We made a weekday reservation for a party of 8 well in advance and still were only able to get a 5pm seating, so keep that in mind. We started with crab and spinach dip, as we were doing a citywide comparison of crab dips, and it was yummy, but not really comparable because of the spinach. We also tried the grilled artichokes and the PEI Mussels and both were delicious. Main courses of Seared Salmon and Ahi Tuna were very good. Our server was friendly, helpful and attentive. She was also super understanding of our two under-7 guests and their needs. The cherries in the Shirley Temples were monstrous! Cake was shared by all and was delicious. read more

Warmed cornbread with honey butter 11/10: I feel like the cornbread was a bit spicy in the best way possible. Was it jalapeño cornbread? It was so mouth watering with the butter !! This is a must-get ! Crab dip 7/10: Wish there were more things to dip into it. Hack: put the crab dip on the cornbread. That was a game changer. This year, we decided to add it to the list for our family week away, and wow, are we glad we did! What a wonderful time. We made a reservation a couple of weeks in advance, and were seated promptly by the friendly team. Cengis was our server, and he took expert care of us throughout the meal. What a feast! Loved the food, ambiance and staff so much I went back the next night. From Cole and Tia (can't remember how to pronounce her name) at the bar to their General Manager Jackson's passion for the restaurant and business, they made me feel right at home. I highly recommend the crab cake, veal bolognese, seafood gumbo and their specialty cocktails. My favorite, Grand Old Fashioned. The classic Salt Air continues to strive to be one of the better dining establishments in Rehoboth. The transition from being part of the Big Fish family to being part of the Atlas family seems to have gone more smoothly than for some of its sisters. The staff is quite attentive and knowledgeable about the dining choices. The restaurant is farm chic and updated for seasonal decor and is one of the prettiest places in town. Amazing chocolate cake! I still think all finer restaurants need to have decent side portions included in main dish. The special the night I visited was a lovely, crispy rock fish on a decadent sauce. I have written a previous review of Salt Air, but I feel this restaurant deserves another shout-out. We absolutely love dining here! The food is always spectacular, but what truly makes Salt Air a gem is the incredible staff. Sean, Sara, Theodora, Jess, and I'm sure so many others go above and beyond to make every visit special. We have had the pleasure of interacting with each of them, and they are all genuinely committed to making dining at Salt Air an experience, not just a meal. Their warmth, attentiveness, and professionalism are exceptional, and you can tell they truly care about their guests. I need to start by saying this is our favorite restaurant! The staff are always great and the manager, Jess, is so friendly and accommodating. We were in last Friday without a reservation and sat at the bar overlooking the kitchen. Our dinner started with the crackers and cheese spread (yum), a beer, and the Bad Blood. I recommend asking for a tahini rim. My husband had the crab cakes and substituted cornbread for fries. The cornbread is like a dessert! I had the Glazed Chilean Seabass. All I can say is DELICIOUS! Imagine being in the Olympics and heading into the finals knowing you are the favorite and totally flub. That was my experience at Salt Air. It's not a 5 star place with fancy table cloths but a solid contender for 4 stars. I walked in and was greeted by a great happy person. She looked really hard to find us a table and got one. Jose our serve was great. He went over the menu. He talked about customer favorites versus his personal favorites. I went with the seafood stew. They were out of fluke, a standard on their menu. Alright, it happens The others at my table ordered crab cakes, rock fish and tuna. The dinners start coming out and oh no, they put a crab cake in front of me. Jose looked at me and said oh no! He assured me he would fix it. The kitchen clearly prepared my meal super fast and fresh but it came when others were almost done eating. I have to take off a star for messing up my order. It tasted really good, was piping hot and filled me. I tried the crab cake while waiting and it was really good. It was crazy busy. I strongly suggest you try it here. I went to Rehoboth Beach for the weekend and we dined at Salt Air on a Saturday evening and it was a great experience. We had reservations for 8pm. They were packed and swamped so we waited a few minutes while they were clearing out a party before us. Dining experience was amazing. This place is on the upscale, yet cozy, with rustic and unique ambiance. Unique decor and comfy cushioned pillows in some of the chairs. I would recommend studying the menu in advance so you can get an understanding of what you plan to order, just to make things run smoother. I was sort of stumped about what you order. Eventually, I figured it out I ordered the Crab Cake serverd over a flavorful cream sauce, Boardwalk Fries and a yummy pickled salad with cucumbers and veggies. I had this with a glass of Pinot Grigio. Delish! My friend, she ordered the Filet on the bone, a side of mash potatoes and a cocktail. I had one of the filets and they were cooked to perfection, like melt in your mouth tender, with a light vinaigrette with fancy, small mushrooms and peppers on top. Service was great. Salt Air is one of my favorite restaurants in Rehoboth which is why we always visit every time we're in town. This last visit, though, was not as good. I love the eclectic decor and atmosphere at Salt Air, and it looked like their menu hadn't changed too much since we were last there, but this time our portions seemed smaller. To start, we had the burrata salad which needed more seasoning. It was somewhat bland although the burrata was creamy, and I liked the pistachios. Usually I order the seafood stew, but I decided to try something different (our server was enthusiastic about it too), so I ordered the Togarashi crusted ahi tuna. It was slightly on the spicy side with the added chili oil which I liked, but the portion was small. There were just three pieces of tuna for $38, and I ended up eating more of the flatbread pieces in our bread basket than I wanted to as I was still hungry. My husband said the same about his veal bolognese. He liked it, but the portion was small, and there wasn't a lot of bolognese. Our friends ordered a salad with shrimp and the cheese and charcuterie board which I later wished I had ordered. I've since read they've changed owners which may be why, quite sadly, my favorite restaurant in Rehoboth may not be my favorite anymore. read more

Salt Air is a solid spot in Rehoboth Beach that could make it to 4 stars, and might comparative to other restaurants in the region, but coming from NYC it was hard to say it is more than a fine place to eat. The place is clearly busy, even in early October, which surprised me, and the drinks are strong, which was a nice thing to have. Two big wins there. The crackers and butter are also a nice treat to have, though would like bread, but understand we don't need it necessarily. The crab and spinach dip is fine - I was hoping for something a bit better, but it's just as good as an average crab dip you might make at home. The Spinach was clearly hiding in there. The crab cakes are also fine, certainly not worth the price, but if you're from out of town and want a crab cake, it's better than average, but not a lot better than average. The caesar salad was again quite average, and didn't seem to have any creativity or thought in how it could be made differently or unique for the restaurant. I'd come in for a cocktail and snack if you want, but for the price it's really just okay dining in a beach town. read more

An amazing meal from the crackers and cheese to the entrees. The staff were friendly and attentive. Our pay for reservations (that should be credited later...just be sure to check your check) assured quick seating when we arrived. We were a party of five that started with the crab deviled eggs. The yolk filling was very creamy, smooth, and heavy on the mustard. Each half (4) had a lump of crab. I would definitely order these again. My FIL ordered the special, miso glazed fish with broccolini. It looked amazing and I was told that the glaze was not too heavy and the broccolini was cooked perfectly. My MIL had the Seafood Stew with ciabatta. It was served in a large bowl and it was full of shrimp, white fish, clams, and mussels. This was served in a tomato saffron broth with marble potatoes. I have already decided that this will be my next meal here! My husband had the crusted ahi tuna with mashed edamame. It was beautiful and my husband was impressed. Our son had the crab cake, cucumber salad, and french fries. I had to try a bite of the crab cake when he raved about it. The mouthful that I got was a huge lump of crab with some breading it was moist and flavorful. I decided on the Famous Shrimp Fry with creamed corn cornbread, fries and cucumber salad. The crust on the shrimp was crunchy (panko) and lightly seasoned with very little grease. The shrimp itself was plump and juicy. If I could've eaten more, I would've ordered more of the cornbread. It wasn't overly sweet and I was able to eat it with a fork without it crumbling (my personal test). We were all nicely impressed by the food, the staff and the decor. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area. read more

This review is a little late but I had to give Salt Air their review as we had a wonderful Thanksgiving meal here! The entire staff was fully prepped on Thanksgiving and everything from the service to drinks and food were wonderful! We wanted to come out for a Thanksgiving meal where all four of us (two children in tow) could have what we wanted for the holiday as far as our meals. Well, Salt Air delivered on that! I am not a "Thanksgiving meal" kind of gal so being able to get their rockfish entree with all the autumn and in season veggies had me ecstatic! To have the option for kids meals was also a huge bonus for my youngest chicken nugget lover. My husband tends to be a traditionalist with Turkey day and got his wish with their turkey meal which included a starter soup, a full turkey dinner with all the sides, and a dessert! The apple plum cobbler we shared at the end and it was met in your mouth goodness! My oldest got a roasted chicken entree with potatoes that he enjoyed as well. The boys ended with chocolate cake which was big enough for them to share. We all left very full and happy with our individual choices. I also have to give a shout out for their drinks- I forget the name of it but I had apple cider with tequila drink rimmed with cinnamon sugar that was soooo good, I broke my one drink only and had two! My family and I were excited to try this place but were EXTREMELY disappointed! Three of us ordered the seafood stew which was absolutely tasteless. The "goat cheese" that was served shortly after we sat down tasted like they just threw some store bought cream cheese in a fancy lil bowl. I wish I'd done my research beforehand because if I'd known this place was owned by the repulsive Atlas Restaurant Group I would've never been there in the first place. However - overall very pricey for average food. The artichokes and the beet salad were unique. The mussels were tasty. The rockfish was dry (probably overcooked) -- but the fish special of the day was excellent. The crab cake was loaded with crab chunks. The steak was requested to be medium - came out medium well and was dry / lacking flavor. The steak and rock fish were the main disappointments. No one came by to check if everything was ok. It was good. We had the Pork belly, halibut and shrimp fry. The pork belly was great and probably the best thing we had. The halibut was great but it was very basic and the sauce was wonderful but didn't make up for the blandness of the rest of the dish. Salt Air was BEYOND incredible!! Their service is outstanding and cuisine is absolutely to die for. Their food is fresh, locally sourced and the menu is very unique. The cocktails are also so original, featuring fresh squeezed ingredients and interesting mixes. My daughters and I had a special bday dinner in the bar area and the staff was incredibly attentive-- Celia & Sean are true standouts when it comes to service! This was our second visit to Salt Air. It has been a great experience both times. Our server last week was amazing. Jose was helpful and took his time with us and offer us a wine taste. We both ordered the sea food stew. Unfortunately it was too tomatoey for both of us and had too many potatoes and not enough seafood. I guess I was expecting something more like my favorite San Francisco Cioppino. Otherwise the crackers and dip are wonderful and salad was good. A comfortable atmosphere with art and interesting decor on the wall. Our salad was greek and was overly large. Two of us had difficulty eating it all. It was properly dressed, and represented good value. I had the tuna that was cried in dried herbs. The dish was not successful in that the herbs lacked flavor and the tuna was bland. It came with rotini and cherry tomatoes that were ok. Our second dish was halibut with quinoa and asparagus. The halibut had a seared coating that didn't add much. The fish was properly, but not overly interesting. The starch was neutral and the asparagus was an asset. Too many flaws for the best review, but worth a visit. read more

My $14 ceasar salad arrived with brow tipped bitter lettuce that had not been dried properly. 2. I have on every visit ordered what once was an amply portioned charchutterie board, this time my $28 cheese board was half the size it had been and left me purchasing a soft pretzel afterwards to curb my hunger. 3. "Salt air And the rust on your door I never needed anything more" (Taylor Swift) We were absolutely stunned to see that on a Sunday night during Rehoboth Beach's off-season that Salt +Air was packed solid. When we were greeted by "do you have a reservation?" (we didn't), I felt pretty lucky that they found a table for two for us. We were barely seated when the first of the night's great experiences was experienced when a big basket pf parmesan toast crisps and a ramekin of whipped goat cheese greeted us. I can't tell you how delicious these crispy cheese studded flatbread rectangles and the fluffy cheese dip were. What a fantastic start. Nest up were two cocktails to kick off our mini-vacation. My wife went for the Snowfall Sangria ($13 for red sangria infused with limes & oranges, orange liqueur, peach schnapps, and sprite) while I went for "All I See is Gold" ($16 for kula toasted coconut rum, vino piña pineapple wine, coconut liqueur, and gold dust). Both drinks were excellent!! We had three items from their Snack Bar, Shareables and Chef's Starters choices. We shared a choice that included three words I have never seen strung together in my life. How about you -have you ever seen the words "Blueberry Brussels Sprouts" in your lifetime? Well, you'll see them here, because the menu has an offering of "Blueberry Dijon Brussels" described as flash fried brussels served in a blueberry ginger Dijon sauce for ($11). It was fantastic@ full of flavor and not greasy despite the flash frying. My wife's main was Meatballs and Grits - $16 for "house blend meatballs + feta cheese + tomato jam + castle valley grits + basil spinach pesto". She loved it and a mooched a forkful of one meatball and thought it was excellent. My main was a $16 bowl of Littleneck clams & grilled ciabatta served in a red curry, lemongrass, and pepper broth. I devoured every single clam, every single milliliter pf the broth, and every speck of ciabatta. Our meal of two cocktails and three small plates totaled $72. Right off the bat, food was very good, staff was very better!!! It might be just me but the prices are OUTRAGEOUS! So my complaint is solely based on the ridiculous pricing. A place with this much class, and such good food, doesn't need to gouge the public like they doo!
