker laughed and joked under his breath to the woman who also worked there. It was a bad experience. The tacos did taste good but I worried about germs from the place. My husband and I love Avocados because it delivers satisfying TexMex, but with much fresher, wholesome ingredients. Everything is so unbelievably high-quality, most aspects made in-house, and the portions are incredibly generous. My favorite dish is the tropical fish burrito: fried fish with tons of veggies and pineapple/mango salsa. You need two hands and a solid hour to eat this thing! It is so bright and delicious tasting; a perfect balance of flavors. My husband loves the buffalo (chicken) burrito, the soft chicken tacos, and of course, the empanadas. The empanadas are made fresh to order, so I would suggest calling them in ahead, or be prepared to wait a bit. They aren't junky Taco Bell empanadas, either...they are the real deal, stuffed with tender shredded pork and served with yummy dipping sauce. Worth the wait. The tortilla chips are PHENOMENAL: super crunchy and light with just enough salt...the guacamole, unfortunately, is not my favorite (ironic, I know) as I feel it lacks a little bite. They offer a $6.99 lunch special that includes a variety of burritos, tacos, and taco salads...a serious steal if you're craving quality food on a budget.
