Our favorite meal of the trip. Decor/service: cute place with a little outdoor sitting area. The tables are a little close together for my liking. The staff was friendly and service was quick Food: their menu has gluten allergens clearly labeled. we tried numerous appetizers including the crab soup special, fancy fries, deviled eggs, and brussel sprouts. The sprouts were our least favorite of them as they were way to light on the sauce. The other 3 were all very good and I think my wife died over the soup's flavor. The chorizo meatloaf had each component good tasting but when combined was great. The short rib entree was both beautiful and tasty! read more

Another restaurant now competing for our #1 spot in Rehobeth. From start to finish- the pleasant greeting from the host (who we learned is co-owner), the very friendly and efficient service, and very appealing and interesting menu. I was pleasantly surprised to see a Portugal Vinho Verde on the wine list - so refreshing on a summer evening and a generous pour. We started with the entree portion of the arugula, roasted beets, and goat cheese salad topped with a light and zesty vinaigrette. We couldn't pass up the ceviche special with house made tortilla chips. Full of seafood and just the right amount of punch from the lime. Grilled Octopus over a wonderful slaw was a real winner. Easily the very best meal we had in Rehoboth. We made a reservation and didn't realize it was outside until we arrived on the 100F degree day. They had fans that really helped move the air a little on the small outdoor covered area. It was super hot but the amazingly crafted cocktails and food soon made us forget the heat. Our waiter, who was superb by the way, brought us several delights over the course of our meal. The Sazerac cocktail rivaled NOLA preparations and the Yuzu whiskey sour and the Long & Happy Life cocktails were exceptionally prepared. We really enjoyed the Brussels sprouts with halved figs, the mushroom bruschetta, the grilled octopus, scallop crudo, and beet salad with figs were all really tasty. Don't hesitate to try this place! It was our first visit, and we were pleasantly surprised. The drinks were a bit pricey, my Lavender Dreams was $17 but it was delicious, just on the smaller side. The salmon was excellent, and the kitchen kindly substituted extra mashed potatoes since I don't care for Brussels sprouts. My husband had the beet salad and the octopus, and both were outstanding. Service was great, and the atmosphere overall is very nice. The only design element that didn't appeal to us was the white and blue wall treatment with the chair rail, coastal décor doesn't need to take "blue like the ocean" quite so literally. We were able to call and make a reservation for 8 people. We sat outside on the patio which is covered on 3 sides. It did get a little humid but not bad. Service was very good. Interesting cocktail list. I had the old fashioned and my husband had the coffee cocktail which was excellent. The wings were delicious. I got the deviled eggs with bacon as an appetizer and the short rib over risotto for my meal. I forgot got to take a pic of the short rib but it was delicious. We have been to Shorebreak many times, and we always have a good meal there. The cocktail artistry is far above most restaurants, the food is superb and the atmosphere is fun. Good energy, though it can be noisy. Outstanding attention to your needs if you're gluten free. Try their flourless chocolate torte. Not ideal for kids. Definitely need a reservation during the season or special event weekends. We go to RB at least twice a year, and Shorebreak Lodge is a must every time. read more

This place was 10/10 delicious! We started with the Brie and naan and it was by far our favorite dish. So many different flavors but they all worked perfectly together. We ordered several small plates and shared and eat dish was equally delicious. The service was good and we appreciated Cortland's recommendations. In total we ordered the Brie and naan, Brussel sprouts, burrata salad, and the half order of the beef short ribs. It was perfect for my husband and I to share. From the decor and ambiance to the impeccable service, delicious food and not to mention innovative cocktails, Shorebreak truly has it all. The decor is subtle elegance all while keeping you in the beach vibe. Our server Finn was friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the menu. I am not a seafood eater so for me when I go to a restaurant that specializes in seafood, or has a seafood centered menu I am always speculative of how good the land side of the menu will be. Well, Shorebreak does not disappoint. I've had their short ribs, burgers and chicken wings and I can sincerely say it was all tasty and delicious. The cocktails are incredibly innovative. I had the Long Island which is their take on the Long Island ice tea. It was amazingly smooth. Their espresso martini does not disappoint either. My husband and I after here a few days before Christmas. Hard to believe it was the offseason as things were jumping! Loved the vibe. We both ordered cocktails ; husband had the Italian Sunset Manhattan which was right up his alley. I had a winter snow martini- it was very lovely- but goes down quickly! We started with an order of the Deviled eggs with chimichurri- a perfect little appetizer the chimichurri made them extra special. I had duck breast - very good and they were able to give me mashed potatoes with it . Husband had the Rockfish special- he was very happy with it. Ver excited to return here soon! read more

Decided to start out our family beach week with Shorebreak, a first time for us despite the fact that we've been going to Rehoboth for years. So glad we did! What a great meal. We had made a reservation for our party of seven and were promptly seated and taken care of. The impressive cocktail list lives up to the reputation. I really enjoyed my shrimp and grits - what a feast! The service was excellent, although there was a wait for our entrees - to be expected, though, because it's a busy summer night during the dinner rush. We sat on the covered outdoor patio, and it was a hot night - next time we are eating inside. Dessert offerings looked good although we will have to enjoy those next time. We had a delicious meal at Shorebreak for our anniversary dinner. They started us off with a small toasting glass of complimentary Prosecco to toast the evening. I had the filet and my husband tried the chorizo meatloaf. Both were cooked to perfection as were the sides that accompanied them. Our server, Kara, was excellent! Warm , engaging, knowledgeable about every dish. She was a pleasure! We shared a slice of homemade Carrot cake for dessert. The entire experience was first rate. Came just for drinks on a Friday night and sat at the bar - you can make reservations for the bar, so definitely recommend this to guarantee a spot! The bartenders are friendly and personable - shout out to owner Ben who gave us the lowdown on the extensive cocktail menu! Everything looked great but we decided on the Long Island and Vietnamese Coconut Coffee Cocktail. Both were amazing! The Long Island was insane - obviously boozy but the drink is clear, you'll have to get it and ask the bartender how they make it. Trust me! Loved the Vietnamese Coffee drink too - it wasn't too coconutty and had a great foam on top. Definitely a riff on an espresso martini (which they also had!) but more unique. Also, if you like ginger in your cocktails, they make their own gingercello, so cool!! Overall it was a fun cocktail bar with a big menu- definitely something for everyone. Great location with consistently delicious food. The Sazerac I ordered was classic and the best I've had! The special dish of the night was the pan fried halibut cooked perfectly and paired with fingerling potatoes and a fresh corn salad. Service by Cortland was great!!! Great service and delicious food and drinks!  When a beloved restaurant changes ownership we always wonder if things will be as good as they had been in the past.  Within a few minutes of visiting Shorebreak, we knew the high expectations for food/drinks and service were going to continue to be a priority with the new owners.  On this visit we brought the next generation of young adults in the family to sample some of the amazing cocktails and experience Shorebreak, which is a step above most establishments. The espresso and chocolate martinis were spot on and enjoyed by our group. The house Old Fashion, which the owner has put a nice spin on to make it unique to SB, was delicious!  Shorebreak creates a comfortable, yet classy, atmosphere where everyone is welcome and strangers end up chatting with others at the bar like old friends.  A must visit in RB! read more

Excellent experience. Beginning with the Beautiful, soft candle light glow, lively bar, and Christmas decor touches. Our waiter was very kind and helpful. I enjoyed the app sized salad with blue cheese crumbles, greens mix, pears, and a maple dressing. It was a large sized and perfect flavor combo. My entree was the surf and turf scallops with short ribs and risotto. This was absolutely incredible and I highly recommend. We ended our meal with the creme brulee cheesecake . We had 2 cocktails each, both well balanced. The food don't even get me started, it was hands down the best octopus I have ever had in my life and I try it everywhere I go if it is on the menu, very fresh and tender with just the right amount of char. It took us a couple of years of visits to Rehoboth to get reservations at Shorebreak but we finally made it last night. And was it worth the wait. Now we know why it's tough to get a seat; this is quality dining that brings customers back again and again. Ben and Diane (mixologist/hostess respectively) have been the owners for two years. I can't make any judgement about the prior ownership but I can say the current owners have nailed it. It was one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. We sat at the bar and from the outset Ben made us feel comfortable and he obviously appreciated us as customers. The cocktails were exceptionally prepared. It's obvious he is not merely a bartender and is proud of the special attention and customized twists given to some very traditional cocktails--Sazerac, Manhattan, cosmo. The cream based crab soup was hearty and the seasoning was well balanced. It was a great start. My partner had the fish special and I had the short ribs as entrees. Both were spectacular. Ben had told us that "if this were going to be your last meal, have the short ribs." It wasn't our last meal but his assessment was accurate. I can't recall having short ribs that just seem to melt in your mouth. We were going to defer on dessert but opted for a variation of a flourless chocolate cake with caramel topping. Served warm it was the perfect end to a perfect meal. It's obvious that Ben and Diane have assembled a team that is as committed to excellence as are the owners. A superb happy hour deal and the food was amazing! We couldn't even decide which of the items we had we enjoyed the most: the octopus, the flatbread, the octopus and the wings. And price difference during happy hour still shocks me. The only item I would probably not order again would be the fish tacos. Everything else superseded expectations. A great evening at Shorebreak , 5 of us had a nice dinner. 2 had pork chops which they said were wonderful as was the mushroom risotto that accompanied. One had a burger, also excellent, and 2 had the Squid ink pasta with shellfish. It was very good as usual, but there was some issue with the pasta clumping together and that wasn't good, it wasn't all the pasta, but enough to make me mention it. The flavor was great, the shrimp and mussel were great, etc. but there was definite an issue with the pasta in places, not all of it. Grabbed a last minute reservation here on a busy Saturday after other plans fell through and I'm so glad the other plans fell through! Very chill ambiance, amazing service and the food was incredible. Cocktails were really great too. There was a summer salad with fresh berries that was delightful. I had the halibut special and it was perfectly cooked with lots of flavor. My husband had the miso honey salmon and again, so so so flavorful. We capped it off with. Flourless chocolate cake with caramel and a hint of chipotle pepper. It was heavenly. This restaurant had a lot of gluten free options and was very accommodating. Overall, was not super impressed with this place. Don't get me wrong, the service was great, but it wasn't going to pull this review up to a 4 or 5. I feel like there were not a lot of choices to choose from on the lunch menu and I feel like I kind of had to settle for something that was only alright. You could hear the music from the kitchen. That wasn't something you expect to hear walking in to the restaurant. I would suggest putting some swinging doors or something to muffle the music out. I absolutely love having date night here. As I get older, the more I appreciate a very well made cocktail . I'm 29, so I'm most definitely growing out of my white claw faze. I have. When I went last time, I went with friends, and I brought home the wild mushroom bruschetta, and my husband literally devoured it so then when we went on our date night, he was very excited to be able to eat it there. He's pretty picky with his crabcakes and he said that this was very good. It came with a corn and edamame salad. Which he really enjoyed as well. I got the glaze salmon that comes on top of brussels sprouts . Very good as well. And he also ordered a side of fries, which you don't see, but he literally loves their fries so much. Also, the ambience is so on point here. It's just more of a relaxed atmosphere because the dim lighting, which I love. It's just an overall elevated look and feel but relaxed if that makes sense. The service is always great. And I do love sitting where you can see the windows in the road right there it's just a very calming. Cozy type of date night. The biggest Takeaway I have is I always search for places that feel like a home-cooked meal. I'm Italian, and come from a big Italian family in Baltimore. So Sunday dinners at home cooked meals are just everything to me. And I'm always searching for that type of taste. It's pretty difficult to find especially living in a resort town because you see a lot of chains and they have the same stereotypical recipe recipes and it just doesn't have that taste if you know what I'm talking about.
