We were in town for a girls weekend and came here based on reviews. Unfortunately did not have the best time. The town was relatively slow, not busy. We sat down at 730pm and didn't get our food till 9pm. Restaurant wasn't busy was at all. Drinks were good but took a while to get. We didn't get apps. Entrees were good but with a 90 min wait, I would not come back. They did accommodate us and discount our meal. Take it at your own discretion.

We came for dinner during a roadtrip upstate and enjoyed it a lot! The service was amazing. I had the duck and my partner had the burger. Both were very good. Portions are also gigantic.

Part II - First of all. There are a few places to eat in Saugerties. A lot of them are great! But when it comes to badass food, there are now two places. Miss Lucy's has been here for years and is just wonderful. And before I get more into Salt and Fire, this is a great place. Run, don't walk! You'll love it. I'm here on my second visit. I started off with some lively conversation at the bar. Good times! First on my list was the Primavera Salad. Butter lettuce, peas, asparagus, some little pieces of radish, and the best lemon vinaigrette I've had in a long time. Soooo good. If I was to critique it I would say - More lettuce (way more) and less peas (like 90%) Ahhh... the Mussels. Excellent as well! I hate to say it but the broth/sauce might be better than the Mussels! They give you crostini to dip but I recommend using the house bread ALSO! Another fine meal and even better service tonight. #rundontwalk

My wife and I did a last minute trip to the area. We are a Queer POC couple from NJ/NY. We stumbled upon Salt & Fire for brunch and we were NOT disappointed. Very cute and cozy place. Great service- DELICIOUS food and drinks. Tea and Latte to start with Beignets Orange Pecan French Toast and Avocado Benedict (no egg) Then some delicious cocktails to finish up - Espresso Martini (with tequila) and a margarita Every aspect of our visit was great. Everyone was friendly and very pleasant. We absolutely plan on returning next visit to the area.

Probably my favorite restaurant so far in Saugerties. I wanted to try so much more so I know I'll be back. The service was good. Loved the bread n butter but didn't want to get full on it so had to stop. The butter had a good flavor. The goat cheese app was yummy and filling. The steak was really good however under cooked. I wanted medium well and came out like medium rare. The bar fever was really nice about sending it back to cook more. When it came back after a while it was still more like medium but I was able to eat it and I was hungry and it was delicious. The potatoes were really good too (like at miss Lucy's). Drink was good. Well def be back. Would definitely bring guests visiting here.

We loved our meal here. The atmosphere was very welcoming and warm. Our food was superb from our salads to our main meals of scallops and duck. One star removed for the waitress not letting us know about the specials despite the fact that both tables to our left and right were notified. Also, we had to repeatedly ask the waitress for more drinks. Plus we were in the bar area which was kind of noisy. It would have been a bit nicer to be in the dining room area. I would go back as the food was really good but I'd ask for a table elsewhere

1st we were treated by a kind and warm hostess. Our server was Scott and he had the friendliest demeanor. The food was epic, and completely made my tastebuds dance. The pork chop was so juicy and the portions were perfect. The atmosphere is perfect for date night

Located in the Main Street/Partition Street corridor, there is a cool downtown vibe. Street parking and a Public Lot nearby make for easy access. I got the Egs Benny and it was served with amazing potatoes and a light and tasty salad. Eggs were cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Waitress was attentive and accommodating. I also ordered a Bloody Mary and a local craft beer because I could. The Bloody was decent, not mind blowing but still tasty. Oh and I ordered a dozen oysters while I was at it. They were of the small variety but tender, clean and amazing. Prices were reasonable to the area. Definitely will be back. No photos this time, sorry.

Walking in we were seated promptly though we immediately noticed that the interior was extremely dark. Not a big deal but worth flagging for older folks who might have a hard time reading. Our server was friendly and relatively attentive and walked us through the menu. We started off with some classics including their bread and butter (which was tasty and delicious) and ordered their P.E.I Mussels ($19) along with their Fried Brussels Sprouts ($15) to share. The portions were quite large for everything (great if you're in a larger party) but we immediately noticed that the mussels they served seemed a bit off. Many of them were not opened all the way (a sign that they might not be the freshest or recently passed) and had a bit of a fishy taste to them. We ended up not finishing them and flagged them to our waiter. The other items, including the 14oz Ribeye ($43) and baby back ribs ($28) were better, though a bit one-note. The bay back ribs in particular were extremely saucy and the corn bread was dry and a bit tough to eat. I had to use a knife to split it apart as it kept crumbling every time I used a fork. Regardless, it seems like a popular spot for a reason and perhaps we just went during more of an off-night. I'd still recommend checking it out but avoiding the mussels if you go.

They have such a great menu and many drinks available. We got the potstickers to share and they were really unique and very yummy. The burger was also fantastic and gone in minutes!! Id highly recommend coming with a group or even solo and enjoying the place!

Perfect little lunch after a day of strolling and shopping in saugerties…read more We decided on a few small Plates and split the jerk chicken sandwich. The focaccia bread that the sandwich was served as and accompanied the magic mushrooms- incredible. Meant to ask if it's baked in house but forgot- but inspired to start baking some!! The Asian wings are probably the best wings I've ever had. At first I was afraid I wouldn't care for them as they seemed to have a strong all spice aroma but the blend of spices is just perfect. Disco fries were very tasty- would definitely go for the black bean chili after tasting it on the disco fries. The mushrooms are a bit heavy on the thyme but delicious. Wish yelp allowed half stars as this would be a solid 4.5 but being they don't giving it a full 5. Oh and great service, comfy relaxing atmosphere.

Actually, it's been there for 11 years. Perfect location. Just off the main area, but within walking distance to town. If you do stay here, try to get a room that faces the waterfall. Also, take the wooden walkway down to the base of the falls. We started out our morning doing so, and it was quite scenic. The rooms are big, but the walls are paper thin. Expect to hear chatter, like we experienced at 6am. Continental Breakfast was abundant with muffins, cereal, coffee and juice. -The Waterside Spa- My wife signed us up for a Couples Massage, in the middle of the afternoon. But we headed over early. Great place to lie out on the deck to catch some rays and relax. Take a soak in one of their small pools or try the sauna if you dare (at one point it was 190 degrees) The massages were nice, however the "Hot Stone" one was a little too gentle for me. You can actually spend all day here. They have a lot of places to nest, as well as a cafe. Just a 3 minute car ride. -Blackbarn Restaurant- Connected to the hotel, with the same stunning views and a great interior is "Blackbarn" After reading about the amazing and award winning chefs, I was excited to eat here. But disappointment quickly took over. My chicken tasted like it was marinated in vinegar, and the Vegetable Lasagna was made in a microwave. We ordered 2 desserts that we sent back. The pastry chef needs to be fired. This restaurant sucks.

Could not reach anyone at the front desk after numerous attempts. Called the front desk at 11am to ask to have my room made up. The front desk said someone would come in minutes. Two hours later my room was still not made up. The front desk did not apologize. And the front desk person was eating and talking with her mouth full. One of my friends had no hot water. Another had a dildo on her car.

However, as someone coming in from out of town, the experience wasn't entirely seamless; I found myself having to flag down staff just to get seated, which was a bit of an adjustment for a first-time guest. That said, the service was the highlight of my visit. My server was fantastic--attentive, polite, and genuinely made me feel welcome, as if I were one of their regulars. She really elevated the experience. As for the food, I kept it simple with the burger and fries. While it was a solid, standard meal that I would certainly eat again if I were in the area, it didn't quite hit the mark for me. Whether it was the texture of the bun or the quality of the beef, it felt a bit unremarkable. It's a perfectly fine spot for a regular, casual bite, but given the competition in the city, there's definitely room for them to sharpen up the menu. Heads up for the owner a stout on draft would be great you have 8 drafts & there're basically all the same.
