We booked Salsitas Tacos for our annual Toys 4 Tots event for 250 people, and boy did they sure deliver!! Jose and his team were on time, very friendly, and dependable. Just hired Salsitas for my birthday party in the backyard and received a LOT of positive feedback on the quality of food ! Pre-event: You will speak to one of the owners to set up your appointment and go over which menu and items you would like to book. Follow up was very thorough and they were patient enough to allow me to finalize some choices on the menu even the week of the event. If you meet a certain amount you qualify for bonus items which definitely separates their service from other taco guys. Event: One of the partners and assistant are assigned to every event. One partner was a former chef at a Mexican restaurant and the taste of his menu is very authentic. I only ordered 3 meat menu and 2 bonus sides, however Salsitas upgraded my event for free with an extra meat, and upgraded my Aguas frescas from 3 gal to 5 gal! I did cater for a 30+ party so my upgrades/freebies may differ from your event just a heads up. Service was very professional and punctual and respectful/mindful to all the guest. ***ELOTES ELOTES ELOTES**** They do not advertise this but they DO serve elotes!! About $2 each which includes the corn and all the fixins :cheese, butter, chili powder. Corn quality was super juicy. This is way better than the Elotes Man from LA who serves each corn for $4 and charges a $150 for a "show-up fee" and most likely safer than asking the local Elotes man from the park to show up at your place. Will definitely hire again Extra notes: Get the Guacomole and horchata. Have trays and containers ready at the end of the night as they will have leftovers for you to keep. Since we weren't having much luck with the local caterers in Palm Desert handling 200 guests we reached out of the area. We noticed the five star reviews for Salsitas and took a chance. I cannot say enough good about this company. They showed up on time, set up their kitchen quickly and professionally. I had the pleasure of attending a party where the crew was delightful and the food good but trying to have them call you back or text in the 8 hours that the website tells you they will do is virtually impossible. After calling several times and also texting as they ask you to do I would never get a return text or call. Business must be good but the booking method I think is terrible.
