Long time fan of Salt & Straw, so obviously we had to pull up for the Chef Series. Saw them on the news that morning and said yep... field trip. If you think the flavors are just "different for attention," they're not. They actually work. I went with a Haitian-inspired plantain toffee with a little habanero moment that sneaks up in the back of your throat in the best way. Also grabbed the vegan mint chip, made with real mint leaves and those thin "speckled" chocolate flakes instead of chunky chips. Both were ridiculously good. Major win for the vegan menu. It's not an afterthought, it's a full experience. You can even get a vegan milkshake, which is rare and appreciated. Love that you can do half scoops too, because committing to one flavor here feels emotionally stressful. Shoutout to the employee in the dolphin hat who walked us through everything like an ice cream sommelier. We sampled way too many flavors and he was fully supportive of the chaos. Location on Magnolia is super cute and walkable with lots of local spots, but parking is... a personality test. Worth it though. Already planning my return for that coffee chamomile situation.

I came as a Yelp guest with my friend, and I was so excited to enjoy some good-quality ice cream. We got to try a LOT of flavors, which was one of the best parts of the experience. I sampled the Mint Chocolate Chip and the Lavender Sweet Potato flavors and... let's just say those were a BIG no for me. But hey, that's the joy of trying new things, right? Now, the real star of the show was the Snickerdoodle. OMG. It was AMAZING!!! Seriously, I could go for a Snickerdoodle cone right now. The customer service was just as impressive as the ice cream. Cierra took her time with my friend and me, answered our questions, and genuinely wanted to make sure we enjoyed our visit. That level of customer service really stands out. The shop itself is so cute and inviting. It has a great atmosphere, and honestly, I wish we had one in Houston because I would definitely be a regular. Great ice cream, great customer service, and a great experience overall! Oh, and P.S.... can we talk about those little spoons they have? OMG, they are so adorable! I've never seen spoons like that before, and now I need a set for absolutely no reason at all.

Fort Worth has a lot of great dessert options, but Salt & Straw is playing an entirely different game. This place started in Portland, and after one visit, it's easy to understand why people rave about it. The flavors are creative without being gimmicky, adventurous without being weird for the sake of being weird, and somehow every single one works. I ordered a split scoop featuring the Cream Cheese Jalapeño Jelly and Strawberry Honey Balsamic with Black Pepper. On paper, those sound like ingredients that lost a bet. In reality, they're spectacular. The balance of sweet, savory, tangy, and creamy is unlike anything you'll find in a typical ice cream shop. My wife's Strawberry Tres Leches may have been the best thing we tasted all day. Rich, smooth, and bursting with flavor. My son attacked a homemade waffle cone filled with Gooey Chocolate Brownie and rainbow sprinkles with the focus and determination of a professional athlete. The real magic, though, is the experience. The staff encourages sampling and genuinely wants you to find your perfect flavor. We tasted so many varieties I lost count, and every recommendation was spot-on. And don't overlook the extras. The cookbook is surprisingly tempting, the TacoLate is a must-try, and the rotating specialty creations are worth watching for. Places that can make a Frito Pie Sundae sound like a good idea are operating at a different level. Five stars. Fort Worth didn't just get an ice cream shop. It got an attraction.

Cream Cheese Jalapeño Jelly Ice Cream? Don't knock it until you try it! I love that you can sample as many flavors as you'd like before making your decision. They also rotate flavors regularly, which will keep every visit interesting and a reason to come back. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by the sweet aroma of freshly made waffle cones. There are a few spots to sit and enjoy your treat, or you can take it to go while strolling along W. Magnolia. Great service as well, that matters and goes a long way.

Salt & Straw has finally arrived on Magnolia Ave in the old Effin Egg location (which is the old Great Harvest Bread Co. location) I stopped by on a Friday afternoon to check it out. The interior is clean, bright, and spacious. It has the welcoming, comfortable feel of a modern soda shop. The staff was fantastic. They offered a personable and professional guide through their famous rotating monthly flavors. I enjoyed sampling different options with their metal spoons. You conveniently drop the used spoons into a designated hole in the case. I ordered a scoop of the Starling Sweet Potato Buckwheat Crumble in a fresh, thin waffle cone. You can even see the staff making the cones right behind the counter in waffle irons. The ice cream was incredibly creamy and packed a premium taste. It had a delicious, faint hint of pumpkin pie. The sweetness was perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. The puffed buckwheat mixed in added a fantastic crunch. It genuinely got better with every bite. This is a fantastic new addition to Magnolia.

I've had Salt & Straw plenty of times in Miami and was excited to hear they were opening in Fort Worth, particularly on Magnolia since it's a great street. Parking can be tough if you don't find parallel parking easily. Salt & Straw has great core flavors and seasonal flavors that are rather interesting, which can be a hit or miss. I love that they encourage sampling flavors before committing and that they use metal spoons. The ice cream is on the pricier side. This location is cute, as the one in Miami is rather small. There is seating inside and benches outside. It's also conveniently located next to Pie Tap (pizza), making for a great dinner and dessert combo.

This was my second time at Salt & Straw since the grand opening! I feel that goes to show a lot, because they haven't been here that long. The ice cream is still amazing, and I truly appreciate that they let you sample so many different flavors when you come in. To make sure that you leave with a scoop that you're gonna enjoy from start to finish. The uniqueness of the menu is never taken for granted, and this time around I got to try The Chef Series which is new and has a variety of unique, cultural flavors curated. However, I ended up leaving with the limited Birthday & Black Berries flavor in celebration of the chain itself being one year older! This was a one-day flavor so I was glad they still had it when I came by. I really enjoyed it, birthday cake can be a sickeningly , sweet flavor at times, with the mixture of sprinkles, on top of cake, in ice cream it can be a lot. However, the mixture of the blackberries really cuts through all the sugar it makes it a more enjoyable experience. I also wanted to note , my first time here I ended up parking in the front since it was accessible. However, they do share a lot in the back with pie tap. That does have quite a few spaces if you're having a hard time! Who knows what scoop I'll get next? Whatever it is will be delicious though!

Very nice location, very well thought out, foot traffic here is crazy. The place is a medium size, a lot of great ice creams to sample. We tried the hong kong milk tea, jasmine and salted caramel. Really liked the Jasmine and caramel. My only complaint is the sample is super cold and good texture, but once it's scooped into the cup/cone it melts really fast. I'm thinking it's the Texas heat, but as you can see in my one of my photos at checkout it was already melting. The salted caramel was really good in my sample spoon too but once it was scooped in my cup, it was 75% caramel sauce, not sure what happened there but I didn't wanna ask for another one. The waffle cone is really good, tastes super fresh. Overall I'm glad we finally got something nice from the north west! Great flavors, good place to go after lunch and dinner! Will be back! Must try better flavors next time!

We got to try Salt & Straw for the first time today! The team member helping us did an amazing job helping us decide on what we would like. As an extreme bonus my plus one tried flavors that he would have normally never would have tried .... And liked them!!! We for sure plan on swinging by another time be it when we have an appointment in the nearby hospital district or swing by after a zoo or museum trip!

Well DH and I tried this ice cream shop and the staff is superb!!! They have out of the box flavors and I'm sure most everyone will find something that tickles their fancy. Shout out to Cierra for being super friendly and knowledgeable. We will be back Salt & Straw.

This ice cream shop was a two thumbs up!!! The unique ice creams were so delicious. They let you try all the flavors you'd like. Nina and Joseph were fabulous! They were very knowledgeable about the ice cream and were very patient as we made our choices. The shop was so cute. It has some seating, but not much. So get your scoop and walk up and down Magnolia!

Such a fun place! I saw a few reviews call this ice cream salty but I just don't understand where that came from. I tried several ice creams that sounded interesting (tossing each spoon down the spoon hole slide in the wall-- wee!) and had a great time chatting with the employee about how each month brings a whole new specialty menu. Maybe one of those that I didn't try or were retired was too salty? Either way, I came home with a pint of freckled mint chocolate ice cream for a certain person who loves Olive Garden mints because it was just spot on taste match. Even my great niece (2y) got to try out her own selection and devoured a little cookie dough ice cream. She demands we come again.

We visited during Yelp Elite Week and I am so glad! The employees that helped us were very nice and helpful. One of them told me I just had to try her favorite flavor (I believe it was the sea salt caramel) and it was so good! I normally don't like salted caramel or salted chocolate or anything like that, but this one was delicious. I ended up getting a double scoop with the salted caramel flavor and the chocolate gooey brownie. My husband got a double scoop of the cream cheese jalapeño flavor and he loved it. We'll definitely be back!

    Yum in a waffle cone!

The moment I walked in, I was greeted by a warm, sunshine-filled space that smelled absolutely divine--fresh, homemade waffle cones baking and filling the room with happiness. The staff welcomed us with genuine smiles and even offered samples (yes please!), which made choosing a flavor both fun and deliciously difficult. After a few tastes, I landed on Sweet Cream and Cookie Crush--and wow. The sweet cream was classic and comforting, instantly reminding me of my grandmother's homemade ice cream. The cookie crush brought bold flavor: rich, house-made dark chocolate cookies folded into salty vanilla ice cream. The perfect balance of sweet, salty, and indulgent. Pros: Warm and happy aesthetic, heavenly cone smells, and super friendly staff. Cons: The inside is a bit small with limited seating--but during warmer days, the outdoor patio offers plenty of space to enjoy your scoop. I will absolutely be returning to Melt. It's cozy, nostalgic, and full of flavor--definitely worth the stop, no matter the weather.
