Salsa's is sort of a middle of the road Mexican joint. The food is pretty good, just not great. If you're here, don't expect to be blown away, but it's worth stopping in for a bite simply because it's affordable. Every day from 11-3 they have lunch specials for $5.75 and under. You get large portions for a great price, which in my opinion is a win. The food is mediocre, but it's kind of a fun atmosphere, and again, very affordable at lunchtime. There are better Mexican places in Jackson, but if you're in the Clinton area and you're looking for something cheap, Salsa's isn't a bad bet. read more

My fiancé and I drove into Clinton, MS from Dallas, TX for a family event. While here, he and I picked up his mother and niece and went to Salsa's at 509 Springridge Rd B, Clinton, MS 39056, on 09/23/2022. When we sat down, we placed our drink orders, but it took a while for the server to return to our table because he had such a big section to service. The only other server in that section had a smaller section than us. My fiancé ordered a buy one get one free margarita after the server returned to the table and took our food order. We specifically requested that my fiancé's mom's food had very light seasoning because of a health condition she has. When the food arrived, my fiancés and I food was INCREDIBLY salty and his mother's food had too much seasoning. The mango margarita ordered was one of the worst margaritas my fiancé or I have ever tasted. At that point, I walked to the hostess stand to ask to speak to a manager. I didn't ask our server because he never came back to our table to check on us. When I request the manager, I heard him say, I'm here, what's the problem?" I'm thinking, "Why are you just standing here when your servers need your help to assist customers?" So I explained the situation to the manager, Alquinto, and he agreed to take off the food and the margarita. So we walked to the car while my fiancé paid for our meal at the hostess stand. I got his mother and niece settled in the car when all of a sudden, I turned around and the mgr, Alquinto, had followed my fiancé out of the restaurant and grabbed his arm and his carry bag, pulling my fiancé towards him! I ran over towards them, yelling, "What's going on and this is NOT ok!! Why are you grabbing him like that??" My fiancé said that the manager refused to take off the margaritas, after he told us he would, and when it was time to pay, my fiancé reminded Alquinto of his words, but denied he said any of that, hence his "reason" for chasing my fiancé out of the restaurant. I then got EXTREMELY upset and jumped between the two of them, yelling at the Alquinto to let him go, and he finally did. I asked him what was his problem, chasing customers out of the store, and that's when he said he's calling the Clinton Police Dept and walked back in the restaurant. My fiancé was highly upset and in a state of shock, and I told him that I would go into the restaurant to speak with Alquinto and pay for the meal, and that we'll press charges. So, when I walked inside, I was pretty upset and demanded that he allow us to pay so we could leave and file charges. After paying for the drinks, the police dept came and asked for everyone's side of the story. I explained EXACTLY what happened to one of the officers. And the PD got the statement from Alquinto, and he said that we walked in the restaurant yelling and cursing, etc when we first got there. I was in a state of disbelief and told the officer that was ALL incorrect. Eventually, I convinced my fiancé to leave after I paid, to press charges against the manager, Alquinto. I will do whatever I have to in order to get this behavior recognized and not swept under the rug, as most things tend to do. read more

3/11/15 Purchased a Taco Salad.... My salad bowl was full of water. I asked the owner for a refund because the food was not touched. I was very nice & he refused. Customer service is not a priority with the manager and his crew at this location. You are better off driving down the Parkway or 80 to another Mexican resturant to eat. I went with a large group and the manager did not care if we ate there or not. We ended up waiting almost two hours for our food and the rice tasted like salt had been dumped in and five little shrimp in my daughter's quesadilla. We tried to get the manager to our table five times during the evening and finally another gentleman at our table went and found him leaning against the wall outside the kitchen. No apology for slow service and losing our order and not coming to check on us when we asked just excuse that they were very busy. Got tired of listening to the excuse when I could look around and see empty table after empty table. Paid my check and left never to darken their door again. read more

My party of five waited over an hour for our meal when people around us were coming and going from there tables, the waiter only came to our table one time within this hour; I had to go track the waiter down to tell him we had been waiting over an hour, our meal took another 10 minutes to come out to the table; I asked for a discount since we waited so long, and the waiter laughed at me. Their food was very delicious and you get a lot for an affordable price. We ate here passing through and now I wish our hometown had them! This is by far the best Mexican in Clinton. The price is fair, and the food has not been bad yet. There are a variety of dishes for all tastes, and there are even adventurous dishes such as a cactus molcajete. I have had enchiladas tipicas, which is basically a cheese enchilada with grilled chicken on top. This is in general my favorite dish to get at a Mexican restaurant (I know it isn't really authentic). SO glad they serve it here, just wish there were avocado slices on top. The chips were not my favorite, but I enjoyed the salsa which has a hint of cilantro. Service and food served to the table were very fast, and the wait staff are very nice. My only complaint about the whole place is how dark it feels during the day and that you pay at the front. Otherwise, I am quite happy with Salsa's and will continue to give them my business. read more
