My $14 ceasar salad arrived with brow tipped bitter lettuce that had not been dried properly. 2. I have on every visit ordered what once was an amply portioned charchutterie board, this time my $28 cheese board was half the size it had been and left me purchasing a soft pretzel afterwards to curb my hunger. 3. A place with this much class, and such good food, doesn't need to gouge the public like they doo! A solid spot for a very good seafood meal right near the beach. Came here with the family one evening and walked in to a very lively and electric atmosphere. At our back corner table, was could see and hear all the goings-ons, which was fun. We all ordered our drinks and settled in with a crispy flatbread basket along with herbed butter for spreading. Folks were hungry, so we got both a deviled egg plate plus a crab and spinach dip for passing around. Both were unique takes on their respective dishes and all seemed to enjoy. For my meal, I went with the shrimp fry platter consisting of several plump, fresh shrimp fried crispy along with seasoned fries and a rough chopped cole slaw and a small brick of cornbread. This was our second time at Salt Air, and both meals were consistently excellent. If I could give half stars, it would be 4.5. The complementary crackers and goat cheese spread is addicting, and the brought us veggies and dip for my gluten free wife. My wife had the Salmon both visits, they were prepared slightly different and she thoroughly enjoyed both meals. First trip I had a special Swordfish, this ti e the seafood stew, again both meals were excellent. We had a very reasonably priced bottle of Pinot Grigio, and a Panna Cotta dessert. This is my final review. I'm gonna summarize the experiences within this restaurant to give an accumulative look at what it is like to dine here First of all the food is immaculate. The chef is outstanding. One meal is better than the other. They don't nickel and dime you like some places on the beach, but instead you are paying for luxury and you are getting luxury at a fair cost . Outrageous delicious food and impeccable drinks . Try the fried shrimp boil and the muscles . They have the best dirty martini I've ever had we come all the way from Brooklyn just for the dirty martini. Now for some cons. They leave the basket of crackers that you get at the beginning right near the bathroom and it's very strange. They're all uncovered and kids can pass by and touch them after going poo poop. They really need to fix that. While service is wonderful the management is a bit odd. The people who introduced themselves as managers are always rude to staff and customers. To the managers you need to understand that customers do not have to spend their money here and it is because of customers that you exist here and make your money so you need to be kind when people are placing reservations and when people are coming to see you, especially when they're coming this far and especially when you're surrounded by great people and you're ruining it for them. I also hope that you pay your staff abundantly because it is because of them that the restaurant is succeeding. While you might not have all the power you do have some when it comes to allocating resources so I need you to relay to upper management how important this is and when you do your work, take it into consideration. Moving on the happy hour is awesome and longer than the other happy hours around town. The bar is cozy and service is up to par. Salt Air is Our best experience on the beach and the funny part is we came in 2020 and it was not good but they really turned things around. Family of 10 dinner on a Sunday night. Although they were extremely crowded we received excellent service. Everyone loved their food, highlights being the charcuterie board for an app, the grilled Tuna and fluke. All entrees were perfectly cooked. In case you haven't checked the menu it is expensive however we felt the value was fair. This place has tons of seating whether at a table, high table or bar, but don't let that fool you, you still need a reservation. The Parmesan crackers and whipped goat cheese that is served before your meal was pretty good. I loved my pumpkin martini! You even get another pour because it comes out with the shaker too! Double the tastiness! I enjoyed my blackened scallops with fettuccine. The scallops were beautifully cooked, you could easily slice through with the edge of your fork! My friend had the free bird which was moist but maybe too moist because it was sitting on a bed of grits. May be better served over farro or mashed potatoes. I love the vibe at Salt Air. Laid back, friendly waiter who never missed a beat. We started with the crab deviled eggs. I was skeptical about the jalapeño chip since I can't take a lot of heat but it provided the right amount without over powering the crab & eggs. It was a fabulous start. I gave Salt Air 3 stars a few years ago... but after this recent trip I feel compelled to lower it to 2. This place is booked solid every single night and I have no idea why. We arrived at 6pm and were told it would be a 1.5 hour wait for a table for 2. We decided to sit at the bar. I mean, how could a place with THIS many people eating here every night be bad? I've been here 3 times now and every time we leave saying, "meh". This time we left saying- we will not be back. We started with the crab toast. After one bite we realized the bottom was COMPLETELY burned black. How could they serve this? We sent it back to the kitchen. Our entrees came out... eventually. My salmon was well cooked and the veggies were fine. But, it lacked seasoning. My husband's steak was way under cooked. They ask their patrons to cut into the steak when they bring it to the table. Why?! They should know if it's the correct temperature before serving it. It was way under cooked. Had to send that back too. SIGHHHHHHH! So many better places in Reho. This was our first time at Salt Air. We frequent other BF restaurants regularly. I felt rushed when we arrived. We ordered drinks and before we even received them, our waitress asked if we wanted to place our order which I thought was weird. We only saw our waitress a few times- when she took our order, we asked to order more drinks, and when we asked for the check...someone else brought out our food and drinks. Our food itself did not take that long but our drinks first and second rounds took extremely too long to make it to our table - upwards of 20 minutes! It was very difficult to find our waitress to flag her down. The waitress didn't ask us anything, no check ins to ask how anything was, nothing. The restaurant was very busy however, we did see other servers, and a manager even delivered a drink for us. If I didn't know other BF restaurants that I go to and enjoy I would probably never be back based on the service alone. Meals were just ok, again, I have had better from the brand. For the price tag, I think there are far better options close by based on this experience. read more

I was told tonight that they could accommodate but there would be an up charge. When the dish came the bowl was considerably smaller than usual and there were no scallops. High marks for food, drinks, and service. We sat at the bar for happy hour on a weekday so it was easy to grab a seat. Not sure why people would wait in line for this place- everything is delicious but nothing super unique. We enjoyed the Michelada clams and wings. The flavor of the clams were amazing but we wish we had more bread to finish the sauce. The smoked wings were so tender and the dip that came with them wasn't the usual ranch or bleu cheese so good to try something different. This is a very challenging review to write..... an iconic restaurant where it is impossible to get reservations it's always so busy. But tonight they totally missed the mark for 3 out of our party of 4. The good- we didn't have reservations and were able to get a high top in the bar area. The service was solidly good. That portion of the evening was a 3 star. Now, the food. We had a party of 4. 2 people ordered the tomato bisque. When it as delivered to the table it looked beautiful, a dollop of goat cheese on top. The issue was the soup was barely warm. They sent it back, and when it returned to the table it was at least warm, but not hot.It was flavorful but very thick, an odd consistency for soup, but tasty. It would have been better if really hot. Entrees, one in our party had the crab cakes and she really enjoyed them. One person had the pierogi appetizer and said they tasted like frozen ones from the supermarket. One person had the chicken thighs ~ there was so much breading it was difficult to find the meat. They were overcooked and had a strange flavor to the sauce that was on them. It was very salty and greasy. I had the Lobster and saffron carbonara. At $41,00 I had high expectations and was totally let down. The pasta was a very, very thick spaghetti, there was 1 tiny bit of pancetta, zero saffron, barely if any carbonara sauce, it was quite dry and it was totally flavorless. There were 2 pieces of lobster claw meat which was good, but maybe 3 ounces ? Very disappointing. I would have sent it back but was so turned off there was nothing else I wanted. Two in the party ordered lemon bars. They were very large, i bit hard, and rather flavorless. We are used to lemon bars being a bit delicate and very flavorful.The accompanying ice cream was good. A very dissatisfying and disappointing evening, our check was $119 for the 2 of us, that was one soup, the lobster, the chicken,,we each had 2 mixed drinks, and one lemon bar. Our friends check was $90 for a soup, an appetizer, the crab cakes, 2 glasses of wine and a lemon bar.
